hey there! I remember you, we talked before from AMIAV comment section. I agree this was disappointing, I kept…
Hey βΊοΈ I see you haven't signed into MDL for a long time, but I'll reply back to you anyways in case you come back again. Second Husband got extended to 150 episodes later but some people are having mixed feelings about this extension. The ending BGM is nice though. https://youtube.com/watch?v=p-FrQEIGzms As for Red Shoes, it was a so-so drama, some people complained about the FL. I still find it more tolerable than MM. I skipped out on the next airing one Love Twist because I thought it was a slice of life drama π I'm excited about the one airing after SH since Seo Ha Joon is the ML in it, I was in love with his character in Phoenix 2020 π especially when this one is also going to be a makjang too
lmao judging by the poster/synopsis people generally wouldn't think it's a happy drama. It's more like angst and frustration when you watch those villains. I guess the happier moments are when watching the main leads' romance which happens more in the later episodes, they started out bickering in the beginning. But watching makjang dramas makes me happy/excited though π
depends what you're looking for, do you use Myanimelist.net? My tastes in anime are outdated though π I don't keep up with seasonals and I haven't really been liking anything these past few years besides Haikyuu seasons 1-3 (S4 wasn't as exciting anymore for me) But I got hooked to Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin recently, maybe because it's got bromance and a darker/gritty plot that gives me slight makjang vibes.. Gankutsuou was also a revenge show I liked it a long time ago. Rumbling Hearts was a good melodrama I'd say it's similar to a k-drama plot. Or if you're looking for a comedy Sakamoto Desu Ga is as funny as Eulachacha Waikiki.
I also started Giant (k-drama) man I miss these older shows, they don't make these anymore..
S2 was a big disappointment for me back when this was airing and I hated that they broke up the Jun Ki/Chewbacca…
Sorry for the late reply, I was taking a break from MDL. I see you finished it by now though, I've seen all the zombie k-dramas/movies so far but I still liked Kingdom the most. I'm more into the chasing/action stuff than talking scenes like with Happiness/#Alive π
I came back to agree with your comment π I was watching some other stuff but I decided not to care anymore…
I still haven't watched it yet even though I heard of it last year. I got hooked to some of those other cheating dramas like TWOTM, Love Affairs in the Afternoon or My Dangerous Wife so that's why I wanted to check it out, and sometimes low ratings makes me more curious /actually want to check out a drama more π It was from the writer of New Tales of Gisaeng too which also stars Sung Hoon I got duped into thinking it was a makjang but it was more like 70% Slice of Life 30% Melodrama π€ the beginning of ep 1 scene in that drama was hilarious though
we're wondering if the title doesn't refer to JM and SH/BN because she was never actually married but instead…
That could be true but drama titles usually refer to the main character than the supporting ones. BSH never got to marry MSH but still considered him as a husband anyways because of their de facto marriage so JM is still the 2nd man in her life - it's just a catchy name for the drama title.
Sameee I've been stuck on the since episode 120, I am taking a break from SH, it was fun looking forward to it…
+ for another personal reason which is off topic (long story which only those who actively post in the forums here will know what I'm talking about) I'd been busy reporting a few users since last December for spamming the forums even though I put up with that for a long time already π I wanted to take a break from that too anyways since but SH and some users I kept messaging to kept me coming back to this site..
If you like makjang, sure. People are always complaining about daily dramas halfway or towards the end but this is the style of daily dramas, all of them get dragged out or repetitive at some point because of the episode length. Second Husband feels more like a looser version of Yellow Boots plot with its similarities/characters except for more birth secrets, face slapping/hair pulling to drag out the show. The ML becomes more supportive of the FL later even though they started out bickering at each other. It is still addictive but could've had more potential.
Loved episode 1 and the grittiness it had, does the rest of the drama hold up?
I liked the 1st ep too when I started it last week, it felt like a mix of Arthdal Chronicles/The Legend vibe then the rest of it is like Tale of the Nine-tailed π felt like a generic modern fantasy k-drama after that, wish the entire drama could've been in historical mode instead because the cinematography/atmosphere felt a lot better there. most of it was a drag for me then the last ep was more gritty like ep 1 but I was kinda cringing at some of those dialogues.. @ClaudiaKdrama4ever "dragged for like 10 episodes" that doesn't sound good for a drama lmao
SH is the only airing drama I'm even addicted to or care about since last year, now I don't feel like going on MDL anymore for those same 2 weeks π this will be the perfect opportunity for me to catch up on anime instead. Plus this is making it even longer for Seo Ha Joon's next drama to come out. I also managed to change Uhm Hyun Kyung's profile pic and added the child actor for SB, thanks whoever approved them. Her newer pic is more accurate since she had that pale skin/dark hair look in her most recent 2 daily dramas. I feel like Cha Seo Won needs a better pic too, he looks way better looking in the drama than in that photo but it's hard to find any good frontal pictures of him.
damn this sucks since SH is the only airing drama I'm even watching and this is making me wait even longer for Seo Ha Joon's next drama to come out.. π
120 episodes? almost every day? for like half a year long?
yeah, for some reason MBC/SBS dailies are even longer than the KBS2 ones with only 100. I'm excited to watch Seo Ha Joon again ever since his last daily Phoenix 2020 π
Yeah it was addicting, that was the 2nd k-drama I ever watched I watched on DVD (borrowed it from the library) back when I didn't even know what a "makjang" was π they don't make stuff like that anymore nowadays... now they air more of those generic high class society dramas murder plots which I don't even really consider makjang.
