This one was actually a proper harem drama with an intelligent, kind and sophisticated FL at the helm. What I particularly like about this drama is it portrays realistic power dynamics and struggles between the characters. You don't have a maid here acting like she's the Grand Empress Dowager. If you like campy, sassy and over the top FL then I direct you that other drama.
Sorry for mentioning another girl here but I wish the main actress was Bai Lu, I think her character can fit Jin…
As I watching this I was thinking Peng Xiao Ran would have been perfect for the role plus she'd look well match with Ren Jia Lun. Bai Lu would also look good. I think we can agree Seven Tan did not look the part.
God only know how this drama became so popular in China. For such a popular and possibly higher budget offering I was stunned by how amateurish and poorly shot the scenes were. Not much cinematography or beautiful natural scenery to speak of. Need I mention I saw a clear as fake diorama that was pass off as some sort of rock spire filled raven. It was when the 2nd ML fell off a cliff. Tragic! I just had to chuckle at that moment. Ren Jialun was the only saving grace for this drama. He is quite a charismatic actor but I am not sold on his chemistry with Tan Songyun. She is cute but she's a bit too plain for my taste. This looks like it's going to be on my on hold list indefinitely.
I like Leo Wu. I think he is a fairly good actor but I feel he still has that youthful vibe and somewhat lacks the maturity to pull off being general of a warrior tribe. I was hoping to see him in another good drama after watching Fights Break Spheres but since season 2 won't be without him or won't be film at all I am left waiting. He has a drama airing but I won't watch that one because I just finished watching Novoland Eagle Flag and I've had my quota of Lareina Song dramas for this year. I did watch a few bits from this drama and it looks like he's become taller and more buff so maybe he can pull off this part but I still feel someone with a bit more edge and older looking would fit the bill more. Qu Chu Xiao would have been ideal. Someone like Xu Kai who gives the same vibe as QCX would also do well. Also the ML from Goodbye My Princess, Zhang Ruoyun, Ren Jialun etc..
A thoroughly enjoyable drama so far. Really underrated. How come I've never heard of this? The 2 male leads are popular and I really like George Hu ever since Love Now. God knows I was unaware he had a Chinese college drama. One of the best sport's dramas I've seen actually one of the few that's not making me drop it after a few episodes.
It's great to see a rookie ML performing his role well. Good range of emotions, endearing and obviously very handsome. I've just finished watching Dr. Cutie and the acting of the ML was a big disappointment. This is likely a low budget drama but I am liking the fact it does not come off as unnatural looking because they are not relying on cheap special effects and studio sets.
Beautifully shot and production value is top notch. I've yet to see a drama that can match its production value. If you like gorgeous props and sets then this one is for you. The acting is on point but sadly cannot save the atrocious storyline.
I did not expect nor wanted to watch this kind of train wreck like the last few episodes. This had been an extremely well done drama until they had too put all sorts of crap and problems on the characters and now I am losing interest. Fan Xing, her family and childhood friends and their drama are annoying the hell out of me. Good news is Yuan Song and Meiyin jiejie are still wonderful and have their heads screwed right. Also great to see Cong Xiao have character development unlike the frustratingly stagnant FL.
Fan Xing and the annoying relationship expert Song Xue have such shallow and naive views about marriage. Talk about talking out of their a**. I really feel people who have such aversion to marrying should not be the ones giving out advise when a problem in a marriage arises.
Dropped at episode 6. ML has terrible character (i.e. selfish, mysogynistic, manipulative) for a 2020 drama. ML's…
You seem to be the only one here who has that idea. I am loving the male lead. Obviously guys like him don't exist in real life. The FL though is about a dime a dozen.
Just started this on Dramacool like two days ago and I’m hooked. But that Team Legends’s manager, Zhao or…
I'm only a few episodes in and I'm already wishing that manager to be run over as he is crossing the street. He is that annoying and vindictive. His more reprehensible than any of Thalia's crazy and jealous antagonists.
Glad to see Peng Xiao Ran in another lead role but the main guy's look is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too baby for her,…
Only 6 years difference but CZY looks way too young. I like him in Handsome Siblings though and he delivered a solid performance there. He makes a very convincing wuxia protagonist.
Can't they introduce one proper second female lead for a change...I mean a sane one who doesn't do devious shit...…
Of the female leads Minmin is the least calculating and devious one. I was irritated by her at the beginning but as story progressed I started to realized she is the most honest one among the female leads. The FL is insecure and immature. Yuan Song is the one carrying their relationship and he is like a decade younger. Cong Xiao is starting to grate me. She pines for Chuang Huan while at the same time relentless in her pursuit in catching a rich husband. I was hoping they would end up together but now I would feel bad for Chuang Huan if he ends up with someone whose main goal in life is climbing the social ladder.
I won't be suffering from Second Lead Syndrome with this one.
He provides comic relief though. His monologue while doing Tai Chi in episode 12 had me ROTFL. I hope he does get someone at the end. Just not Fan Xing or Cong Xiao.
Hilarious drama. One of the few wuxia dramas that I've actually managed to finished the past year. Usually I watched and get bored after a few episodes. This one kept me entertained to the end. Wang Wu is an absolute gem. Sandrine Pinna's comedic talent and timing is one of the best I've seen. A rare talent in Chinese dramas. Most actresses in China have the same morose facial expression no matter what the scene. Glad to see someone with a lot more virtuosity in that department. Also loved the sweet bromance between Wang Lu and Xiao Hai.
I am hoping Cong Xiao ends up with her colleague. It's pretty clear the two have considerable attraction with each other and what looks like a longstanding unfulfilled relationship. Their bickering is hilarious.
