.....As someone who also helds in most of everything away from support systems in a toxic manner like FL, This…
a healing journey for us indeed! I have never related to a kdrama character before as much as I did w/ seokryu (except her lovelife aspect).

what you mean that explains why wasn't so cold towards him !?!! so he leaving her in her hard times is something…
No that is not something good, I said he is a jerk for doing that. What I meant when I said her treatment wasn't cold towards him during the past episodes when they interacted was because it turns out the reason for their break-up wasn't because he cheated but because he left her at her lowest. If the reason was cheating I believe she would have reacted differently than she did in these past episodes. Also, her rejection towards Seunghyo is not just because of what her ex did to her but about all the things she went through, she is scared because her cancer might reoccur and end up becoming a burden.

i don't think we all think it is exceptional , we are not saying it is the best of the best , but that doesn't…
yeah we can, but still people also have the right to call them out or complain about them which is normal to do so.

Damn. JUNG HAEIN and JUNG SOMIN's intense emotional scene got the best of me. Came back here after calming down from ugly sobbing because of them.

Anyway, Episode 9 was truly angsty (not built for everyone who doesn't enjoy such heavy emotional scenes). This episode tugged at my heartstrings, I felt every inch of the emotion they each both felt during that heavy scene. Haein literally exploded with all his emotions, reminding me again why he is one of my fave Korean actors. I commend both him and Somin for delivering that scene so well. I cried a lot, but I didn't actually expect that I would cry even more at the scene when Seokryu and her mother hugged. I am glad that everything about Seokryu's past in the US and with her ex had now been officially wrapped up and didn't dragged along until Ep 10 or else I would have riot. Seokryu's ex is a complete selfish jerk, he is a nice guy only if the circumstances are under his favor. Their relationship was truly just for his 'convenience', he is only by her side when situations are good but when they turn bad, he'd be the first to leave her on her own. This now explains why Seokryu wasn't so cold towards him. So glad he is out of the picture.

Aside from enjoying the heavy scenes, I also liked the cute and simp moments of Seunghyo. From saving the milk to saving the pomegranate tree SR gifted him. I feel bad for him that he got rejected twice by Seokryu but at the same time, I understand where Seokryu is coming from. An illness like 'cancer' is really not just having to go through the sickness itself, it's a mentally, physically and emotionally painful experience that would completely changed ones life forever. To make things worst, when she suffered depression and work bullying, her ex had to make it worst for her by not being there at her lowest and making her feel like she was such a burden to him. Seokryu really went into a dark place, so it is no wonder if she no longer looks at 'her life' the same way as she used to, but, if there is one thing that remained the same for her, it is how she is still extremely selfless. She is still thinking about others rather than herself, so now that her cancer has been known, I believe the next episode might be more healing. Her family will now no longer dictate her life and value her own opinions, at the same time, Seokryu will slowly learn how it is okay to rely on others, how she doesn't have to shut herself off to the world and Seunghyo will be there to give her that wake up call.

it's better if they drop this, instead of repeatedly coming here just to comment about the same thing over and over again like a broken record tbh

Me too, like now we can't even complain about the toxicity or negativity of some mdl users who comes here solely for the purpose of spreading hate in a guise of self-proclaimed criticism. Respect goes both ways. If someone is being disrespectful, it is only right for us to call them out or express our own sentiments especially if they are being too much and does nothing but spread negativity and thus ruining the supposed enjoyment of being able to discuss about this drama in this comment section. It's not like when we express our sentiments towards the 'hateful comments', we are targeting and disrespecting those with justifiable criticisms. Like, if the shoe fits wear them, if not, then no need to be so affected when someone calls out or expresses their sentiments with regards to toxicity.

Fam, look, move the fuck on from the "it's not a rom com" bullshit, it's tired now. Jeez, you're so caught up…
IKR. Like just drop this drama and move on, it won't hurt a bit to do that, why bother sticking around and repeating the same so-called 'critic' over and over again after each new episode of this drama airs. So tired of seeing comments as well that has been repetitively saying for the nth time, how this is a version 2.0 or how this is a combination of all the 'tropes' from the recent dramas that had aired this year, like those dramas invented it and if a new Kdrama uses such trope, the current airing Kdrama would be nothing but a copy of those lmao..... some ppl really be acting like it's a crime for a new Kdrama to use such tropes. I honestly don't get the logic when such tropes had been overused since way past those dramas they compare LND to.

