Title Summit of Our Youth Spoiler
I just hope it's not like that and the lift event happens later again and when they wake up they actually changed…
Yeah, I have never seen this Dallas scenario in a chinese TT drama.

I see a few possibilities:

- 5% chances that this is really a TT drama. After all, it's a modern drama and the heroes don't want to change History with a big H but more they want to change their personal lives (saving his friend's life for the ML and remaining an engeneer, and being more study/career focused for the FL) so that could appease the censors in China,

- it's a coma dream life after the lift accident,

If it's a coma dream life:

- they could both realize that they both remember their real lives while in their coma and trying to find a way to go back to reality,

- they don't realize they are in a coma and wake up, but remember this strange dream life, find each other again and go on living their love story they had started during their coma-dream life,

- they don't realize they are in a coma and wake up, but they don't remember this coma dream life. They meet again and either they suddenly remember, or they still don't remember but they fall in love with each other again, like in their dream life.

I post this because I know that many international viewers (I'm one) have no idea about the banning of TT dramas in China and that writers have to find a way to bypass censorship by the "it was a novel/dream/coma" scenerio.

And then they get mad and kill the drama in the MDL rating/note.

The way I accept that: there's censorship. So the writers find a way. The drama that you see is the real story the writers want to tell but the dream/coma/novel ending is the one imposed on them by censorship.

I dissociate the two, what the writers wanted to do, and what they were forced to write because of censorship. For me, the real ending is that it was real TT but they couldn't write it.

- they don't

I swear to god I'm gonna loose my shit if this turns out to be that she didn't actually time travel to the past…
There are two scenes where we see the FL, in the first episode I think, in a hospital bed, and same with the ML, in episode 5 or 6, I don't remember.

Time travel is banned in China so writers have to come up with ways to bypass censorship to tell a time-travel story. Like "The heart of genius", which was a time-travel and a parallel universe drama, only for a 3 minutes scene at the end where it was in fact a novel the ML was writing.

If it ends up being a novel/coma, I wouldn't be surprised.

Unfortunately, that's probably where its headed.
I'm watching it right now and I bet it's not TT either or even TT communication but rather a novel the ML is writing or a problem of mental illness.

For real TT, there's "Love in time", the 2021 drama. It's a modern drama and a remake. But I really loved it.

My god shi yun every times she comes to screen i HATEEE her.....Bitch said she was jealous??? Broo u r basically…
"And why in today's episode FL was ignoring ML?"

Have you forgotten what her goal was, after realizing that she had a second chance at life (or so she believes, I still think that she is in a coma, so is the ML and they have this coma like connection)?

It was to succeed professionally and not be distracted by love during her studies.

Now she has realizes that she has feelings for the ML and is afraid of her new life going downhill, just like during her "first life", where her love life almost destroyed her professional life.

He went after her because he is a nice guy who is responsible of the group during this trip. And the girl left at night, alone, when it's raining, on foot. Anything could have happened to her.

why did the rating drop it was already to low. This is way better than our generation
It's quite the habit for dramas to start high and then to have declining ratings. Especially if there aren't famous idol dramas playing in them.

But I think the same, it's quite a shame, it's a fun drama, the two main leads are cute and have chemistry, there's a nice family dynamic (at least for the FL's family)... yes, the brother having feelings for the ex-best friend is not the best but I have seen much worse in dramas, honestly.

And I still think that it will end badly for them, in the dream/coma life/new timeline, whatever the producers and writers will come up with because of censorship where time travel is involved in dramas.

Can we just get on with the romance and university plot. I am tired of seeing Ming and the two faced Shiyun. Also…
I'm starting to believe there won't be a relationship between our main leads while they are in college. The FL's goal, after all, was to focus on her studies and not be distracted by love.

I just hope that their adult selves will wake up and have a REAL relationship in the real world. But I fear they will start dating in their coma state, wake up, remember (or not) and then meet again and start again.

Something feels off. The future ML investigates the past FL who died. But his past self is living adventures with her. So shouldn't he remember them?

Yes, he said in the first episode that he can't remember her and he doesn't know why. But shouldn't his memories come back since the telephone activated between their two eras?

I'm starting to wonder if:

- the ML won't be the cause of the FL's death. Maybe an accident? That's why he had amnesia about her,

- of if the entire drama isn't a novel the ML is writing. Maybe based on his high school time.

