i would say chu guihong is one of the most well-written villains in cdrama. we didn't sympathize with his descent to madness but the writers packed enough backstory to make us understand the drive behind his choices. i would even go as far as CGH is written better than SYM.

re ep 29: as much as i like that nanheng is exonerated from his accusation, it still sucks only the emperor and CGH got their injustice addressed. they've been awful to nanheng all these times and still, they'd probably feel that their aggression on him is justified bcs the real killer is his uncle T_T

watch his corruption arc get foiled at the end, though! likely by realizing nanheng was never behind his aunt & father's death.

currently on ep 17 and don't mind spoiler. when will song yimeng finally realized her script was actuallly wrong and start to work together with nanheng? is it anytime soon?
