That was an interesting turn of events for ep 31 to 32. It focused more on politics , state affairs and the turmoil…
“The only way to get thru to her is to explain the consequences and the delicate matters in the palace, not give her a warning without explanation, then expect her to blindly follow.” In this regard I’m very similar to CSS since I’m just as stubborn— if you don’t explain the why and the consequences, don’t even bother convincing me to do anything you want. So I agree, he’s partly at fault for expecting her to be submissive when he fell for her stubbornness & fairness. And also for failing to explaining the consequences under the guise of calling it too ‘complicated’.
I guess what ss did to the 3rd princess at the altar of general Huo wasn't wrong. After all, almost the entire…
Damaging your fiancé’s most esteemed uncle’s altar isn’t disrespectful? Plus if we’re bring in culture, isn’t it very well known that in Asian cultures, destroying an altar or making a lamp fall down or setting someone on fire are all considered very inauspicious and disrespectful? Isn’t it also highly inconsiderate to do all these things when your fiancé & the Emperor are grieving and probably need a peaceful memorial without any hiccups or drama?
NN setting fire is disrespectful . But 3rd princess behavior is also disrespectful. Blowing that powder. So, what…
Firstly, in asian culture, it's extremely disrespectful and inauspicious to cause the lamp to fall during memorials or any other important events/festivities. Where I'm from, even a 3 year old knows this. Even without considering etiquette, LBY and the Emperor were visibly very upset and grieving so was it necessary to exact revenge on that day just because of some incense being blowed in her face?? It's just basic respect. If my loved ones was grieving for a family member, I wouldn't damage the altar of someone they love and respect. It shows she is neither inconsiderate of the dead nor LBY's feelings.
Secondly, when has NN ever let bygones be bygones and ignored injustices against her? She always gives back what she gets so she's no way like the Empress. There is a time and place for revenge and this wasn't it. Also it wasn't urgent. Having some incense blow in your face doesn't mean you need to set someone's robes on fire. That's just ridiculous. She was being petty there. There are better ways to stand up for yourself.
Thirdly, yes we like Consort Yue but why do you think she's so brave? It's because she has a powerful family backing her up and the Emperor loves her then most. She's also extremely just and respectful while being very smart about her actions and their implications. Remember, when she started talking about Huo family and how she would reveal to the world the Lady Rouyang's deeds, she sent all the princes and princesses out. She knows how such words could cause the youngsters to behave differently. She also understands why the Emperor cares so deeply about the Huo family and respects them & LBY so much because of it. That's called being empathetic and being considerate of your loved one's feelings. Can you say the same about CSS who deliberately destroyed the altar just for some petty vengeance?
A clever, considerate person like her would never make a dumb move like NN did. NN is smart too but she’s extremely impulsive. NN never knew the 3rd princess wore fancy clothing under her memorial robes so it wasn’t a solid vengeance plan. She simply wanted to set her robes on fire for petty ‘eye for an eye’. What if the Princess was hurt or even worst killed? Do you think anyone can protect NN then? Thankfully, nothing unfortunate happened and the royal family didn’t punish NN even though they knew it was her.
Both logically and empathetically, it wasn’t a smart move.
The family is all reunited now- our Divine tortoise, our cute lotus spirit & also our handsome 9 fins. I never would have guessed the Mountain Chief was our divine tortoise. What a wonderful surprise.
Ep 21 was so lighthearted and fun. I low-key don’t want YY to meet them & cause suffering and angst all over again 😆
YD: “Mountain chief. I met you before. I was in the carriage. Your horse flipped the carriage when I was inside. I almost reverted to my true form.” YM: “Is that so? What a coincidence. What should I do then?” YD: “Since we’re fated to meet again, why don’t you let me stay? You can let me stay and heal my injuries. What do you think?” YM: “Just what I wish for.”
YM: “So do you want to stay in my arms longer?” 😳😳💘💘💘
I’m swooning so hard 💖💛 I don’t know about you but I’m 100% team Yu Mo 💝
Well, it's so NN. To be impulsive and get back at someone who wrongs her. She's learning the palace etiquette…
I hope so. She has to learn that her behaviour outside the palace cannot be continued inside the place. But if I’m being fair, she was way more shrewd in the early episodes. She was super careful when revealing to her parents the injustices she suffered at hands of her aunt and granny. Always playing innocent & naive without attacking upfront. I wish some of that sneaky cleverness could be used when dealing with the princesses.
I agree. There is a time and place for revenge... and a memorial for your fiance's most esteemed uncle was probably…
Exactly. NN never knew she wore fancy clothing under her memorial robes so it wasn’t a solid vengeance plan. She simply wanted to set her robes on fire for petty ‘eye for an eye’. Thankfully, nothing unfortunate happened and the royal family didn’t punish NN eventhough they knew it was her.
1. I’m scared for CSS when she threw those balls and made the Third Princess trip. Also when she set her cloak on fire. It was funny but these are powerful people, I don’t want her to get into trouble.
2. I think that NN setting the 3rd Princess’ cloak on fire is quite disrespectful to the Huo family since it’s their Memorial Day. LBY shed a tear and the king was depressed. I know this was a great opportunity for vengeance but it also felt a little inconsiderate.
3. Despite my dislike for NN’s mom and their rocky relationship, I really want them to understand each other & know that they do care about one another.
I think we have been disappointed with a string of them with bad or dissatisfactory endings, so I believe people…
I think you should judge each series on its own and not factor in previous disappointments when rating unrelated dramas. That would be quite unfair to the actors, writers, director and the whole entire team who worked hard to make this show a reality. If you're apprehensive about the show having a bad ending, don't vote until it is over. By giving a low score now, it will dissuade a lot of viewers from watching an amazing drama and missing out on something they might potentially enjoy.
