I think things are changing because of Kdramas. I mean, in Europe, many start with Kdramas but there aren 't enough of them to please the huge european population (almost 500 millions people).

Also, algorithms is a game changer. I discovered Cdramas because I was looking for channels for Kdramas and Youtube proposed me a few Cdramas.

I have to say that now, my watching time is mostly Cdramas with occasionally the Kdrama or the american shows. But it's less and less for those two categories.

Netflix proposing Cdramas is also a game changer.

Personally, I love modern rom-coms, paranormal rom-coms and costume dramas. I wish in France producers were as interested and as proud in our history as the chinese writers and producers.

France has a good cultural relationship with Japan, it exploded in the late 70's with animes (Hello Goldorak and Candy Candy, en entire generation was obsessed with those two animes back then, it even attracted politicians frowning upon some animes like Ken the survivor because they were considered too violent and bloody for children), followed by mangas.

French people love comic books, mostly french and belgian ones but mangas took off like a rocket. So I wouldn't say that we, in France, are snobby about other countries's cultures.

I'm not surprised that first Kdramas and now Cdramas are being recognized in Europe. I just wished that chinese platforms would propose french subtitles. I watch Cdramas with english subtitles, I'm lucky to be fluent enough to follow a drama this way. But french are, well, notoriously bad in english so... yeah, french subtitles is a must if they want to win a french audience.

Not many american shows right now. Hmmm, NCIS Origins, which takes place in the 90's. I love the vibe and the new characters are amazing . It's like... a different genre than the rest of the NCIS shows. Which I never managed to get into. I still watch the mother ship. I almost stopped watching during the Eleanor years, though. And I thought with Gibbs gone, it would be over. But Parker is a great new character.

When I have the time, I'll binge watch "Monarch Legacy of monsters". I wait until season 2 is over so I have two seasons to watch.

I wait with great impatience the anime show "Maul", from the Star Wars universe. I have only watched Rebels from SW, in animes, the other animes didn't catch my attention but the trailer for "Maul", was fantastic.

No romance shows or rom-com series from the US or Europe. I reserve that for mostly Cdramas nowadays. "I have watched "Love between lines" until episode 15 so far and I really like it.

Basically, I like shows, whether in the sci-fi/paranormal or romance genre, because it's entertaining for me. It's exactly what I like because it takes me to new worlds, in a way, to divert me from RL issues.

I'm french, those kind of shows just don't exist here. If you like rom-coms or paranormal rom-com, or even some sci-fi with romance, it's just non existent.

I still watch some american shows but even there, quality is not what it used to be, at least in the genres I like. I just watched recently, Ashoka, Skeleton Crew (2 Star Wars shows), Star Trek Discovery (which I gave up on in during season 4).

So I don't count on american or french shows for fun rom-coms or fun sitcoms or sci-fi shows. And rarely on Kdramas now. There are still some romance dramas but somehow, they don't catch my attention, not sure why. Maybe it will come back, who knows?

Now I turn to Cdramas. I don't look for complex stuff, I want to be just entertained, to forget about real life and about my problems for a while.

These days, Korean dramas don’t seem as good as they used to be. Those were the days—shows like The Legend…
Kdramas seem to have been a bit... westernized, because of its success oversea. That's a shame, Kdramas had their own charm, own particularity. I love those kind of supernatural love stories, or just fun rom-com as la "Business proposal", but there seem to be less of them.

Plus, the episodes are less numerous. I started to watch Kdramas around 2019/2020, dramas had at least 20 episodes.

Then it was 16, 14, 12 episodes. Sometimes less. I feel like watching an american or english serie, with so few episodes.

I agree that maybe another actress or actor should have been hired. But a child, at almost 18? Sorry, a child…
You need psychiatric help if you think a soon to be 18 years old is a child. There are medical terms to describe 0 to 18 years old human beings and 18 years old is NOT medically a child.

I agree that maybe another actress or actor should have been hired. But a child, at almost 18? Sorry, a child is between, what 4 and 11 years old?

Then after that, they are teenagers.

Then, at 17, almost 18, they are pre-adults. At 18, they are officially young adults. People in most cultures are able to drive a car, buy a car, vote to elect the president of their countries, have sex, get married, go to college, drink (at least in Europe) , have children, travel around the world when they reach 18.

Hell, in some european countries, politicians want that young people could vote at 16.

