Bossam Ep 16 is sooo satisfying! Not gonna lie, Bossam felt like a different drama after episode 12, like the writers suddenly changed (I know there's two of them, so that could be a possibility) but finally in episode 16 it feels like we're getting right back on track!
I think it may be because the first 10 episodes were focused on developing Bau x Sookyung's relationship, and when they became established, the writer wanted to focus on their character growth separately, so that these two characters can exist outside of their romance. I miss these characters in the commoner settings most and I still felt like Bau's status reinstated too quickly, how both Bau x Sookyung adapted to being a married couple quickly (where are the awkward moments where they adapt to skinship!! i wanted to see that yet they got comfortable real quickly and their dynamic changed kinda drastically to being very sweet) but oh well. How can a ship be slow burn yet still seem rushed, idk. Because it's been 16 eps and they've never done anything besides a hug and hand holding. I hope when their first kiss happens, I get to see a bit of the awkwardness lol
There were side characters I felt like didn't need so much focus. We got more of those side characters than some of the 9 people in the main poster. But after watching episode 16, the extent of those annoying side characters getting a lot of screentime feels more impactful and satisfying.
Hopefully with the last four eps, Bossam will turn it's focus back on the main characters vs the villain and the extras STAY extras.
I know the plot is fast-paced which is good but man, since I love most of the characters, I lowkey wouldn't mind this drama being a classic 50-episode sageuk. I would love seeing more eps of the main characters just going about their daily commoner life like in episode 4. In 100 Days My Prince, we got to see at least 8 episodes of the main characters during their commoner life before the ML found out his real identity then chaos from there. too bad it couldn't happen with bossam but i suppose bossam's main plot isn't the amnesia. at this point, it's quite unpredictable what kind of stories are left for the last 8 episodes when bau and sookyung have already restored their original identities and aren't living in hiding anymore from ep 12.
Congratulations to Bossam's 11th episode for reaching a new personal best record to 8% ratings nationwide! Let's go for 10% to get Chadol to dance with the main cast!
Say there’s a guy who kidnapped you and instead of amending his mistakes, he contemplated killing you and then…
Bawu and Hwa In have not fallen in love in the span of a few weeks, they have only started to care for each other after princess started living with Bau but it's not yet love lmao. They didn't confess, only hugged in ep 8 which was one-sided. held hands for the first time in episode 10 when other romance dramas would have skinship from episode 4. How is it 'instantly falling in love" to you? Strange how you hate them together yet you see them more in love than people who actually are complaining their romance is moving too slow lmao
How do you know Hwa In fell out of love the instant she couldnt run away with BIL? The story starts 3 years after her wedding/the day she was widowed. During those 3 years was the time she grew out of the love she had for her BIL. Who knows how long it took for her to silently despair that BIL rejected her then despair again after her new husband died leaving her to her horrible in-laws.
LOLz the flaws some people see brother in law is also some of the qualities we see in BaWu in every episode It…
turn off her feelings? who was it that made Hwa In that way? BIL didnt want to run away with her when she was willing to sacrifice her comfortable life in the palace to run away with him. Plus, she was widowed for 3 whole years and BIL treated her like a proper sister-in-law that whole time. He says herself he only realized he still had feelings for her after he thought she died. No wonder her romantic feelings for him died.
Bawu tells her not to leave because he knows he can protect her and knows that she was sad at him telling her they shouldn't ever meet. He knows she was happy to see him. Yes the characters all have flaws but you keep missing these important details as to why they do what they do. Where does Bawu treat her like a trophy wife? Can you stop with these accusations when you don't even provide examples for it?
"when the character you don’t like also woos a girl, you call it selfish and possessive. LOLz"
It's not a character we don't like, it's a person Hwa In no longer likes romantically so yes, we see from her point of view and wanting someone to be with you one-sidedly IS selfish and possessive when she has clearly rejected you. When BIL rejected Hwa In's proposal to run away, did she selfishly force him to follow her? No. She accepted he couldn't run away which was why she went through the marriage with the 2nd brother. So BIL should accept this time around that she does not want to run away with him and is happy with her new family.