I knew FL, but I have never seen ML's actor before, I quite like him. Waiting to see 2 of his next upcoming modern…
I had seen him in "Dear Mr Hermitage". I loved that drama, the landscapes, the story, the village, the villagers, the love story... I remember posting a review because the drama was being murdered in the ratings on MDL and I felt it really didn't deserve that note.

Be careful, I remember starting "First love again" because I had nothing to watch and boy, did I regret it because I had to wait everyday for new episodes. And those episodes were almost always ending on cliffhangers.

I wish I had waited and binge watched it!

About Fell upon me, I'm up to season 6. I wonder if the FL isn't going to commit suicide? I mean, she knows she is going to die. Maybe she will learn about her parents getting a divorce, her father having an affair, her best friend turned her back on her cruelly, she seems to be falling into depression... plus that first dream she had of her falling from a building.

Before I knew it, I’d finished 4 eps! 🤭This drama came out of nowhere but it’s sooo good. I agree , gives…
It reminds me of "First love again", the 2021 Cdrama. It was about a man from the future communicating through time with a girl he knew back in high school, trying to change the future over and over again, only to create more and more problems and misunderstandings.

I have only watched two episodes of "Fell upon me", but it really reminds me of this drama. But that doesn't matter, so far, I'm interested.

I think 2 or 3 years, like in real life between the actors (the actress is 25 and the actor 28).
Well, the FL is in her last year of high school, she is 18. The ML is in college and is 20 so 2 years older.

Knowing China, no dating during high school in dramas. Dating in college is okay.

Same! I knlw it worked for Blossom since they didn't really travel back to the present time but not sure how Censors…
Yeah, I think that if they wake up from their coma, they will totally remember their dream life. But as you said, Gao's death will still be painful for the ML.

Maybe this coma is to help him get over his friend's death and find the will to go back to what he loved doing, inventing, engeneering.

Wait and see, I suppose. God, I love this drama so much. So underrated.

Yeah, it looks like time travel, 100% but we know how China is with time travel dramas. That's why there are those scenes here and there of the two of them in a coma. It's to tell the viewers that even though it looks like TT, it's not.

Which is annoying because in their real lives, we know that the ML's best friend died in 2014 (and in fact, the coma started on the day of the death of his best friend) and it traumatized him so much that he stopped studying engeneering and chose another career.

Gao Rui looks so nice and fun, I hate that once the heroes will wake up, he will still be dead.

Let's hope there's a 1% chance that this is, indeed, time travel.

I love that drama! It's been so long since I have been in love with a modern rom-com/fantasy drama. I wish I could download it in a good quality.

Episode 7: yep, as predicted, the ML is also from the future. Both were in the crashing elevator so it makes sense.

God I hope this is a time travel drama and not a coma dream life drama. Because if it's a coma dream life, then it means that the future can't be changed since the coma life isn't real. And it means that Gao Rui will still be dead when they will wake up. And it would be heartbreaking if in the drama, we see him having a love story with the ML's sister, only for it to not be real.

The reason why I lean more towards the coma dream life scenario is because of China banning or heavily restricting time travel dramas. Unless there's been a change of policy?

I think there will be something between them. There are way too many scenes with those two, in the first episodes.…
She has a mother who is a piece of garbage, who doesn't hesitate to manipulate and verbally abuse her own daughter. The father seems to be working and absent in his daughter's life. She is an only child, so the mother is pining all her hopes on her, which is a terrible burden.

I don't like her. But she has a s**** family and backstory. Add to that that she is under her mother's control...

Maybe she will open her eyes and turn her back on her mother, thanks to her relationship with the FL's brother?

I really don't know how this will go with those two.

I think this story we are following is the FL in a coma, where she is living a "what if I had taken a different path when I was a teen" life, and not a real time travel story since they are banned in China. So whatever changes there are, they won't stick once she wakes up from her coma.

So whatever happens with the friend who is not a real friend is only, IMO, what the FL will make out of it in her coma dream life. In real life, she seems to be in cahoots with the guy who sabotaged her code essay. But maybe the FL's accident will trigger redemption?

As I said, with her, it's 50/50, IMO. She could have a redemption arc, or she could remain a villain. After all, every drama needs one. Although here, it could be her mother or the other mean girl who bullies other students.

So far, I'm more invested in the main couple. And I wonder if the ML's sister will have a love story, with Gao, the ML's best friend, the one in the hospital?
