I loved Victor Ma's portrayal of Sang Yan in Hidden Love as well, he was truly an iconic character there. However, as much as I have loved his portrayal of Sang Yan there, I understood that the Sang Yan that we know of in Hidden Love is just the Sang Yan that Sang Zhi knows of and not who the real Sang Yan is. Hidden Love only gave us a glimpse of how he is as an older brother to his sister while The First Frost takes us to see how he is, who he truly is coming from the eyes of his lover Wen Yi Fan. It might be hard at first but I hope you give this drama a chance and open mind because honestly, after completing this drama I could never bring myself to picture Sang Yan as the Hidden Love Sang Yan anymore, after knowing the real him in this drama, I could only see him as Sang Yan of The First Frost and Bai Jing Ting did a splendid job in giving life to this character, he is still the same Sang Yan but there is just so much depth to him now. He is more than just a brother. To add, both these dramas are told from the female leads point of view.

This drama has really set the bar so high and reawakened that indescribable magical feeling of why we were drawn to romance dramas in the first place. It's been a long while, this type of drama doesn't come around easily, and I feel lucky to have been able to watch this because I can't imagine life without TFF 🩵
