Both the oil canvas painting and the song fits Sang Yan very well, the passionate young man who was trapped in the rain in Beiyu.

I agree, the beautiful shots deserves praises. I actually find the cinematography for this drama so visually pleasing, it has this dreamy and nostalgic vibe to it. Most especially the high school flashbacks were so cinematic and when they shot the intimate scenes, they were all so aesthetic.

Re-watching this for the second time around feels a whole lot different compared to the first, there's just so much nuances in this drama that it's able to evoke different shades of emotions and I find it hard not to dwell on these emotions as they constantly vividly linger no matter how I try not to. If the first time around you were watching and focusing on Wen Yi Fan's pov, the second should be for Sang Yan's pov and you'd notice he has yearned for her more than he did before.

Yes you are right, but since it's a drama they surely want to make her suffering believable so viewers can see her struggles well.

Same universe and FL character in HL, Sang Zhi is the younger sister of ML character Sang Yan in this drama. Sang Yan is also best friends with Duan Jiaxu who is the ML in HL. This is the only connection they have but otherwise these dramas are completely different stories, in this drama the story focuses solely on Sang Yan and Wen Yifan's love story.

Zheng Kejia is her step-sister, she is the biological daughter of the new husband of Yifan mom. As for the time where her mother supposedly got pregnant when she was still in high school, she had a miscarriage. Yifan's mother then got pregnant again and gave birth to her half-brother who was shown in earlier episodes.

She's not rich enough to afford a proper home for herself.

He did the same for me too. In my years of watching dramas I have never encountered a ML like him, he remains unrivaled.

It's honestly one of the best aspects which I have liked about the drama. For the first time they didn't use the excuse of being blood related or how she was her mother. What I found even more satisfying is how Wen Yifan had confronted her mother, her dialogues really cut deep to the throat and it was so satisfying to see her say those words, like she didn't just simply say I will no longer contact you, but the fact that she said outright that her daughter died on that night when her mother chose to ignore her had me applauding because that horrible mother deserves to suffer in her guilt.

I actually recently started writing my reviews in such a way, before it was a mess. It does indeed take time but I learned that you need to have an outline to have a proper review. You are right, he had made me an instant fan of him. He is a spectacular actor, so I am definitely going to look forward to seeing his future and past works. I am mostly a romance genre lover but for him I wouldn't mind diving into suspense/thrillers just to see his acting performance ✨

I honestly haven't move on, it is indeed a shame it ended too soon.