Seriously are people not tired of saying this is QOT 2.0 πŸ˜ͺ just because of cancer trope, like marry my husband…
same, plus those who kept commenting how this is a combination of all other dramas like the failed swimming dream from LR lol as if those dramas alone invented such tropes when they also just reused those tropes taken from other old dramas.

Don't worry MDL ratings are irrelevant, I doubt they even know or care about this site. I must say LND is doing…
True. MDL is indeed better than other sites despite how this platform has somewhat turned toxic through the years. However, I still think it's irrelevant to conclude that a drama is successful based solely on this site alone. Datas collected through official streaming sites, Korean articles and platforms for me are still more of a reliable source.

I'm commenting here just to correct you. I'm a healthcare worker and someone who has experienced having a family…
I respect your opinion if you see their childhood flashbacks that way. As for me, I find those flashbacks 'needed' and more than just 'fillers' as it allows viewers to unravel more layers of their characters, especially considering this is a 'childhood to lovers' drama. Although yeah, it does seem unrealistic to remember that much about ones childhood but I find that it is really needed that we get those flashbacks because it adds depth to the complexity of each character and their emotions/feelings. Like, it serves as a bridge so that viewers would be able to get more into their 'childhood to lovers trope' or else the progress of their relationship from such would feel so hollow and rushed/forced. We needed something to at least understand and allow us to dive into the depths of what their 'friendship' 'relationship' 'life' was that connects to the present adult characters of theirs. Even that crush part you've mentioned will eventually turn out to be something significant as well in latter parts of the episodes. I think the reason why you don't find it significant now is due to the fact that we still don't know about Seokryu's whole past especially in the US, like why she didn't pursue her feelings for him, compared to the flashbacks for Seunghyo's which completely explained his feelings in the latest eps.

The chemistry in a show isn’t just about romance. With good chemistry, you don’t even need a kiss scene to…
I'm commenting here just to correct you. I'm a healthcare worker and someone who has experienced having a family member battle with cancer. Regarding such illness, the symptoms varies differently depending on the site/location of where the cancerous cells/tumors had localized or metastasize (spread) plus another factor is the level/stage of cancer they are at, while each 'stages' still varies depending on which organ it is at. In here, Seokryu has been diagnosed with Stomach Cancer in the past, the organ of site is the stomach which is located in the abdominal area away from the 'brain' plus take note she was only on 'stage 2'. So, to put it simply since I won't dive deep to medical terms, her stomach cancer has nothing to do with her memory. It won't affect her. If she would have symptoms for it, it would be most likely on areas located near her stomach, effects such as intense abdominal pain, inability to eat, vomiting etc would be the usual side effects. We can only say 'memory loss' will be considered a symptom if her cancer was located in her brain like the character Hong Haein in 'Queen of Tears' or if the cancerous cells have manage to spread to her brain as well but that isn't the case here, she underwent gastrectomy and chemotherapy alone. My dad was diagnosed with PNS cancer (sinus part) but it didn't affect his brain as the site is totally different, he remembers everything and didn't suffer any memory loss. I hope you get my explanation.

So let me get this straight. As per the comments here. The logic is that if the ratings are high 8.8 - 9 for the…
I'm one of those watchers who doesn't care about ratings, the 8.6 rating doesn't bother me, as for me it is still a high rating. However, people have other opinions with regards to such, some mdl users here only consider watching dramas if they are 8.8-9.0+ alone. So it really varies. As for the matter of bots. Bots/Troll/Hate accounts really do exist here, not all dramas you see that are rated high or low here on mdl are actually 100% genuinely rated by people who really watched and enjoyed those dramas, it's a mix of both genuine and fake accounts. Ratings here are so easy to manipulate, like you can say you finished a drama and rate it a 10 or 1 when the truth is you never really did watch the drama. So I honestly don't trust it that much, because eventually at the end of the day a good drama will still be a good one regardless of ratings. The ratings which I only trust are the ones gathered from official (streaming) sites and datas reported through Korean articles.
