i must say Wei Yan is such an interesting character in this drama. shout out to Liu Duan Duan, it’s my first…
i've only seen another work of liu duan duan -the rebel princess- and there he also played a layered character. he is really good at it too. apparently he was (is?) a theatre actor so maybe there's something there.
i cant believe there's not one discussion made here lol what? that's crazy, i feel bad for the people who won't…
i'm pretty sure during its airing, this drama is not that popular with international audience. hence, the lack of discussion here. if you're interested, dramabeans has recap & discussion page on every eps. in the earlier discussions they even had a historian (or history enthusiast?) who fact checked all the american stuffs mentioned in the drama.
here because xuanlu's character in Prisoner of Beauty: lady e huang was engaged to bo gong until his death, and she's still bitter over it. guess who's bo gong played by? gao weiguang! lol
fellow LLTG fans! don't you guys feel the similarity between this drama & lltg? i'm talking about the camera language! the frame sizing, the filter, and the backtrack!
currently on ep 12 and i'm so anxious seeing the cousin trying to wreck weishao & xiaoqiao's marriage. is this problem still happening until the latest eps? or is it already resolved somewhere between ep 12 and 20? (obviously) i don't mind spoilers
ep5. oh the wedding attire are gorgeous! the wedding rites are also new. wonder if it's accurate? and since she's the only one who do the rites properly, does their marriage even counts?
i read the novel when i was young. i was intrigued by the synopsis. come to think about it, the book was probably my very first intro to anything c-culture. now that i'm much older though... rip my teenage self you would've gotten crazy hearing your favorite novel being adapted to the screen.
there's also wu haochen as one of liu yuning's general! in his usual projects he never played a one dimensional character! i wonder if his character here would be intriguing too! so many familiar faces!
