On Sungkyunkwan Scandal Aug 7, 2020
Soon to be 10 years but this drama never gets old. It helps that it's a sageuk drama and it doesn't become dated like modern drama from a decade ago. I am currently watching the Chinese remake but this one just hits differently. Perfect cast and engaging story.

Sungkyunkwan Scandal is certainly more realistic, memorable and the characters more likeable. I find this version a bit too fantastical and idealistic with leads who have slow character development and relationship growth. If your watching this because you love SKKS then it might not be up to standard.

yo guys im still feeling extremely happy about the casts and Tencent's confirmation about this drama. Reba and…
I agree Gu Man is not a gifted writer but she does have uncanny talent of drawing people to her works.

Title In a Class of Her Own Spoiler
Lei Ze Xin really gets on my nerve. Seriously! All these episodes in and I still don't like him. This guy is in a constant pity party. I hate his arrogance of expecting people to cater to his whims and eccentricity completely forgetting the fact that the only reason people even indulge his capriciousness is because he is the son of a powerful nobleman.

Bi Wen Jun is giving his role some justice. His really earning himself some nice OTP points. I might flip if the slow as tortoise romance between the ML and FL continue in the upcoming episodes.

Another news came out today that You Are Glory is on hold due to Yang Yang fans who think that his management…
I haven't seen Deng Lun in a gaming drama. I would love to see them pair up again since they had lovely chemistry in Sweet Dreams. Honestly that was the only thing that keep me from watching it. I think a mellow and more laid back romcom like this one would be perfect to showcase their pairing.

nooooooo! not yang yang! he is so overrated and I dont understand why people like him but i still respect it.…
You could not even name Xiao Zhan among a line of secondary actors before the Untamed and your now calling Yang Yang overrated. 真是!

Lei Ze Xin's me against the world drama is so tiresome and overdone. I wouldn't shed a tear if his character suffer the lead role death trope in Chinese dramas. The good news is I won't be suffering from SLS in this drama. The main leads have great chemistry and the other roles are just meddling between them.

Wow bashing the female lead’s looks was NOT necessary.... especially since beauty is subjective and you might…
It was a passing comment on dramas penchant for these types of relationships. I suppose people these days consider that opinion a bit offensive? It required a little more subtlety. I should have called her cute and bubbly and that would have satisfied some people's sensibilities.

I'm sorry, did I hear you right (gasp)...Wow, ? what a shallow comment. So if a FL is not beautiful according…
Thankfully I'm not one of those that act shock just because someone has a less than generous opinion on things. Is it bad to have standards or does everyone these days require a pat in the back? As I said I was pining for classic beauties in these dramas because they are a rarity these days. No need for the faux outrage.

Love this plot but sigh! I am getting jaded watching dramas where good looking ML is head over heels over plain looking FL with a spunky personality. I think I've just watched a little too many of them recently. Why can't I get more clasically beautiful lead actresses like Peng Xiaoran, Wang Zixuan or Dilraba in these type of dramas.

Where to watch episodes
It's on Dramacool. The resolution is terrible though. I'm still searching for the HD version so I can rewatch again. A couple of episodes are uploaded on YT but that's about it. I am hoping it gets pick up by Netflix or MGTV upload the entire series on their channel.

This one has had more drama behind the camera than the drama itself. The superstar lead actress unceremoniously fell from grace and is just slowly returning from her pariah status. The male lead was accused, replaced in his role and then acquitted. Then one of the secondary male leads was once the fiance of the FL. An absolute shitshow altogether. I still hope this sees the light one day. For PXR's sake and also it would be a damn shame if the 70 million spent on production is wasted although half of that was probably FBB's talent fee.

Bai Youning definitely did not endear herself in the beginning but she did grow and improve as the drama progressed. I would have preferred they had done away with the romance and stayed as a story of a trio of crime solving colleagues but I guess it was a natural progression for Lu Yao and Bai Youning to become lovers. I watched Detective L after this but had to drop it. That was a bit too artsy and avant garde for my taste. It was like some hipster French movie. This one is a lot more straightforward but somewhat simplistic. I am hoping for season 2.

If people who complain about Chinese modern dramas were truly diligent and observant then they'd find out dramas like All Is Well or Betty Sun's recent drama do exists but then since international fans don't bother with them they'd rather go watch a currently airing drama that's popular abroad that has a generic and overused plot and then complain about how unoriginal they are.

This is weird. I don't know why some people even bother. It's written there clearly this is a CEO and assistant…
It's the same criticism rehash over and over. And no there are other types of CEO dramas and I do see different characterizations. The recent ones I watched like Love Designer and My Love Enlighten Me do not have the same feel and their plotlines are certainly not the same. As I said before there are other modern dramas but obviously there not as popular. I think it would be disingenuous to assume that CEO and high school dramas are all that is to it in Chinese entertainment because there the only that have a following abroad. I'm pretty sure if you'd ask a Chinese person a good modern drama to recommend it would be much more varied than some people assume.

Chinese directors should really stick to historical dramas..they seriously suck when it comes to modern dramas.…
This is weird. I don't know why some people even bother. It's written there clearly this is a CEO and assistant drama. I'd expect anyone who don't watch this kind of genre to pass up instead of sharing "valuable" wisdom. This plot and youth dramas are pretty much staple in Chinese entertainment and are hits internationally. The other modern dramas don't get far from Chinese borders.

I'm loving this. First drama in a long time where I've watch episodes as soons as it airs. Their relationship is evolving nicely. Nothing worse than watching a couple get together quickly and then watching multiple breakups.

This is one drama I want to erase from my memory if possible. From the beginning till the end there was no happiness…
Such a superficial remark but then again the wooly eyed sheep who only want to see happiness will never ever understand and appreciate this kind of thought provoking drama.
