Something feels off. The future ML investigates the past FL who died. But his past self is living adventures with her. So shouldn't he remember them?
Yes, he said in the first episode that he can't remember her and he doesn't know why. But shouldn't his memories come back since the telephone activated between their two eras?
I'm starting to wonder if:
- the ML won't be the cause of the FL's death. Maybe an accident? That's why he had amnesia about her,
- of if the entire drama isn't a novel the ML is writing. Maybe based on his high school time.
I knew FL, but I have never seen ML's actor before, I quite like him. Waiting to see 2 of his next upcoming modern…
I had seen him in "Dear Mr Hermitage". I loved that drama, the landscapes, the story, the village, the villagers, the love story... I remember posting a review because the drama was being murdered in the ratings on MDL and I felt it really didn't deserve that note.
It reminds me of "First love again", the 2021 Cdrama. It was about a man from the future communicating…
Be careful, I remember starting "First love again" because I had nothing to watch and boy, did I regret it because I had to wait everyday for new episodes. And those episodes were almost always ending on cliffhangers.
I wish I had waited and binge watched it!
About Fell upon me, I'm up to season 6. I wonder if the FL isn't going to commit suicide? I mean, she knows she is going to die. Maybe she will learn about her parents getting a divorce, her father having an affair, her best friend turned her back on her cruelly, she seems to be falling into depression... plus that first dream she had of her falling from a building.
Before I knew it, I’d finished 4 eps! 🤭This drama came out of nowhere but it’s sooo good. I agree , gives…
It reminds me of "First love again", the 2021 Cdrama. It was about a man from the future communicating through time with a girl he knew back in high school, trying to change the future over and over again, only to create more and more problems and misunderstandings.
I have only watched two episodes of "Fell upon me", but it really reminds me of this drama. But that doesn't matter, so far, I'm interested.
Same! I knlw it worked for Blossom since they didn't really travel back to the present time but not sure how Censors…
Yeah, I think that if they wake up from their coma, they will totally remember their dream life. But as you said, Gao's death will still be painful for the ML.
Maybe this coma is to help him get over his friend's death and find the will to go back to what he loved doing, inventing, engeneering.
Wait and see, I suppose. God, I love this drama so much. So underrated.

Yeah, it looks like time travel, 100% but we know how China is with time travel dramas. That's why there are those scenes here and there of the two of them in a coma. It's to tell the viewers that even though it looks like TT, it's not.
Which is annoying because in their real lives, we know that the ML's best friend died in 2014 (and in fact, the coma started on the day of the death of his best friend) and it traumatized him so much that he stopped studying engeneering and chose another career.
Gao Rui looks so nice and fun, I hate that once the heroes will wake up, he will still be dead.
Let's hope there's a 1% chance that this is, indeed, time travel.
I love that drama! It's been so long since I have been in love with a modern rom-com/fantasy drama. I wish I could download it in a good quality.
Episode 7: yep, as predicted, the ML is also from the future. Both were in the crashing elevator so it makes sense.
God I hope this is a time travel drama and not a coma dream life drama. Because if it's a coma dream life, then it means that the future can't be changed since the coma life isn't real. And it means that Gao Rui will still be dead when they will wake up. And it would be heartbreaking if in the drama, we see him having a love story with the ML's sister, only for it to not be real.
The reason why I lean more towards the coma dream life scenario is because of China banning or heavily restricting time travel dramas. Unless there's been a change of policy?
I think there will be something between them. There are way too many scenes with those two, in the first episodes.…
She has a mother who is a piece of garbage, who doesn't hesitate to manipulate and verbally abuse her own daughter. The father seems to be working and absent in his daughter's life. She is an only child, so the mother is pining all her hopes on her, which is a terrible burden.
I don't like her. But she has a s**** family and backstory. Add to that that she is under her mother's control...
Maybe she will open her eyes and turn her back on her mother, thanks to her relationship with the FL's brother?
I really don't know how this will go with those two.
I think this story we are following is the FL in a coma, where she is living a "what if I had taken a different path when I was a teen" life, and not a real time travel story since they are banned in China. So whatever changes there are, they won't stick once she wakes up from her coma.
So whatever happens with the friend who is not a real friend is only, IMO, what the FL will make out of it in her coma dream life. In real life, she seems to be in cahoots with the guy who sabotaged her code essay. But maybe the FL's accident will trigger redemption?
As I said, with her, it's 50/50, IMO. She could have a redemption arc, or she could remain a villain. After all, every drama needs one. Although here, it could be her mother or the other mean girl who bullies other students.
I honestly wished the guy that played Female lead brother was the 2nd lead. Because I would love to see their…

