This is all based on my perception when I watched it, I could be wrong too but here is how I understood it:

1. There was a scene when JaeYi dressed up as a male and visited the prince mansion (the one where Mujin caught him), it was her first visit there and she only stayed outside, while she was observing she saw 2 men also observing from outside like her then they showed this flashback scene where (fake) hongrang explained to her how these men were his brothers. So, they didn't show Jaeyi talking with these men instead they skip forward to her already talking with kot-nim but from the previous scenes we could grasp that Jaeyi had approached those 2 men she saw before and talked to them.

2. It wasn't the time yet to rescue the children, the prince had more forces with Jaeyi dad still being alive and such. Rescuing the children at that time would lead to risking them to die quickly, they needed to weaken the enemy forces first. The reason why the children got to escape in the final episode is because Jae Yi dad already died and even Mujin, this allowed for Hongrang to easily kill the prince because he has been weakened, the white ghost was also killed too.

3. This confused me as hell too but I am just gonna base my understanding on the guy who exposed hongrang real identity, aka the one he worked as a slave for. From what I understood Hongrang was kidnapped first and got painted on by the prince then he became a slave to that guy and then lastly got adopted by kot-nim. I only understood it this way when the painting on Hongrang's back got exposed, the guy who exposed him as his slave knew about the painting on hongrang's back which indicates it was already there when he was a slave hence the prince painting on his back happened first.

Finally got the time to complete this today and I must say, Lee Jaewook is totally made for historical dramas. Everything about him in this genre just hits differently compared to his modern ones. I like his chemistry with Jo Bo Ah, no doubt both of them were spectacular here. This drama turned out to be darker than I had initially thought, although I found the story quite messy, nevertheless I still gave a rating of 8.5 simply because I enjoyed the acting performances of the main actors and some side characters.

This season easily became one of my favorite apart from S7 (watching it backwards), although one thing I noticed is that it seems to be shorter compared to other seasons maybe because they didn't have much opportunity to date outside and mainly stayed in the cabin but it was enjoyable to see their interactions, their friendship seems so genuine and hope they remain good friends for a long time. Everyone else is great but Leo is the only cast I didn't like at all and thought such a good hearted girl like Wan Yi deserved so much better. My only favorite couple this season is Belle and Genyuan, their confession scene also happens to be my most favorite out of all the confession scenes in this dating show. I'm so heartbroken to find out they had already broken up but to witness the beautiful love they had once shared is definitely worth remembering, I had never seen a dating pair with such great chemistry and their playful banters are so sweet and endearing. Rated 10/10 because of YuYuan.

Right. When watching it I just feel like they edited the scene tried to make it romantic with the song choice but it gave nothing.

I felt the same as you. They fell flat for me and at some point their date kinda felt scripted with the whole skating thing, I don't feel any sparks/chemistry between SY and JY they rather give friendship type of vibe.

Tbh, I am not bothered about the screen time since I got to see more of my fave ship (jimin & jeyeon). However, I do agree Je Yeon did get the most screen time in this episode which led to unfortunate cutting out of certain scenes of some of the cast members. I don't think it is her fault as well. The way I see it, the only reason she got that much screen time is thanks to Sang Yoon who picked her as his first date and showed interest only in her, and considering the fact he just recently joined so for sure the PD decided to give him as much spotlight as they could after all he is the supposed "catfish". I honestly wished they didn't had this whole "catfish" thing since it kind of doesn't make sense for a show based on marriage but I guess they really are aiming for sole entertainment purposes.

So true! they fit so well with each other like they had literal sparks during their date. Also, Chaeun seems like a girl who is really into Changhyeon so the effort to know each other goes both ways and is not one-sided. I liked their date in this ep a lot. The fact Chaeun admired him even more when she found out about her job.

I agree with you. Jeyeon and Woojae already had their closure.

I wasn't bothered by the amount of screen time too because they are my favorite couple. This is the first time where I didn't skip anything when I usually do for HS.
