i'm 12 episodes in and i still have no idea how this has a 9.1 rating. the best i'll give it is probably 6.5.…
idk why but everything about this show feels too dramatised and too cliche.
-crazy psychopath murder boy turns out to actually be a misunderstood soft lover boy - all the characters are styled like cliche caricatures instead of actual people. how tf am i supposed to get sucked into a 'whodunnit' plot if you can tell who's good and bad from the start. kim moo jin is probably the only guy who looks and acts like a human being -on that note, other guy on the poster who looks like a killer and isn't introduced until like episode 8 turns out to actually be the killer everyone has been searching for. gee who would have guessed (granted, maybe this is netflix's fault) -devoted wife is unshakingly devoted because this show would end so much earlier if she actually was a detective with the strong sense of duty the show characterised her to have at the start
i'm 12 episodes in and i still have no idea how this has a 9.1 rating. the best i'll give it is probably 6.5. bored throughout (and i'm a sucker for crime thriller) and only finishing it because i hate to drop dramas
Beyond evil isn't really that popular or impactful, I don't know what the criteria is if recent season of penthouse…
well it's a good thing popularity isn't a factor because beyond evil was the best performer in the television category. got 7 nominations, 3 wins, and was the runner up for the daesang
not quite special powers but they are extraordinary to the point of superhuman because they were experimented on such that their brains became more capable. side effect is that the kids who were experimented on tended to die due to brain related diseases
halfway through this show and omg is this so incredibly slept on. one of the best mystery thrillers i've ever…
finished it and my god was it incredibly disappointing. after the intrigue in the mystery wore off, the plot became incredibly uninteresting, draggy, and boring. not only that, the sheer number of plot conveniences was infuriating. like wtf so you're telling me that do jeong woo, a murder suspect whose face everyone recognises, can just stroll around in bright daylight for 10 straight episodes? and that last 'emotional' scene becomes a joke when you realise that the writers just conveniently ignored how the white night village survivors who could blast through walls with their strength can't knock down a door with a flimsy metal lock (even if jamie can't, the thug guy was there so).
casting was excellent though so i guess they have that going for them.
this probably isn't a very popular opinion but while it was showstoppingly entertaining with some of the best and most daring anti-hero scenes i've seen in kdrama, it's not a masterpiece. there wasn't anything about the show that will stick with me weeks, months, or even years after it ends (except for maybe how baby han seo was abused by the writers). vincenzo honestly feels like popcorn; impossible to not enjoy while eating it, but lacking substance. granted, it is very good popcorn
What tf was that high schooler’s trauma about and why did they have to have a sex scene?? I get that sex was her way of rebelling against her parents but I’m confused about everything other than that
Vincenzo is the worse. The italian mafia are the most racist people in the world. It will take 30 years for an…
i mean they did show him receiving racist remarks, and in his family, it seems like he's only respected by the people who are loyal to the ex boss, which makes sense since he's the guy who brought vincenzo in and wholeheartedly raised him. also, plently of kdramas have way more unrealistic settings and plots, kinda weird to bring down a whole drama based on jsut its premise
I'm not sure what to think of this series. I'm a huge CSW fan, and I really don't like his characterization. A…
honestly the acting is one of the few things i'm enjoying about this show. the other older actors aside, which btw are giving amazing performances, i think csw is seriously carrying this 'fantasy' drama on his back. immaturity aside (which i think is more of a preference thing), i believe he's really nailing it. once again, when i see him on screen, i don't see cho seungwoo, or hwang simok, or ki dongchan, or any of his other roles but i just see han taesul. to me, that is the hallmark of good acting.
i can understand of the manchild-ness of taesul can be off putting but honestly i don't think it's unrealistic for taesul to be like that. from the more quiet scenes with just the people close to him around, you can see he's a lot more subdued, so i feel like his grand, iron man like personality is more of a front he puts on for the public, maybe to cope with his trauma.
I have no idea, I think she's not as pretty as many other actresses. However, her performances as an actress are…
speaking from someone who's only ever watched her in the call and sisyphus, i disagree with you. i think she's really pretty and i enjoyed her in the call, i couldn't understand why anyone would hate on her acting at all, but after 3 episodes of sisyphus i kind of get it. i don't think she (or her eyes) is very expressive, then again when it comes to acting with eyes, there has only been one actress who has blown me away which was iu in my mister.
anyway, i find psh's acting in sisyphus kind of unnatural. it's either SLIGHTLY too stiff or SLIGHTLY too over the top, resulting in a performance that isn't bad per se, but just ever so slightly off putting imo. think uncanny valley, but for acting
i'm seriously mad the plot and premise is really interesting and the acting is compelling (still kinda iffy about psh but i'll let that pass), and then they had to slap on those terrible cgi scenes. the use of green screen is just so damn obvious that it completely breaks my suspension of disbelief. i thought it'll just be a one-off with the airplane scene but it came back in ep 3... action scenes are also not great which is kind of, you know, bad for a fantasy action show
the worst thing is that the sci fi special effects are well done, it's just the green screen scenes that are bad. please just give us more characters and plot and less grand scenes with subpar execution
well i've only watched like 5 shows that depict married relationships going wrong, but so far i've found that it's always the guy's fault for being too much of a misunderstanding loser. meanwhile the woman is either strong and capable girl-crush kind of character, or a woman who had an affair because her husband wasn't attentive enough (or was too much of a misunderstanding loser). usually it's also the guy who realises his mistakes and repents in order to mend the relationship

(also kim myung min needs to be in more dramas wtf that voice...)
