it feels like one of those typical artificial high class society dramas again, nothing special. I really miss those old school makjang dramas like East of Eden or Giant, but we don't see them anymore and these types of dramas are the trend now. Those 2 had more heartfelt original stories/acting and BGM/OSTs to carry the drama. The FLs (Lee Yun Hee, Han Ji Hye, Park Jin Hee) looked pretty too even with natural makeup, didn't need any fancy wardrobes or hairstyles to attract our attention.
I had doubts about watching the rest of this but seeing how fun your comments were I wanted to stick around for that at least, but after that last insulting comment down there it makes me want to camp on MAL instead, people are way more chill there no one gets offended easily like this 🙄

what did you think of the first 2 episodes?

it looks about the same as other dailies 😂 but MBC dailies do have a different cinematography/lighting than KBS ones, as I noticed while watching Second Husband.
a lot of posters make the dramas look better than the actual drama itself lol even the gold font title at the end of the episode reminds me of SKY Castle/Graceful Friends.
I skipped Love Twist but A Man in a Veil was the last good daily I actually got addicted to from this timeslot 🙄

it's the only airing dramas I watch nowadays 🤷‍♀️ I kinda stopped watching 2022 k-dramas now to watch older stuff instead.
I liked Lee Si Kang from AMIAV but I only watch makjang dailies lol that was the last good daily from this timeslot tbh

maybe my wording was weird, what I meant was that I'm watching The Secret House at the same time but that title matches this drama more since Gold Mask's household feels more mysterious/makjang than that drama 🤔

I was going to try Empress Ki after this since I heard that was JCW's last good drama besides Healer and so many people praising this 😅

It didn't have that many singing scenes, I actually wanted more of it haha the trailers are misleading, it makes you think it is magical but it feels like a normal k-drama with some fantasy scenes 🤦‍♀️
Fatal Promise was addicting, one of the last good dailies there besides "A Man in a Veil". There's supposed to be a new one coming out "Gold Mask" this week.
as for your other comment, I have a friend here who uses MAL too but with same no random FRs rule. Except I got to add/talk to him this year because of that reporting situation I told you about in our last inbox message 4 months ago. We are still writing long comments to each other now ever since January.

I think it is a general thing to do adding people but I had a similar problem where some random guy added me on MAL & Discord last month but we barely talked or knew each other. Another girl too, we talked for 1 hr at first but now we barely chat after. That's why I rather we socialize on the sites first to see if we click then add them on Discord.
I understand adding random people for these sites since I don't think much of it (I have 500 now) but for Discord website which is meant for chatting, why add me if you're not genuinely interested in talking to me?? That feels more obvious than here since there are other things to do on the site. I have so many off topic things to say here I should've just messaged you instead 😂

I only made 1 comment there months ago 😅 Giant was pretty addicting in the beginning with the younger actors but then the older actors showed up suddenly, and plot felt slower but not bad, I miss these types of dramas nowadays.
I do like some of the BGM in it. I started making Spotify playlists this year but a lot of BGM from other dramas is still missing. I haven't updated my BGM thread for a long time, we used to post in that together.
Have you seen Park Ha Na's recent dramas yet (Young Lady & Gentleman) she showed up in The Sound of Magic too.

I thought the previous synopsis hinted at that sister's death 🤔
"A story about quitting being a good boy and chasing evil to the end for the sake of the mother and sister who sacrificed for themselves."
but obviously people who know too much end up dying anyways so this adds more motive to the plot than just a missing mom
