C'mon, you really think that one scene in the rain was enough for the King to be fascinated by the original Kim So Yong compared to the many traits the King fell for when Bonghwan took over So Yong's body? Really? You're gonna tell me that ONE scene in the rain triumphs everything CJ and BH/SB went through?

He was not just "wary" of her, CJ even tried to kill So Yong. So Yong could not make CJ believe she was not the enemy, but Bonghwan did it without even trying. Why? Because BH was the one who made CJ curious enough about the Queen and try to understand her.

I did want JBH to go back to the present, but only if they didn't make him fall for CJ. That would've been easier to stomach. And while I'm happy JBH went back to the present and So Yong now has CJ's love, there's a reason why the writers include the line where CJ felt like he lost something. And why he mentions So Yong doesn't speak informally to him like before. It just shows that SY and BH really were not the same person, that even though SY has some of BH's influence, CJ still felt like something was MISSING. I just feel upset that he never realized at one point, SY was really someone else. It's sad that only Kim Byeong In realized it only to be killed off in the end.

Anyways, great for you, nothing is going to change my mind about this ending unless we get a Season 2 where CJ eventually realizes So Yong is not really the same and/or CJ gets shipped to the future/reincarnates and meets Bonghwan again. I want to see if CJ will still find Bonghwan fascinating as a man, in his true form. If he doesn't fall for him that's okay too. Before CJ fell for SoBong I always thought they would be good buddies at least.

I'm not saying it's BL. but since the Queen and the man have different personalities entirely, they definitely are two different people.

It feels like the male lead suddenly ended up with the 2nd female lead even though the relationship that was developed was the male lead with the first female lead. Usually nobody is satisfied with an ending like that, right? Unless the male lead had better chemistry with the 2nd female lead but the entertaining, soulful and the one with the most development and screentime was the chemistry between the male lead and the first female+male lead. I don't like BL, I just want the male lead x first female lead with a fiery personality (from the man's soul) than the 2nd female lead with a depressing personality.

I don't watch BL either but in this VERY special case, I became invested in the Queen with the man's soul relationship with the King, but in the end the original Queen comes back from hiding all of a sudden and the man is sent back to the present. The Queen (man) and the original Queen are so different from the other, it's hard to feel not cheated on. The King even says it himself, he feels like he "lost" something. Even though the Queen is in front of him and everything should be in it's place, something feels different.

And viewers know it's because the major part of the Queen that The King loved is gone. I'm not rooting hard for BL but I WAS rooting for the relationship that was developed nicely throughout the series which was MR Queen x King, not Mrs Queen x King. Does it make sense?

But of course, it's still an entertaining drama, and since I know your preference, you'll love it. I know my preference too, I mostly ship straight characters like 99% of the time, but the line is blurry in this one and I find myself sadly unsatisfied rip

While I understand somewhat that BH's emotions were influenced by SY's emotions (because BH started showing attraction to the King after So Yong's soul merged with him), the King did not just "fell in love with a woman."

He fell in love with the Queen with Jang Bong Hwan's soul in it. He was fascinated by her slang, her arrogance, her rudeness, every single flaw that a woman during that time shouldn't have, yet he still loved her. He confessed this himself, all the things about the Queen (with Bonghwan's soul) that he loved which would be considered flaws by others. None of the traits that Bonghwan had belonged to So Yong, the woman. Had Bonghwan not been in So Yong, Cheol Jong would not have paid attention to her much. Maybe he'd eventually have a soft spot for her, but So Yong lacked the courage Bonghwan had to prove herself that she was on his side. Bonghwan didn't have to prove anything to convince that he was not the enemy. The King was curious enough about Queen Bonghwan to try and understand her/him, but he was not curious enough about So Yong to understand her, thus he would not have fallen for her.

so isn't that extremely unfair? So Yong only hid behind Bonghwan's decisions and takes the credit for it when Bonghwan is sent back to wherever he came from even though So Yong was the one who was tired of life in the palace?

MR. QUEEN was the main character, hence the Queen with Bonghwan's soul in it. Bonghwan was the first character we were introduced to, HE is the main character.

He will but they won't end up together because the writers kinda imply that the Queen (man) only fell for the King because the remnants of the original Queen that loves the King is still in the body. Annoying, I know.

I would've given this a 10/10 if it weren't for how upset I became at the ending. I still enjoyed it nonetheless but still, certain things could have been better.

Anyways. I'm gonna need a Shin Hye Sun x Kim Jung Hyun modern drama or a Shin Hye Sun x Choi Jin Hyuk modern drama. I felt like So Yong and Bonghwan could have been a nice ship if they weren't merged into a body together. Bonghwan was the first person to sympathize with the Queen, much more than the King did.

@ChiEnuma I would've been happier if both the King and Queen So Bong died and reincarnated into the present! Or even if they wanted to keep the King & So Yong endgame, they could've reincarnated the King into the present for Bonghwan to meet and fall in love with again!

I mean what was the point of having Bonghwan accept his bisexuality if in the end he was gonna be tossed away like a side character?

I was relieved that So Yong was influenced by Bonghwan, I was gonna accept that endgame but when the King asked himself if he "lost something" and when he asked the Queen "Why do you speak formally with me these days?" That's when I realized , it's not enough for the Queen to be a little like Bonghwan, they're not the same after all, she isn't the woman the King was fascinated by, she isn't the woman the King fell in love with.

I'm upset that towards the end, the only person who really believed that the soul inside So Yong was another person is Kim Byeong In. I really wanted to see the King's genuine reaction realizing the Queen was someone else for a while, now she's back again.

If they were gonna make Bong Hwan return to the present, then it would have been better NOT to make Cheol Jong fall for Bonghwan! I was pretty content with seeing a possible Cheol Jong x Bonghwan bromance only, and maybe after Bonghwan returns, only by the end the King starts to have feeling for the original So Yong. But then the writers made Cheol Jong fall for Bonghwan even BEFORE So Yong's memories returned! And worse, they made Bonghwan fall for Cheol Jong too! If the writers didn't want them together, don't make them fall for each other! If Bonghwan's role as the main character was to solely help the King and original Queen together, WHY MAKE HIM FALL FOR THE KING TOO SMH

loved the slight twist! i watched this drama on impulse, chose it because i'm watching mr queen now with hye sun and i finished 18 again with lee dohyun, so i wanted to see them both, but it's definitely gone beyond expectations. i love dramas where i can care for all the characters, which means that none of the scenes are skippable.

noo they don't (i wish they did lmao) but they had some funny and cute interactions that make me suddenly want them in a separate romcom drama :P

This drama is the first in the Thursday 11:10pm timeslot for MBC, so I'm not expecting high ratings or anything. I wonder how many episodes it will have though?? Since it's only one episode per week unlike most kdramas with 2 episodes per week.

So have you seen his cameo appearance yet?? Its probably the makeup but he looks like he only aged one or two years after the first season!

It was brilliant!! Ep 1 was a bit meh so it took me a while to pick it back up but from episode 2 it got really addicting! This needs a season 2 with the other UDI members finding out about Mikoto's past.

And Nakado x Mikoto has great chemistry ❤

I doubt it but I wish there was LOL I mean just from the trailer Sawajiri Erika and Tori Matsuzaka just OOZE chemistry!
