Glad you gave this drama a chance. It's the same for me too, I am more inclined to dramas that have a lot of depth to them. Yes the best thing is visually good ; has a lot of spring vibes and I think that drama is more enjoyable for people who are into fluffier stories with less angst in them.

The First Frost has a slow pacing since the romance leans more to slow burn, however this type of pacing for the story does its justice, you honestly wouldn't feel the slow pace once you get to further episodes as there are a lot of depth into the story and at the same time it's eventful. You should give it a shot until episode 10. You will never truly know until you give it a try, sometimes the good dramas are the ones we least expected.