Lol. How do people still like Dae Yeop? It's clear that he's a selfish, overly idealistic, and naive character.…
we're holding onto the hope that he'll get his development soon, i think this is why people are sympathetic to him. yuri mentions the three of them start off badly during the press conference but gradually becomes friends so hopefully daeyeop will realize his selfishness and move on to becoming his own character rather than just hoping for his father's approval or getting with the princess.
I actually like Lee Dae (brother in law) as a character the most, since he's the most consistent. Perhaps, like…
I just wanna say thanks for defending the princess. how a minority of people still have a problem with her is beyond me. her actions are every bit reasonable and understandable. really am happy with the way she's written so far.
Are these guys just brain-dead (especially the princess and the court lady) or what? They are obviously going…
I agree it's not a wise decision to draw but man! it was so satisfying to see the princess do something that she's actually very talented in! It wasn't a smart decision but for character growth I thought it was beautiful. I hope the drama addresses the problem of not allowing women to write and draw back then, this could be a sacrifice needed to potentially allow writing and reading for women. This drama did mention it was supposed to address oppression on women and the impoverished so the princess drawing was needed. Things that is illegal for only women when they only want to make a living should not be normalized.
Ba Wu & Hwa In, I don’t see chemistry but their acting is fire. The acting of Hwa In is especially impressive.…
I will agree with you that their acting is fire tho!
And maybe if they didn't keep separating the kid from his mother, he wouldn't cry? He's been the more mature one compared to his father, so he should be allowed to cry after being separated from the princess, or the possibility the princess might be in danger, or that his parents are arguing. Before the princess showed up he probably rarely cried. What's a "kid from this time period" supposed to be like? always stoic and tough because life is harsh so kids arent allowed to be kids? you think all kids were like that back then?

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the chemistry. I think you simply don't see chemistry between their characters because you don't like their characters themselves.
How is Princess a shallow, mentally weak character? Do explain. Are you not up-to-date with the recent episodes?
Yes, when she wanted to commit suicide for the sake of others, she was mentally weak. But now? When she wants to live for herself? When she wants to help provide the family even though Bawu tells her she doesn't have to resort to washing dishes? When she pushed through helping the sick people even if it meant recklessly scamming rich nobles?
And what do you mean by "having a difficult time not allowing their emotions to control them"? Example? Are you saying they both allow their emotions to control them? What's wrong with that? So their actions stem from their emotions. But not all. Princess figured out she's a political pawn and concluded she had to fake her death so there wouldn't be bloodshed. Bawu figured out that trusting Daeyeop only might not be a good idea, so he acted himself. Daeyeop on the other hand, the majority of his decisions are because he's desperate wanting the princess back yet also still wanting to keep in his father's favor. Not really thinking with his head.
Usually I don't understand palace politics but in Bossam it's fairly easy to follow.
But still, the heart of Bossam is undoubtedly the pseudo-family consisting of Bawu x Sookyung x Chadol x Chunbae x Lady Jo. They're very healing, and they show us a different side of historical dramas, a bit of slice-of-life focused on commoner people.

Brother-in-law knows his father wants Sookyung dead yet he still believes his father should be pardoned. So far, every mistake he does, there doesn't seem to be any silver linings, where as Bawu quickly makes up for his wrong, impulsive decisions. How is Brother-in-law more rational than Bawu? Both of them are impulsive, reckless but at least Bawu's efforts have good results. Daeyeop made a deal with the king not realizing the king could possibly betray him.
I'm still waiting for Daeyeop's development because Yuri/Jung Ilwoo said the main three characters start off on the wrong foot but eventually they become friends. Basically he has room to grow but it's taking a while because it's his family we're talking about. He gave up running away with the princess out of filial duty.
Bossam broke their own record and reached 7.7% for episode 8! I think it's obvious viewers are craving for the romance. The ratings dropped to 5.8% for episode 7 and increased a lot on episode 8 where Bau saves Sookyung and they hug for the first time.
I think it may be because the first 10 episodes were focused on developing Bau x Sookyung's relationship, and when they became established, the writer wanted to focus on their character growth separately, so that these two characters can exist outside of their romance.
