I have stopped paying attention to MDL ratings because they are generally... insane. But this one tops the cake! This is, so far, amazing. It's a youth drama, but with depth, without being too much slice of life. The first episode with the kids was very well acted and written. I just wish we had spent more time with the kids in their village, that's how GOOD the first episode and the kids were.

We are now in their high school life and it's just as good. The friendship between the kids once teens is great, I hope it stays that way (no love triangle, please!).

Honestly, so far, it deserves at least a 8.7 ratings. We'll see how it ends up but it's a really good drama and I recommand it.

She wants to eradicate the 3rd branch of the Qin family, that means killing Chen's wife and her baby. She never loved Chen, the guy fell for her, and well, he is his father's son. Strange how he can't see how alike his father he is, in the end. Just as bad as him.

"Rose and gun" is airing right now while it's a military romance which was shot in 2019. Is the ban lifted?

The question is, then: why is his spirit weak? He was an athlete with a bright future, so he had to have a strong mind, a strong will, a strong energy, so basically, a strong spirit.

Did something happen? Was it linked to his parents living abroad? Did he have a nervous breakdown or something like that, weakening his spirit?

I wonder what's the reason for the upside down people? Are they cursed? Are they born that way? Are they paying in this life a crime from a past life?

So-so. It was okay but not the best. I have seen Lin Yi in a few dramas and while I like his projects in general, I can't say that I've been blown away by his acting. He does the job though.

I think it still worked, though because it was not a romance drama but a sci-fi/mystery drama with a lot of pain and emotional growth for the FL, even away from the ML.

I loved DR because of the story and the main actress. As I said, she just killed it in the role. That's why I was shocked by how... passable she was in her latest rom-com with Wang An Yu. The guy could have chemistry with his water bottle or a piece of furniture and can sell romance. Except in that drama. I litteraly cringed when I saw a scene where they had been apart and the actress was supposed to run towards the male lead and jumped in his arms.

She just... shied away from him. I understand that she doesn't want to do kisses. But she didn't even manage to sell the love between them with her body language.

When she can be so amazing in other roles, that's just crazy to me!

I have that one on my list, too ! I love the main leads, especially the main male lead.

Wasn't there supernatural chicken in "Parallel world", too? And aren't "Parallel World" and "7 relics" written by the same author?

Maybe there is a link between those two dramas. Or it's just the author liking the idea of supernatural chicken and using them in his novels.

True, she was amazing in that drama. The trauma the FL was going through, the mystery, the pain and she was crushing it with the crying scenes in "Derailment". And it's the same here with 7 relics.

She does so very well in those kind of genres. It's too bad that romance is not her forte. I get the no kissing, but if she could sell the romance, the longing one feels for a loved one, through body language, I would gladly watch romance dramas with her. But even there, I felt she was lacking in her last romance drama with.

It's strange as she can be one of the best actresses in serious dramas, sci-fi dramas, pain dramas, but be blah in romance dramas. It's a mystery to me.

Maybe it's because english is not my first language but my god, can you at least make an effort to write in a comprehensible english, please?

Plus, I already said I don't care about the no kisses if the couple has chemistry and can convey love and passion and longing through body language.

She can't.

She is fantastic in other areas, mostly serious, dramatic dramas. She has an amazing talent for crying. But the love language is foreign to her.

Her contract isn't for life. When it's time to renew it, she should add that "no romance close" if she can't deliver even by simple body language communication.

Second, it's not the first time that this issue arises and it looks like this time, it's getting more traction. She could go back to acting school to learn technics about intimacy, body language and generally romance in acting.

Or she could just admit that she isn't confortable with romance, she knows it, her agency knows it, now fans and the medias know it so if she is hired for romance dramas in the future, yes, the blame will be on the director and casting people's heads. And the fans will know it beforehand and choose whether to watch her romance dramas or not.

I will watch her next drama with Song Wei Long. It'ts adventure/sci-fi and the romance should be minimum, maybe even absent. But from now on, I will no longer watch romance dramas if she is the main lead.

PS: please don't tell me what to do, think or say, or to shut up. This is a forum discussion, we can tell it like it is.

In that case, she should add to her contract : "no romance drama".

Honestly, I just saw a clip of the two leads running towards each other and jumping into each other's arms. The actress is LITTERALLY holding back, her head and shoulders moving away from the actor.

I expected AT LEAST in this kind of scene for the actress to snuggle into the actor's shoulder/neck, to simulate intimacy and joy of being back together. And not shrinking away in just a simple romantic scene like this one with no kissing.

I had loved her in "Derailment". I had heard about the no kissing scene but I didn't mind, if the rom-com captures the mood, the feeling of being in love and missing your loved one through body language.

But even there, she fails specularly.

She really should, from now on, stay away from romantic roles and focus on dramatic ones.

I really wanted to love that drama. But... I'm not feeling the romance and it has nothing to do with no kissing.

The chemistry is okay, could be better but it's all right, thanks, mainly, to Wang An Yu who could have chemistry with a piece of furniture.

The scenery is very nice so it's a cool drama to look at.

I love the FL's relationship with her dad. Or the complicated relationship the ML has with his family, I want to know more about it.

But it's lacking in the romance department. And here, IMO, the fault lies with Liu Hao Cun. She is an amazing actress in other genres. I have seen her in "Derailment", where the romance wasn't the main theme of the drama. I recommand you watching this drama just for her. I have seen Wang An Yu in another romance drama, " Forever love", I believe and he was just perfect in that role, a youth drama too.
I really wanted to love that drama. But... I'm not feeling the romance and it has nothing to do with no kissing.



Usually, I turn towards the second couple but here, they are not a couple (maybe that will change?) and they are more interested in talking about the MLs than doing their things or being in a relationship so it's a bit annoying that there's no real couple to get invested in, in this drama.

I truly believe that Liu Hao Cun is just not confortable with playing the FL in a romantic drama. At least for now, it could change in the future with personal and professional experience but apparently, she doesn't want to gain that professional experience. I heard about the no kissing, but actors and actresses are supposed to be able to play every kind of roles. If she is not okay with kissing or rom-coms, then maybe she shouldn’t act in those kinds of dramas. And I truly believe that she is NOT confortable in the rom-com genre, and not just the kissing. The entire romance genre.

I feel like she is trying to move away from rom-com/idol dramas and be in more serious dramas, even if it means being SFL.

On the Youtube Channel "Marcus here", he said that she had been cleared of the accusations because there was proof that the recording had been manufactured, with words chosen here and there to make it look like she was insulting the chinese people. It was her ex-assistant who did this, because of personal and professional issues between them. A vengeance.

Apparently, she is back to shoot her drama and be part of the promotional posters, and stuff like that.

Marcus is rather down to earth and sticks to facts, numbers so I think it's true.

Still, if I were the channel which had the rights to this drama, I would air dropped it out of the blue, just in case.

No, that's not it. I must mix it with another drama. I think it aired around the same time as "Always have, always will", and the actress for the drama I mentioned was also small and young, so I thought it was Chen Fang Tong.

But it's not this drama. I really can't remember the name or the actor. Just that it aired either in 2020 or 2021.

Yep, we can say good-bye to this drama. Sigh another one.

Is there an early drama missing in her bio? Didn't she play in a youth drama where she was the daughter of a martial art man, was going to school where her idol drama also went to? And she had a crush on him and started protecting him from other people, fans and so on?

I remember that the youth actor had health issues, had a passion for science and space and was living alone but under the tight control of his mother?

Unless I'm making a mistake and it was another actress who looks like her?

For "A beautiful lie"? it's not a drama which is currently airing, it's from last year. Anybody could read the reviews here on MDL.
