I need help I am watching this drama and I must have missed something . Isn't there at least a year or more difference between these girls? Or did Solhi lie about her age? I won't consider it a spoiler I am righter clueless or missed something would appreciate anyone's help.

What I find even more crazy in this drama is the mistresses feel entitled , they actually feel that the wife is not good enough and they are much better for the husbands. Once a cheater always a cheater and their turn will come at least it does in real life with a few exceptions. You are right a lot of this drama is garbage trying to come across cute. I feel our views should reflect dramas and not get personal "Kannada" we are all entitled to our opinions and reviews.

I like this drama but just don't like all the deceit in the family and how they are all so hungry for power. I know it's a drama but it seems all Asian dramas no matter where they are set end up the same . Korean history to me is mind boggling the killing of brothers , mothers everyone that gets in they way of their power. I have now read a lot of Korean history and it seems that the dramas that claim to be true historical sites are true to form. I know all history has its evil stuff so no judgment just saying.

Good review I don't know much about Asian culture except what I read in books and have learned through dramas but it was my understanding that they wives loved being concubines just to be near a royal was enough for them. But watching these dramas I see they were women jealous ,petty and controlling and your right those things coupled with lies and deceit can destroy anything.

If you don't like the male lead I would like to suggest you watch Queen And I .
He is amazing and the chemistry of the lead actors went into real life which makes it more fun to watch. Of course what you like and don't like is strictly your personal choice just a suggestion if you do watch let me know if it changed you mind.

Really enjoyed your review and I had watched this some time ago and completely agree with you. I find I get infuriated with the Asian moms in these dramas , Korean more than others they are portrait so evil and controlling don't know how their kids grow up any way normal. I know it's a drama but it's the trend in Asian dramas to show the mothers as controlling to the point of crazy in my eyes. I do think the Asian writers like all writers draw from experience. I am going to watch it again for the good parts, thanks again your review was helpful and made me want to watch agai.

Personally think this is a good drama one of the reasons they call them dramas is the ups and downs. What I find hard to deal with is the narrow minds of the mothers in some cultures who act like their life will end if their kids don't marry who they choose for them. I guess it is cultural.

I know people love Jerry Yan and think he is a great actor I am not one of them. I think there so many better Taiwanese actors. I must say he does arongance really well and that's all. Just my opinion and as we know everyone has one and is entitled to express it.

I love this drama and agree main lead in this drama is expressionless and needs to stop taking the blame for people. Is it me or does anyone else hate Hauwicks sister? she is so evil and really wants her adopted brother for herself . I hope she gets shown for who she is.

At the time of this drama Taiwan as well as Korea had a lot of restrictions of what kissing actors could do. I thought they did not know how to kiss that's why so few kissing scenes but my Korean boyfriend at the time enlightened me that they were limit by broadcast law as to what could be seen, hope this helps to let you understand older dramas.

I started this drama three times and could not get into it for some reason. I got bored one day and was looking for a drama I had not seen and gave it a 4 try. I so agree with you the main actor Jajoong is one of the best Korean actors around ! I saw him in Dr. Jin where again he was amazing. You are right I think people are first drawn to his looks but his acting skills outweigh that. I think he will be very successful in the future. I hope writers and producers use him more in dramas. This can be bought subbed by TVB and they did a great job as good as fan subbed. I really appreciate they subbers who spent their time to do this for us who love Asian dramas and don't speak the language. Thanks

Just bought the series and it is interesting I thought Korean royalty was cruel and arrogant but this takes it to new level. I realize it is a drama but looked it hope and historically it's pretty accurate.in this version the give the Empress excuses for her cruelty. Actors are good the drama sometimes makes you feel like the characters are a little slow. How could Ruyi not know who was betraying her? It's very entertaining as well as enlighting.

I don't think so, but just my opinion this is a bad drama bad writing ,bad acting and even worse plots. The evilness is stupid and really unbelievable after 10 episodes could not endure one more minute. As I said just my opinion.

Reading the reviews I thought I would see for myself. I personally found it boring but I did like the actors. I know the concept was different and new so I tried to approach it from that point. I still did not find it interesting. As most people I like or dislike something this except for enjoying the actors at their craft left me cold. But this is just my opinion .

I agree we can't all like the same thing and variety like love makes the world go around. It's interpretation as well and the experiences that we have had. To some of us it's just a matter of simple opinion. No need to be sad for anyone.

I watched this and realized that bullying is universal I thought the U.S. Had that commodity. Even if it's a drama it is sad to see what kids have to go through while trying to get an education, I wish more parents could watch this so they could better help their kids in their growing up. I loved this drama one I will not forget.
