Just because not everyone thinks the same way as you doesnt make them less credible or as you call them "beginners",…
out of curiosity, would you say the same to people who give it say a rating of 4 or 5? from my understanding, others would give it 9.5 or 10s to balance out those glaringly low ratings (usually by haters of either actors). Take Our Generation for example, there was a wave of low ratings that made the MDL ratings plummet which caused many to not even dare start of the drama.
My point is, MDL ratings arent the bible on whether a show is good or not. It's mainly a forum where fans criticise or gush about the plot and how the show made them feel.
The main villain wasn’t even in the show😂😂😂😂😂But then again, who is really the main villain?…
to me definitely the old emperor was inherently evil, the tattler was merely the tipping point. Happy to see the tattler's downfall being exiled and realising he supported the wrong faction all along though!
I wonder. Is this drama rated by beginners or by romantics who love beauty and repetition? The first 25 episodes…
you're entitled to your opinion and others to theirs.
Personally even if part of a drama is liked less than other parts, if the overall story and production made me feel emotions and get me to rewatch certain episodes, i say though flawed, it's still a good drama.
to the new wave of ppl coming here to check out ZLH's works from Pursuit of Jade, welcome!!In case you're wondering…
Feel free to check out the novel as well if you wish for more materials :) the drama only follows about 60% of the novel, FYI. But both stories are largely similar in the message they convey
to the new wave of ppl coming here to check out ZLH's works from Pursuit of Jade, welcome!!
In case you're wondering about the low rating, please be assured that neither ZJM nor ZLH's acting deserved anything less than a 9.5. There were waves of mass downvoting while the show was airing and many unnecessary discourses about both leads' characters.
As someone who read the novel, watched the drama, is a fan of ZLH since his debut and a muggle who greatly appreciates ZJM's acting, please give this drama a shot and try to immerse yourself in both Ying Tao and Qiao Xi's perspective in the show.
It portrays a, though idealistic, beautiful form of a love where 2 young people tried their hardest to give love as best as they knew how within their circumstances.
agree with you 🙏🏻 I thought I'd be very disappointed even tho the actors are popular and I'm not baised…
yeah the adaptation is not bad at all!! but novel readers can all agree that it's the 40 ep limit that probably resulted is so many cut from the novel. Though I'm glad the key scenes like changyu piggybacking xie zheng after she drugged him, the grand welcome of the marquis and flower-adorned general, both CY and XZ fighting along side by side, were all done so tastefully in the drama :)
they really succeeded in bringing the characters and settings (especially Lin An town) to life!!
she is a transmigrator!! many hints were dropped throughout the drama (for example: her knowledge of mouth-to-mouth…
ok fair point since i guess other cdramas also showed mouth to mouth when they're desperate to save someone.
maybe a better example would be how she's using modern capitalistic business knowledge to become an entrepreneur (an odd position for a female, especially one with no significant family background) in that era.
also another example is how bao'er kept going on about not eating too much sweets because it gives cavities, medical knowledge not really known back then
as a novel reader, i can say i'm satisfied. the novel fleshed out the battle scenes and intimate scenes (not explicitly…
also can i just confess that i bawled in the last ep when they returned to Lin An and they showed all the villagers 😭😭 brb gonna rewatch the first arc until you-know-when
the novel fleshed out the battle scenes and intimate scenes (not explicitly but there were MANY lol) much better since it's the source material after all, but the drama also did some things better (the portrayal of xie zheng is more humanised in the drama compared to the novel, and the political scenes were easier to understand with the visuals) in my opinion.
the drama tried its best to show as many key scenes as possible, and the directing and visuals are soo consistently high quality. lowkey i was wondering if they would omit qian qian's transmigrator back story but in fact they showed much more details to allude to her background since early on in the drama!
some novel readers might be disappointed that the 2nd half of the show were too rushed since they had to squeeze the political arc within 10-ish ep but if i tried to watch from the perspective of someone who didn't read the novel, i think they did their best to cover as many characters and plot as they could, trying to tie up loose ends up till the last ep. that is the beauty of novel-drama adaptations i suppose.
if you're not satisfied with the drama, you're welcome to read/re-read the novel until you breathe and live Zhu Yu ☺️
well done PoJ team. Till the next project, ZLH and TXW!!
You know it took me a long hot minute to realize you meant the guard lol. I can’t even get her four thug buddies…
haha if you're familiar with mandarin it's pretty easy because his guards are literally called by XZ's surname followed by numbers, so Xie Wu is number 5
It just happens there's a war going on and he doesn't have time to deal with her shenanigans. So he packs her…
i get everyone's frustration with her actions bc we have the luxury of hindsight and knowing his identity, she was indeed reckless not knowing her actions could've killed everyone. She's lucky she's strong and the calvary has the strength to hold out without XZ.
but i guess there's the argument that recklessness and courage have a fine line between them :') we can only hope she matures from this incident and exercise more wise restraint as she works toward becoming a respected general
oh! and regarding the drugged soup she gave him, iirc in the novel she gave him a heavy dosage but told changning to poke him with a needle if she needed help. She poked up in the end and that's how he awoke! so it's a sliiight variation from the drama where he woke up by himself - either he was given a weaker dosage or his body was strong enough to overcome it
It just happens there's a war going on and he doesn't have time to deal with her shenanigans. So he packs her…
yep he literally had to lead the troops now bc she drugged the marquis, best he could do was just place her with the reserve forces. but alas even the reserved had to be deployed bc the situation was so dire...
It made to top 10?? Lol!that's crazy. Cdramas fans know how we watch cdramas...and its NOT ON AMERICAN PLATFORMS…
ppl usually watch cdramas on other platforms bc netflix's schedule is always behind by at least a week. but for POJ they synced the airing schedule across netflix, iqiyi and tencent! that's why even i stayed on netflix since i use the app more often than the rest :)
i'm sure this is the case for other international viewers too which explain the high rankings!
WE'RE SO SO SO HAPPY!! the screenwriting and director are realllyyyyy bringing the words to life 😭 the attention to detail and how they're staying quite true to the essence of the novel is very clear! Hope the next half of the drama continues this momentum hehe
Maybe it’s because Chang Yu mentioned that she has prepared clothes and money for Yan Zheng when he leaves.…
good points! just wanted to add on that in the novel, XZ brought up multiple times in his monologue about how FCY prefers refined and scholarly men over someone like himself. So i do sense sliiiight insecurity on top of the pettiness when he brought up Song Yan in this scene
Please between ml and fl who's more good at martial art? Like who's stronger?
biologically, ML bc male (duh) and he literally grew up being trained and he's a general already. FL is also very strong innately though! But in the battlefield arc, ML will train FL such that she eventually blooms to also be an undefeated general by the end!

Art is after all subjective.