So far, I'm more invested in the main couple. And I wonder if the ML's sister will have a love story, with Gao, the ML's best friend, the one in the hospital?
I have a feeling the FL is in a coma after the elevator crash and this is all just a dream since the plot is not…
That's probably the case. Also, I have this feeling that this kind of reborn drama gets the same kind of treatments in China as time travel dramas.
So best case scenario, she is in a coma, so is the ML. So far, he doesn't seem to remember his real life but that's not to say that he won't in future episodes. After all, there has to be a reason why they were both in that elevator.
And in the end, they will wake up remembering their coma love story and will pick up their love story from that point and be a real couple post-coma. And will right the wrongs the other guy did (by sabotaging her code).
It's just my theory.
Anyway, so far it's a fun modern fantaisy rom-com and I like it very much.
I have another theory, and Bei Ming is not Yesha. The drama deliberately raise suspicion toward ML, starting from…
Exactly. And I loved The Coroner' s diary. But CD was a romance/crime solving drama, while TWD is a detective story with a bit of romance, but not much. Also, the main leads are more flawed here, plus the ML, while very clever, is weak physically.

On MDL, it feels like the dramas with the best ratings are the idols dramas ones, or the girl power ones/strong-clever (at least, cleverer than everyone else) FLs. I bet that the large majority on MDL are women (I'm one) and that could explain those ratings for those kinds of dramas.
I still think that it's a twin story. One raised in the Qi kingdom, the other raised by a Haiya massacre survivor, learning all the skills to scheme and become Yesha.
I mean, the Tailor (Hibiscus's husband) did say that he had heard Yesha's voice on the boat. Either it was the FL's father (but he is dead while the Yesha leader is still alive and kicking, plus from his hands, he looks like a young man and Old Bug did say he was a young man), or it was :
- the ML. He was Yesha from the start and is manipulating everyone,
- the ML has a personality disorder: he is Yesha but doesn't remember when Yesha takes over,
- the ML has a twin. That would explain the same voices, why Yesha let him live 3 years ago. In fact, a twin could even cure him, like... I don't know, some kind of blood transfusion could get rid of the poison ?
I think it's a case of corrupted high ranking ministers. They might have stolen from the Emperor for years, getting money to make weapons when in fact, they were stealing it, then accusing the Haiya people of either rebelling or stealing from the Emperor.
They then pushed the Emperor to punish them.
Or... the Emperor has no idea that it happened and it was in fact the ministers who wanted to cover their tracks by eliminating the Haiya people and that's why there's a cover story.
I don't know. If the Emperor wanted to make an example out of the poor Haiay, then everybody would know about them. But in fact, it's been covered up so much that nobody knows that this massacre happened, except for the survivors.
I think Yesha wants the massacre to be known to the Emperor or to the Qi people, so he kills the ones responsible, knowing that there would be an investigation, leading to the truth about the massacre.
the rating keeps dropping so much; I've paused the drama for now until more episodes get released but it can't…
Maybe people expected a romance drama a la "Coroner's diary"? Here, it's more a detective drama with a bit of romance, while Coroner's diary was 50% romance.

Knowing China, no dating during high school in dramas. Dating in college is okay.

Between actors? The actress is 25 and the actor 28.
