Watched this years ago, back to rewatching cuz I feel like I didn't do this movie justice the first time. I was very young and I cringed at everything (still cringe easily at everything tbh ngl but I know to hold it in now). Now I am back with a new perspective. Imo, it's better to have already read the manga before watching this, because all this movie really does is summarize the manga and it's like a nice little bonus. Watching it alone can be rather tedious and confusing because not only were things moving quickly, but some meaning to particular moments may have been lost. Overall, still a pretty decent watch though. Makes me feel like a freaking high schooler again all giddy and stuff just from them looking at each other.

Forced angst I can see how it can be a turn off. Like who needs useless drama to forward a dragged plot. But with CM it actually makes sense. There's been build up, now we've reached the point of all those build up, the dots connect. Not sure where along the trail did some people lose their way.....
Wow, while I was over at Over Drive crying over Mackenyu and Higashide, and Machida's minor role, what happened here lolol On one hand it's understandable. These conflicts close to the ending don't usually mean well for a good ending seeing as things can seem rushed just to give a good resolution, but ya know what, I have high hopes, because CM has delivered again and again every episode. I'm not gonna stop now. Plus with the special episodes, I'm sure it will all conclude well.
The girl agent aspect of the movie. Hmmm. It looked like they were hinting something? Idk, but maybe that's just my own demon. The wiping oil off the cheek, the way she looks at them, I usually interpret them as hints, but of course it can just as likely be interpreted as her being inspired by them. She did have her own little revolution.
I thought Masuda will get a character arc cuz he had so many scenes. But it kind of just fell flat. Not that I mind though, he wasn't that important of a character to begin with, just some dude with a dream. Though it looks like he finally came to term with being a mechanic, rather than design.
Naozumi and Atsuhiro's growth *chef's kiss*. The emotions, I felt it.

Really like that Akira was a good sport. When they pulled the car out and fixed it, the dude was happy for them, despite knowing he's most likely gonna lose the race. For sure thought they were gonna write him off as those a-holes that act nice on the surface only. Thank goodness he wasn't.

Y'all notice how the preview for ep 11 last week had shots that weren't included in this ep 11? The bike riding and Tsuge pinning Minato against the book shelf. And then this ep 11 didn't even have preview for ep 12. I think ep 11 preview last week has both for ep 11 and ep 12. Edit: ACTUALLY my memory is shit lol ignore everything I just said lmaooooo I swear I can't rely on my memory AT ALL.
