LYF in costume is always a must watch.

Chu Ling Long is full of hot air. Reading the synopsis you'd think she's some sort of cultivation genius.

The only reason I could finish this is because of Lu Han otherwise I'd have dropped this pronto. ML is so weak. Even when he started to gain power and ascend cultivation he relapses into a useless tool. The worst bit of this drama is the ML falling into schemes and getting accused of something again and again. It got irritating to a point. Writer has zero originality and turn the ML into a pathetic Cinderella character.

I'll give this drama a 9.0 if in the end they kill the ML's mother/empress, her maid, her nephew, his future parents in law, the weak head of the 6 academies etc. Why did they put so many unlikeable characters in this drama?

So many petty and annoying people you just want dead in this drama. This is like some Mexican telenovela meets cultivation with Lu Han playing the hapless heroin who's the target of endless scheming.

Oh dear this thing went downhill fast. Starting from Wu Youdao turning batshit and going on a killing rampage. So crazy they make it sound he deserve an ounce of sympathy. The story pretty much goes down the drain from this point on. So disappointed because it started well.

I just hope this one gets tied up in the end better than the last 2 Novoland dramas. I'm still left hanging by Tribes and Empires until now.

I am enjoying Dance of the Phoenix but seeing some clips of this drama I can tell it has better production value and more substantial plot. It also showing on TV so that's a plus.

That's a laughable commentary when Dance of the Phoenix, The Heiress and Love and Redemption are airing right now not to mention some office dramas that just aired to satisfy modern sensibilities.

I would have finished Noble Aspirations if he and Yang Zi's character became an item. I would like to see a reunion between the 2.

I'm still on the Li Xian and Yang Zi ship but eagerly waiting for this one.

This is essentially a rewriting of Go Go Squid. Sadly the second season is not going to feature most of the original actors. I think it would have been better if they wrote new characters instead of riding on Go Go Squid popularity, butchering the story and then recasting the actors. We are obviously not talking about the same characters and plotline here.

Honestly I preferred the fat Zhao Ge to the thin one. That girl had a lot more personality and was outgoing. The new one has turn into an introvert whose only existence is to flirt with Yi gege. She is the weakest character here. That said most of the characters here have good characterizations including the villains.

I like Leo Wu but I felt he was too young for the role and watching the trailer nothing has changed in my opinion. I'll watch this as I like both leads. I'll just fast forward Zhao Lusi's part. After 3 dropped dramas in a row where she was the lead and suffering each time from her inane bratty acting, I was hoping I was going to be save from seeing her again.

Good news FL is actually believable as a male. The bad news she is so freaking annoying and rude you wonder why she has not been killed. Can't be bothered continuing. Dropped at first episode.

I think this role is a good match for Lareina. Her past few roles I think have been a mismatched. Her acting is a great match for romcom. If she develops well I think she could go back to doing more serious drama. Also I read she placed third in the national college examinations in China. Smart girl and definitely well suited for this drama.

I just realized it's Imperial Concubine Mei in Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace playing the lead.

There's plenty of that in Hollywood and I have zero interest in watching them.

LZX is such a drama queen. What a total 360 from Yoo Ah In's endearing character. I understand they want to differentiate from the original but at least make sure he is at least semi likeable. YLX would have been a better love rival.

Are Xiao Zhan and Li Qin in the same agency? I noticed they've appeared together in several dramas already.
