I'm so tired of the second lead having no personality and being copy-pasted into every drama; it feels so forced these days. The second lead adds nothing to the plot.

Title Dazzling
I have been watching Chinese and Korean dramas for years, and I feel like recently the second lead character—the secondary love interest pursuing the female lead—has become so boring. He has absolutely no chemistry with the female lead. It is just so badly executed that he might as well not even be a character in the story because he adds nothing to it at this point. I have seen this in so many dramas. The secondary love interest is just a boring copied and pasted character into every drama we as viewers don't even like him. I don't know why they even bother putting in the plot of him even liking the female lead as anything other than a friend. There used to be a time when people actually rooted for the second lead because his character was likable and had chemistry with the female lead that is not happening in recent dramas.

As a dude I have to respectfully say FL is neither amongst the great beauties nor amongst the great talents. Whereas…
She is a good actress. Your reasoning for why she wasn't is because you don't find her pretty; she has just as much experience as him. She's been acting since she was a kid, just as he was. Be so for real. You are literally just a troll.

Growing up is realizing how weird this drama was. I watched this when I was 14, thinking it was cute because I was obsessed with student-teacher relationships. However, the drama is honestly so weird because why is she in high school and the ML is her teacher who is 35 I just thought back to the drama because I'm watching The Dazzling, and I remembered that this is the first drama that I saw Guan Xiao Tong in. It just makes me realize that the only reason why a lot of young girls like me thought that this kind of trope was cool and cute is because of media, because of TV shows and movies like this that romanticize it. It's weird that this kind of media is literally fed to us to make us think that this is something that we want.

It isn't gender, it's class. It was explained, he doesn't know how to do any of those things, because he's a rich…
Comparing the male lead to Elon Musk is ridiculous. Not at all, even a close comparison. And why are you acting like rich people can't do things for themselves? He has a job, and he can't take the trash out or do the dishes or do his laundry. And if it really was that he never learned he could watch a he could watch a tutorial, he could even ask her how she did it, and then he could learn it; he just fakes being incompetent. Not to mention how disrespectful it was when he said that she should just focus on being a maid and that he would pay her to do his chores. She went to college and got degrees just so she could get her job he said  you know what you should be a maid instead because you're a good cook When he knew that she just wanted to get her job back and not be a maid

Exactly he fakes incompetence so that she'll do everything for him I don't care if he grew up as a spoiled rich kid he's in his 30s and he should be doing his own chores No one wants to do chores, but they're your chores, so you should do your own chores, not have someone else do them for you, especially someone who's your roommate. Do you think she wants to do them

I love Tan Jian Ci as an actor, but his character in this drama is annoying me. I really don't like the gender roles; I don't like the female cooking and doing all the chores. Like, can he not do it? Can he not cook for himself? Can he not do his own chores?

I'm not saying that Esther Yu is not a good actress I love her in My journey to you however in this drama her baby voice is just really extreme and it's just unnecessary I wish that she would just use her real voice and not her baby voice

What does reverse harem mean and what would it look it here?
One female lead surrounded by multiple male love interests, something like Lost You Forever From what I've heard, the novel was a reverse harem; they just didn't put that in the drama, so Xie Yanlai, Xiao Xun, Xie Yanfang, and Deng Yi would have been the love interests. In the novel there was still the one main male lead, Xie Yanlai. But she was also surrounded by the other love interests who were pursuing her.

I definitely feel like this drama needed more episodes, like 32 episodes or 40 episodes, not 24 episodes. 24 episodes is Enough for most modern romance Chinese dramas: It's not enough for a historical political drama. Another thing I feel like they did wrong was remove the reverse harem. I feel like it really needed a reverse harem in the story to add depth to the plot.

Why are we only getting one episode a day? I've seen with Ashes to Crown as well. Is there a reason and is this happening to the all the newer cdramas ?
