Me! But imho, MIAV had a better plot (casts were also better there than here).
agreed that show set my heart on fire everyday addicted to every episode, I was kinda biased for the male casts Kang Eun Tak acting with disability or Seo Joon not falling for Yoo Ra, and those BGM OSTs still stuck with me over the years. That one was more character driven and emotional at times while this one kept hiding identities and dragging on the cheating affair plot in the first half. It was predictable here how they copied the same reunited lovers plot (was more emotional in AMIAV how they met again) but at least the kid survived from the hospital here, Min Woo used to be adorable and I cried for his sickness episodes. Lee Chae Young and Kim Hee Jung's interactions were more interesting as villains vs. villains while this one just relies on blackmail. They did Se Rin dirty here, feels kinda bad for her like Jung Gyeol gets to survive so much and have a happy ending in someone else's body 🤔 If her original body was meant to die plotwise they should've just killed her off in the beginning and have real Se Rin take the lead without body swapping or making Ae Ra an anti hero protagonist marrying into the family. Plus the whole guilty feeling at the end just because they're siblings than actual remorse.. but that left more of an emotional impact as a tragic fate. I don't think the real Joo Ae Ra character was necessary she could've just gotten a new fake name anyways. 10 years was a big time skip at the end, damn. No one ages except for the kid off screen and you get a loyal man waiting for you.

there were a few plots copied from AMIAV like the kids in the hospital or reunited lovers but the former made it more obvious than this one sprung last minute. And villains vs. villains again

other than what others said there are few plot similarities and similar BGM (I used to be obsessed with AMIAV when it aired you can see all my old comments in that section lmao)
any old AMIAV watchers here? What do you think of the comparison between the 2? I used to be obsessed with that back when it was airing. This was OK but somehow too many characters/sub plots.. SR just sidelined off like a side character and didn't have much screen time herself. BGM is reminiscent of AMIAV too sometimes with those Gregorian chants/vocals and certain plot points.
Its been a while since I posted because they did the worst thing and killed of Se Rin. Nonetheless I'm still watching…
I don't think she is dead yet, it seemed too anticlimactic and no one looked depressed about it they might be pretending she is just so they can protect those villains from coming after her. In dramas if there is no dead body then there's a chance they're alive 😆
Elegant Empire the main lead is Han Ji Wan (Joo Se Young from Witches Game)
Almost every drama in this timeslot is revenge dramas, idk about Love Twist since I skipped that one but I've been keeping up with everything else here since late 2019, even went out of my way to watch a few others before Gracious Revenge aired. There will always be complaints about daily plots how villains are always winning or things getting dragged out to fill in the episodes
I'm dropping this drama this new revenge tragic back story with AeRa makes no sense and it's out of nowhere too.…
It was already hinted at an earlier episode with her switching names with the real Joo Ae Ra it showed her as a normal person but the grandpa/honorary chairman being an evil guy seems out of place since he's been the good guy to stand up for Gyeol even when she's comatose 🤔 her backstory wasn't fleshed out that well and rushed
Whats Oh Se Rin doing? Is this her revenge? This is becoming difficult to watch. I hope something changes soon.
yeah there's nothing more to the plot than the cheating currently, the first 20 eps was so angst with many side plots happening now it's making those cheaters seem like comedic characters, all we're waiting for is the FL to wake up from her coma, USB evidence, reunion with her kid and going back to their right identities.
Ok, I think I'm going to drop. The soul change thing is so dumb. Anyways I have more dramas that I need to catch…
Technically JG should've lost already physically/plot wise and being the real SR's turn to shine and figure out the truth instead of her. I was disappointed that we didn't get to see the real SR character doing the revenge part instead of just the actress' body. The only good thing about a body switch is the horror on their faces when they find out that her soul still haunts them even when she's supposed to be in a coma 😂
I was hyped at first because I used to be obsessed with AMIAV back when it was airing (have been keeping up with all the dailies in this timeslot ever since Gracious Revenge aired except for Love Twist) but none of them got me that pumped up anymore after that. They all seemed to be revolved around female characters too (+ those female singer ending themes). Also watched Second Husband so I'm used to seeing the cheating hubby ML already. AR's backstory doesn't really make us sympathetic for her just because of another random female character in the past but in AMIAV her character was more understandable and realistic due to her poor family background and greedy mom.
All their problems could've been solved if the dad and JG ratted out the cheaters to the Chairman instead of their enemies (even if they try to get away with the cheating at least more eyes will be watching them), plus all 3 characters (including SY) working alone and keeping things to themselves instead of telling more people about it/uploading evidence online especially when it's that important. Why didn't SR and TY recognize JG from helping them out at the police station before? That incident was already ridiculous how there could be no cctvs or it's conveniently broken especially when selling expensive products.
The body switch thing is somewhat disappointing since the FL's body already lost to the villains physically (ended up in a coma/locked in syndrome) so it feels like a copout, plus being in a rich person's body it's easy to get revenge already compared to if they were poor but switching souls can help them understand each other's side more and balance out their personalities. I would've liked the 2 FLs actually meeting and JG showing off SR all of the evil deeds then she goes into a coma and the other one remains alive to get revenge for both of them instead of misunderstandings and blaming the victims' family for being villains, plus I already liked SR's feisty character in the beginning than JG so I was looking forward to her side of the story if she encountered AR or trying to figure out the truth behind SY's death if there was a clue to something being off with the murder case. JG could've also easily told TY everything that happened so far including the body switch too then ask about the flash drive, there was nothing to even lose for telling him all that except the drama would be cut shorter and less revenge story on AR 🙄 There is less intensity in the plot now knowing the key item she needs already exists somewhere especially in the hands of an ally.

I'd rather watch this than those American live action Disney movies 😂