In the USA, I think there are still states where people can get married at 16 (not that I think it's a good idea).

In some countries, they can drive at 16.

But she is not a child. Her teenage years are over and she is about to start her adult life.

Person Song Wei Long
tbh most of his dramas are mediocre but i still watch them because of his face
"Bionic life" was an amazing sci-fi drama with a scary SWL. He wa the "good guy" but still an abrasive and even dangerous sometimes character. "Seven relics" was good too, but he had the misfortune of being paired with a FL actress who just freezes in romance scenes and refuses kissing scenes. She is great otherwice in other dramas but she should never play in romance dramas.

And of course, there was "Go ahead". So so far, for me, at least 3 great dramas with very good acting.

Then don’t watch. Turn it off. This isn’t hard. No one is forcing you to watch !
A phobia is a valid fear. I'm french. Considering what has been happening in my country those last years, you bet I have a reasonable phobia. Ask the british about the grooming gangs and their "phobia".

Christians who are upset as just as nuts as muslims who are upset. Keep your religion private. Like sex. I don't need to see it.

Which religion are they mocking?
I'm a catholic.

Pakistan STOLE the knowledge, it didn't create an atomic bomb, a pakistanese scientist working in the Netherlands stole everything he needed to create a bomb.

Yeah, 2-3 countries. I'm european, french. Believe me, we have our share of muslims in my country, enough to know that this community is the only one (wherever it goes) to not integrate and try to force ITS culture and religion on the countries they migrate to.

We all know what happened with the grooming gangs in the UK. Or the thousands rapes and sexual agressions in Cologne in 2016. The terrorists attacks. Everywhere in Europe now, schools, train stations, malls, churches are protected by the army and guess what? It's not to protect from the jews. Or the Christians. Or the buddhists. Or the atheists. Nope, it's from the "you know what" community.

A famous saying all around the world about you: "Offended by everything, ashamed of nothing, entitled to everything, responsible for nothing".

Know Islam, no peace. No Islam, know peace.

Snort, you make me laugh with your women. A european woman was raped in SA and when she reported the rape to the police, she was thrown in jail because "she had had sexual intercourse while not being married".

Women in Afghanistan, what a joy. Women in Iran, what a joy. Women in pleny of african countries, what a joy.

And please, if Iran had the atomic bomb, it would have used it already. Just because americans were more intelligent than muslim scientists and created the atomic bomb first, means that muslim leaders wouldn't have used it if they had been the first to create it.

lol genie story is legit the story of iblis in the quran idk why ppl are offended tho its just fantasy show
I wasn't offended by the american show Lucifer showing his love story with Chloe. It was fiction. Some humans are just insane and don't even know it, when they rant like lunatics about their religion. Religion stays at home or in church/mosque/synagogue, leave people alone. Life is already tough on Earth, no need to destroy what brings joy, aka dramas and music and movies and books.

Don't watch. Jeez, you complain about your religion, while having no problem with insulting and complaining about another culture. South Korea can make dramas about christianity, buddhism or Islam, they don't answer to you or me (christian).

Yeah, yeah, we know how you or your buddies act when your religion is criticized. Priests beheaded, teachers beheaded, people enjoying music kalashnikoved.... in non muslim countries and non muslim cultures.

Just give us a break from you, nutjobs. In your country, do whatever you want. NOn muslim countries with THEIR LAWS, THEIR CULTURE, can do whatever they want and to hell with your feelings.

Title For All Time
For those who are watching, why do you think the ML's friend is trying to kill him? I mean, he is a scientist interested in time travel and parallel universes. I don't remember seeing him in the past, although after episode 7, I wonder if he was the one who killed off the two leads with a single arrow.

He also collects ancient weapons and said at one point it was soon time to go back or something like that.

The FL seems to have seen him somewhere, in this life or is she remembering a past life where he was present?

That's how it is with time-travel C-drama. You have to get used to the fact that because of time-travels bans…
I watch time travel dramas because they are my favorite genre and I'm so used to it that I don't mind or care. I know what the writers intended and that what was the "official ending" was the "censorship ending".

And considering that every modern time travel drama lately (the last one being "Fell on you" or something like that) ended up the same way, I know that the writers have very little room to explain the ending a bit better (like the characters meeting, discussing the TT, their feelings, readapting to real life), as if thewriters have to tick very specific cases where the ending is concerned.

That's good enough for me.
