A beautiful drama. i mean it, the flowers, the ost, the vibe, the wedding, their love.. everything was beautiful.…
apparently the crew spent 3 days just prepping the flower petals (separating them by hand) and setting up the wedding venue. They really are not sparing any efforts till the end!
feeling so bittersweet bc it's over ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ i've been savoring the last episodes but there's no more Su Fan to look forward to everyday..
honestly though, i'm not kidding when i say this will probably my #1 comfort drama of all time. some may argue that He Suye's character is unrealistic bc he's too green of a flag but come on, The Best Thing showed us how beautiful love can be. Love doesn't need to be so complicated and "deep" for it to be beautiful - everyone and anyone deserves to at least feel those tingly butterflies.
The end notes are so so beautiful, to love yourself first before anything. The OSTs are impeccable, they set the tone and vibe of the scenes amazingly, Niu niu and ruo han are such good kissers and they embodied their roles so well. Ahhhhh I can gush for days about this show :')
This is Niu's first proper modern romance drama and man he blew everyone away. While i love hengdian holding him hostage (Zhu Yu pls finish filming soon I want to meet General Xie!!), he proved to be versatile enough to act other genres too.
The promotions for this drama is going great, ratings are higher than anyone expected for a small ip and the casts are gaining recognition for their acting. Life is good :)
He suye and Shen Xifan, please be happy always!!!!!
i'm watching this drama, episode 37. The ML and 2nd ML standing to the side while there is full on fight going…
hmm personally i found that scene to be really believable especially since this wasn't the only instance where he had to depend on his bodyguards to protect him. Yes he was raised by Pingnan a war lord but they did mention he was mainly raised and worked for him as a strategist and not a fighter. Throughout the drama they portray xie wei to always be with his beloved qin, books and quick wit - the epitome of a scholar.
I do think it's really well thought out and realistic that both xie wei and zz were shown to be 'weak' and have their guards protect them since both were written to mainly have their brains as swords.
But well, there's always the possibility that sure xie wei learnt martial arts when he was younger but chose not to continue practicing it, thus he knew he wasn't a match for the well-trained xingwu guards/assassins. tomato tomato, i personally don't think it's a plot hole
6 episodes/week (broadcasts thursday-saturday), but the first 8 episodes were released on the premiere day. 1 May will have the last 3 episodes released instead of 2 since there's 31 episodes in total.
Is there any love triangle or crazy villian in this drama( because f*ck those) and in which ep main lead starts…
no love triangle or crazy villain! you can tell from the start that the leads are endgame :') and ML officially confesses in ep 18 but tbh they're practically stuck like glue since early episodes when they found out they were childhood friends so there's plenty of sweet moments since early on!
same here! i created an account just so i can comment.. can't help but swoon over the ML and FL.. they look so…
oh wow! comments said that google translate works well for the novel so maybe ill check it out soon! it's interesting that you prefer the drama (based on the teaser) over the novel, it's usually the other way round haha!
And yeah... subs can take a while, i'm fortunate enough to be able understand mandarin but i do get the frustration when watching medical/crime shows in raw, too many jargons so i still need subs ???
i created an account to comment just bc i love the storyline so much TT__TT
initially i was so hesitant to take this drama up because it's ANOTHER contract marriage plot, with the unfortunate disappointment of Midsummer is full of love (my first watch of full house because i didn't watch the previous versions), i was afraid that the plot is going to be another cliche and predictable.
BUT! I love how they smashed all the predictabilities like having the contract exposed at the climax of the drama or having a dramatic love triangle or even an emotionally constipated ML/FL (we'll get more to that later).
1. The contract was exposed early on the in the drama and did not bring about much repercussions which brought huge relief to me because i've enough of waiting in agony for this to be the climax. The fact that it was exposed so early allows the viewers to see how genuine their feelings develop because they don't have to put on an act in front of other people and cheat themselves.
2. Yes there's another guy interested in the FL but she cleanly rejects him and he respects her decision, no obsessive second lead to hate!
3. ML is logical and has minimal emotions prior to having feelings for her but it's sooooo cute seeing how he talks to his friend and wants to understand what he feels to better get close with the FL.
Their relationship (after the confessions) is so diabetic i have to take breaks every few minutes to squeal. This is the first drama of Miles where I'm consciously aware of his presence because he's always playing support and he's so damn charismatic. Ruo han embodies yun shu so perfectly, her voice, expressions and mannerisms make me want to keep her in my pocket TT______TT.
ALSO PLEASE WATCH THEIR BTS SCENES ON YOUTUBE, THEY'RE NATURALLY SO SWEET AND TOUCHY WITH EACH OTHER OFF CAMERA, I'M SUS YOUR HONOR!
TL:DR - So far (ep 18), so good. Quite high up in my list of favourite dramas in 2020!
