I feel that YX is marring TH because BY pushed her away. There were so many times that YX asked or indirectly asked if they had a relationship in the pass. Each time BY denies anything. There is only so much time a girl can get rejected. If he was more open/truthful to her than they could both work it out. Its the typical miscommunication in C drama land. But hey Im just watching this for the prettyness and LHY suffering beauty 🤭

Was thinking the same. I think they tipped the balance to have ML on screen more therfore it messes up the whole story. On one hand I love seeing ML more but on the other hand the story telling is a mess. Mayb just an in experienced director/editor?

Mayb its the other way round. Am I correct in thinking BY has an mysterious illness that maybe only ginseng can cure/sustain him. Therefore whenever YX gets close/touches him she looses some of her roots. Maybe this could kill her. Obviously he loves her and doesnt want that and thats why he also scolded her when she put some in his medicine. BY servant say they couldnt find any ginseng anywhere (and maybe he is on a side mission roaming the land to find some). Therefore he cant let her be with him or let her like him. 🤷‍♀️
However I dont know how everything else fits in or where the story is going 🤔

Yes Im also intrested why BY has closed his heart off to her. He is so hostile to the FL. Looking forward to when she begins to melt that cold exterior of his.

Im one of those who has been waiting for this to come out ages ago and before TBOY was ever in the picture. So Im grateful its even getting the light of day (lots of dramas are never released lol).
Im enjoying this so far for what it is (my expectations was never too high for this one) even though the editing is a bit choppy.
Am I the only one internally screaming at the fact we get to see Li Hongyi half naked multiple times in this 😍🤣

Agree. I normally watch dramas on 1.5x speed but I watched this normal to savour every episode (also sometimes the subtitiles were too fast for me, I dont normally have problems reading that fast 😅)

LBTI was my first Li Hong Yi drama and I was shocked too caus I thought he was at least 25 years old only to find out he was only about 19 when he played that role. I think he came across older more mature character. It would be great if he could play unhinged anti-hero again caus he did it so well.
I dont mind if the drama he is in is big budget or not as long he gets good characters to play. I think he is an underatted actor but with some improvement he could be awsome. He is definitely an actor to watch out for the future, he was great as Xiao Se. Im predicting he could be another Wang Hedi/Gong Jun with the right role.

I interpted the extra cut scene (consensual kiss when FL was maid) differently:
For me there are two scenarios the director wanted to go. This cut scene was after she 'lost' her memory so either
1: She did actually loose her memory (albeit very short term). So when she consensualy kisses him, its because she doesnt have the burdon of their past and affectivly she sees him as a nice guy and a very attractive one lol
2: She is playing him and acting as if she has lost her memory and so she goes along with the kiss, but realises she is actually very attractive to him.
In the cut scene its not explicity shown that they slept together when she was a maid. However I know that when there is kissing and they blur the camera its often insinuated that they go to bed together lol.
So in the scene afterwards where FL finds the jade pendant and he breaks it and he is soft/protective with her would make more sense (he has fallen hard for her). Also where ML is drunk and pulls FL with a force kiss after she announces she is marrying nephew makes more sens to me. He ask her the time they were together actually mean anything. She says explicitly no and also state they did not sleep together. So in my eyes I dont think they actually do the deed untill the confesion scene.
ML thought the FL actually had feelings for him and so was upset that she chose nephew.
