i dont think something happened between them in the past. It just that she scared of him because what she saw happened in the future (in first ep, the fl seems going back in time —to her 18 years old). hence, she try to avoid having the same future, and in the future.. her fate was tied down to the ml. that’s what i understand from the first ep.
xie wei (zhang ling he) scared the shit outta me. oh oh ep 1 dropped and it begins with a tale full of angsty! Bai Lu visuals in costume just so dead gorgeous as usual. so far, i’m liking this. It kinda remind me of an ancient love song (with the author trying to change his storyline).

Bitch, what he really want? one moment, he told gilchae to show that she’s living the way Jang Hyun expected her to be, then.. he again said Gil Chae didn’t deserved the guy or the attention Jang Hyun gave her. im so closed to enter the screen and slap some senses onto that bish. He pissing me off.
and love for the fact that Jang Hyun is the only person who see how much Gil Chae had been through, embrace her as a whole, the flaws Gil Chae, whoever she is. Jang Hyun set the bar so high, the walking green forest that only set his eyes on Gil Chae only. Their love story might sad, full of longing, but what they had is mutual. they yearn for each other and go through hurdles for the sake of each other’s. how can i not love them.

But okay, that’s forgiven. preview of episode 17 seems give us hope but again.. we never know what the remaining 3 episodes gonna be. i’m bracing myself for whatever possibility.

this is how the drama intents to do. it’s the reality of the war, the struggles people had to lived during war and after the war, reality isn’t always pretty.. and this a love story between a male and a female that loved each other but they missed the timing and it’s in complicated situation.
honestly, if you cant watch this type of drama, then please do yourself a favor by not watching it. of course this drama is in a depressing tone, it was made for that. they give us enough butterfly during the first part of the story, and the direction it headed now wont be pretty but that’s what make jang hyun and gil chae love story pretty endearing, heartache yet painstakingly beautiful.
not many can take a painful love story, especially when everything happened during a war, where people got abused and dying each second. so, the choice is yours whether to stay or not. whether to continue watching it or not, whether it’s gonna worth your time or not. dont make yourself suffer by one drama when you can watch countless of others drama that fit your preferences.
