I'm not a fan of melos, but I'd be willing to watch if LMH was in it. I agree. Comedy doesn't seem to be his strong suit, but I would want him to grow.

I don't know why I can't finish BoF. I've tried and tried (mostly for LMH), but KHS just ruins it for me. (If you like it, that's okay. I'm just saying it doesn't work for me.) Perhaps it's because I'm so attached to HYD that I can't look past some things.

I totally agree. I love the King and Queen and most of the characters. LMH is so perfect looking as well. I think this show suffered from its being on the shelf for three years, plagiarism scandals, and cast changes. I hope too that LMH can find a drama that suits him, but perhaps has a different character type. As much as I like the noble idiot, revenge-filled or honor filled LMH, I don't want him to be stuck in this type forever. I mean, even in BOF (which I haven't watched all of) or PT (which I've watched most of), he played an arrogant guy who constantly pushes people away.

I know. I was glad that it still ended happily. I know some people might complain that KBD's blindness means that it didn't end happy, but I like that it was his decision to make. Have you watched it with subs yet?? KoD will be one of my fav dramas for a while I think because I am a writer and I really love that the main character was a writer. :D

Viki has not got the license for the drama yet. That is why it is not yet on the site nor subbed. I hope they are able to get it though. I don't want to wait for this drama.

I haven't watched all of these dramas. The furthest I got was through episode 10 of Hi, My Sweetheart. My favorite t-dramas are Hana Kimi Taiwan, Skip Beat, and Fondant Garden. I also liked Absolute Boyfriend (even though I hate the female lead).

I loved your article and I agree with you completely. One can learn so many aspects of culture through drama and because of drama. I first watched dramas to enjoy them, but now, I watch dramas to practice language and view culture. Good job!

Most of the j-dramas that I watched this year are on your list too! I haven't seen all of the list, though. I really like Suugaku Joshi Gakuen and GTO 2012. But I agree, Hungry, RMPW, Risou no Musuko, and Beginners! are all great!

I think that's cool. An actor who is cool in all of his roles (good or evil) is a good actor.

I saw Hiro first, but it was Hana Kimi, and I'm more obsessed with Oguri Shun. However, since then, I've seen a lot of Hiro works. It's hard when a favorites list must only have 5. I have lots of favorites.

*Bows down to the CH goddess* This article was fantastic! Even though my first drama was one of the girl-as-boy dramas, I had already been exposed to that cliche through manga. I agree that it's hard to describe why Asian dramas use those cliches without a base. Also, I completely agree about t-drama. I like it, but if it had been the first type of drama that I would have stumbled upon, I may not have cared for drama as much or at all. I just wanted to say that your advice is good. Thanks, City!
