Well, the way I see it. The writer is going with the 'right person, wrong time' kind of plot. Also, I doubt that the FL feelings for ML remained when she was already in a relationship with her ex-fiancee. With the way I view her character, she doesn't seem to be the type to commit easily into something as serious as marriage if she wasn't certain about her feelings for that person, given she values being a filial daughter to her family and how selfless she is. If that were the case, I think from the get-go she wouldn't have been in a relationship with her ex-fiancee let alone, be engaged with him. As for the present, she no longer has feelings for her ex and seems to have developed feelings for the ML again, which sort of reminded her of how she used to like the ML back then. But, the ML case is quite different for me. Unlike FL who was able to move on, his feelings for her which he thought was long gone, was actually still there, based on how his ex made him realize these facts alone. But, yeah we will see on next episode because I could be wrong about certain parts too... we never know hehe

I think it really depends on peoples' personal perferences alone. For me, I like both. The storyline of QOT is good, although it is more cliche and fictional, at some point it has its own charm. Same goes for LND, a good storyline too, but this is rather more realistic and relatable. So, i'm liking LND a little more. But, both dramas are good and have their own uniqueness.

This is my opinion with regards to the timeline of their feelings:
1. Seokryu was the first to have a crush on Seunghyo since they were kids, but it was just the normal crush kind of phase we all go through once in our life, where it is nothing serious, thus, she can have other crushes as well, that seems to be the case for her when she liked her high school senior.
2. Seunghyo began to like Seokryu during their high school days, his feelings for her were much more serious than Seokryu's.
3. After Seokryu was rejected by her high school senior, she might have started to take more notice of Seunghyo based from the little actions he did when they met again the next day after her heartbreak from her senior. Her feelings might have become the same frequency as Seunghyo's by then, considering she also went to support his swimming game and purposely missed out on her exam. Plus, not to forget how she spent the little amount of money she worked hard on saving just to buy an embroided towel for SH and she even went through quite some hardship before she could buy that towel. (this one comes from reading their mini diaries).
4. Although Seokryu has same feelings as Seunghyo, I think she also is afraid to ruin their friendship thus she didn't confess to him. Also, she seems to be the type to prioritize her 'family' over anything else. Thus, when they were apart in the US, she eventually forgot about her feelings for Seunghyo, she dated other guys, those feelings she once had for Seunghyo remained forgotten and buried allowing her to fall inlove with her ex-fiancee.
5. Seunghyo's first visit to the US when they were both in college was like a final closure to his feelings for Seokryu. When he learned that she was already dating someone else, plus the impossibility of them ever seeing each other again due to the distance, he managed to bury and forget his feelings at some point and enter a relationship with his ex. Although, I think it was just him thinking he had 'moved on' from liking SR due to the distance between them.
6. Seunghyo's feelings for Seokryu were reawakened because of the time capsule, her unexpected return and his ex played a key role in making him realize how he truly felt. On the other hand, Seokryu having moved on from her ex, is unaware that the feelings she had for Seunghyo back then which she had long buried and forgotten are slowly coming back again as they interact more and more with each other. Not to forget, how SH already confessed to her.

In conclusion, their timing was always off, they're both bad at communication with each other and they both are afraid to ruin their friendship thus hindering them.

I'm actually anticipating these four mixed genres: first frost, the best thing, the legend of a female general & fangs of fortune hehe

I think I might do the same, going back to cdrama world...I already added some interesting ones on my 'plan to watch' list but with how cdrama usually is, I doubt the ones I like will end up airing this year. I fear nothing will be able to help me move on from LND😭😭😭😭😭

Her ex-fiancee was just helping the girl find the contacts she dropped, he probably picked it up from the ground then sat next to the girl and was about to give it back to her without realizing in the midst of the moment his close body position.

IKR! He is now currently my ult fave among the men. I just loved how direct and sincere he was. I noticed how careful and thoughtful he is too, like he only shows his different side to the woman he is truly interested in and would treat everyone else the same.

I share the same sentiments with you. Honestly, he is one of my fav actors but LND is the first time i'm able to see him on screen again. The last one was DP but had to drop it. I'm fond of his superb acting skills but, some of his projects were simply not my cup of tea or aren't inline with my genre of interest, so I ended up dropping or skipping them. I would love to see him in a few more romantic genre dramas, whether it be, another romcom, melorom, actionrom etc. Also, i've been lowkey wishing he would play a role in medical dramas as a 'doctor' or 'paramedic'. I loved his pharmacist role in one spring night.

I agree with everything you both said. Also, Seokryu no longer loves her ex-fiancee. During the pool scene, she clearly expressed to Seunghyo how she no longer wants to rekindle her past relationship, her words were supported by her actions when she firmly rejected her ex-fiancees proposal. The airport scene was the final closure to their past relationship, it's normal that she cried and felt sad about it, after all endings are truly bittersweet. However, that doesn't mean she still had feelings for him, it rather meant it's clearly over. So at present, Seokryu has moved on from her ex, is in the process of healing and realizing her true feelings for Seunghyo. Both Seokryu and Seunghyo were the type of people they needed in their lives, as only both of them are able to bring each other through and out of a very dark place. Seokryu had clearly done that for Seunghyo way back when he locked himself in his room, now at present Seunghyo is doing it for Seokryu. Only they both are able to bring their 'true selves' out in front of each other.

Sadly, they wouldn't be able to put themselves in the ML shoes because they are hindered by their own expectations and are not opening/widening their perspectives thus they fail to fully understand and sympathize/empathize with the ML's behavior. As a result, no matter if they rewatch the whole drama again or no matter what explanation given to them, it would be pointless because they 'themselves' are not willing to understand the ML's character and behavior. It'll be very difficult to try to make them understand when they had already come into a fixed conclusion on their own. Another factor I noticed, might be due to the fact that the ML's character here is portrayed very realistically - unlike the usual romcom ML we get, who is a complete green forest, epitome of perfection and deeply devoted to the FL alone throughout his whole life. It is no question if some people wouldn't be able to digest a more realistic ML who makes humane mistakes, if they only favor a more fictional ML.

I agree with everything you said. Some people really still fail to grasps that SR and her ex were simply not meant for each other, and their relationship was clearly not strong enough to withstand the storms they faced, no matter how much or how long they had loved each other. Love alone is literally not enough to suffice. Which is such a realistic potrayal. If the same people just paid close attention to the dialogues of SR ex by ep 10, when he expressed his regret about how he wished he had done things like SH did or when he clearly realized it himself, how he wasn't the person she needed, how they just weren't for each other, because he witnessed a true side of SR that he had never seen before after all those years in their relationship. Like, no matter how good their relationship was, they were eventually bound to break in the end because of that fact alone which you had stated, different outlooks in relationships and different needs, literally why love languages exist.

It's pointless to talk to this user, hiding in guise of a critic when they straight out called this drama garbage and made deluded conclusions as to why viewers like this drama.
