I didn't like this drama very much - I thought it was unfair and hypocritical in it's way of treating…
I never said marriages can't survive affairs :) - I said this one with the wife acting the way she did when being found out turned out unrealistic. The wife basically did everything wrong after being found out but sure you might find someone in this world who'd take her back but the odds of this is far lower than the other way. If you add in that Hyun Woo is pretty handsome and could without a problem find someone else then yes it's highly unlikely anyone in his situation in real life would take his wife back - as I said it seemed more as a wish fulfillment for women more than anything else.
PS: I might have used the wrong word when I wrote my first comment. I think improbable fits better than unrealistic.
I didn't like this drama very much - I thought it was unfair and hypocritical in it's way of treating the different characters. It felt more like a wish fulfillment drama for married women more than anything else. The drama basically follows two cheating storylines - one where the woman has done the cheating and one with a man doing the cheating. The one with the woman doing the cheating the writer decides to sympathize with her and throw tons of excuses for her cheating meanwhile the husband lawyer is shown as a pure scumbag. He is only there for the cheated wife to get back at him and make all the women watching the drama wet from "revenge". The husband is also basically there for the female viewers (he is pretty much a copy of the husband in Valid Love). I don't get how people are calling this drama realistic. The husbands character is so unrealistic - no way he would take his wife back after everything and her attitude after getting caught red handed.
The way the drama protected the wife from getting her information leaked publicly but at the same time sympathizes with the wife of the lawyer to publicly humiliate the mistress of her husband is pretty hypocritical... The mother giving son hell for cheating but when she finds out it's the wife then she's all understanding etc. The writer brings HW's ex-girlfriend only to criticize him for not wanting to be the bad guy and acting nice without taking responsibility. This is exactly what SY did when she cheated. SY didn't want to be the bad woman and risk her perfect wife image so she decided to keep up her front of being superwoman in control and instead had an affair. The writer threw those words unto HW instead by making up a sob story concerning his ex-girlfriend - the writer basically went out of his way to do it when he could just have a side character criticise SY for acting like that and cheating. The entire drama everyone is basically blaming HW for not being a mind reader and blaming him for not understanding his wife when she's the one not taking responsibility and opening up but instead opted for an affair.
In the end the drama is pretty much about the husband trying to apologize for and win his "victimized " cheating wife back... wish fullfilment for women? - pretty much.
