i don't really like how they wrapped up the conflict between the emperor vs yanxi. it's just too lazy. reminded me a lot of how this director wrapped up the emperor's act in SoKP. is it censorship? is the director a royalist? or simply using emperors are plot device? i'm not sure lol.

story of minglan definitely topped those two dramas lol + it has zhao liying and similar background setting with blossoms of adversity

if you enjoyed the director's works then you're going to love this one. he had really stepped up from SoKP with this drama, keeping all the good from that drama and get rid of the bad points.

it's worth watching but definitely not the same genre with mlc

i stopped watching running man a long time ago. the new format made it less fun, but it can't be helped since the casts are also getting older and unable to do as much as physical games as in the past. I'll definitely check the last three episodes you mentioned! thanks!

hmm this one is a bit tricky. the cinematography quality for this one is definitely below LLTG but above many other historical cdramas. With LLTG you can't tell it was filmed in studios, this one you can feel the studio-ness.

i binged through few episodes then just realized this drama has still some episodes left to air :( and it will air even longer in viki lol

i would go as far as saying this is better than love like the galaxy, at least story wise. You probably won't find it that way though if you just finished LLTG and loved it.

back when it first released the stars were only lee minho and parkshinhye. the heirs were many of the supporting actors' break out work. The low rating, most likely, is because the story doesn't hold up towards time lol.
