Cunning Yo Han with an ambiguous obsession and cynical Ga On with a chance of Stockholm syndrome. I guess this drama would be my second dose of weekly toxicity after Nevertheless.

I actually don't mind the age gap, but looking at the synopsis I think that making the main leads as love interests is unnecessary. I guess they would be just some kind of partner in crime. I mean with that kind of plot and genre, pushing romance agenda would be out of place. Besides, the FL already had a fiance. Personally, it's really annoying whenever a drama brings up a fiance only to be separated later.

also when the girls saw Daon and Taekyung hanging out on the weekend they were wondering what 2 guys could be…
I've encountered the same reactions in other drama/webtoon though. I guess it's just the way people there think of whenever they see two people together on the weekends.

Ugh....god. This show is starting to tug on my heartstrings in a serious way. Da On took me on an emotional roller…
I also didn't expect anything from this drama. I just wanted to enjoy a light-hearted one with all its cliches, but turned out it offered something more. It really got me even more excited to watch this.

Can we appreciate the team because the last two episodes are around 20-ish minutes? I thought they will reduce the duration after episode 5 :")

I have to clarify something most of you are webtoon(of) fans or BL fans I understand but please consider what…
Well, they should've not been adapting the webtoon in the first place. The problem is actually beyond just censoring/erasing the LGBTQ element. The webtoon brings a lot of sensitive topics, if they're still not confident or even afraid then they could've been adapting other webtoon which is more relevant to what they want to aim, in this case slice of life youth drama which romance aspect is heavily involved. They could also be creative by upgrading a mediocre webtoon into a more complex adaptation.

Anyway, the complains are not only coming from the webtoon readers or people who think this is a BL. Even many of general viewers are also complaining. There's an article on Naver addressing the viewer's outrage over the loss of probability and unpleasant development regarding the plot. They even felt more disappointed considering the actors had pull off a good performance.

FYI, the latest drama from TVN, Mine, was including a lesbian as one of the main leads. How was the reaction? It was actually well-received by public for the proper inclusivity.

If I'm not mistaken, The Tale of Nokdu also aired in KBS. It literally included kissing scene between two guys (even though it was some kind of joke). Idk what's the deal with Victory Contents that they don't want the main leads to be guys only? It's not like Joon and Soohyun gonna kiss anyway. Besides, keeping the two guys as the only leads actually can keep them away from putting such a heavy focus on the romance just like the webtoon.

Y'all can judge me, but if I were Tae Kyung I'll get some with Goong Shi Woon at least once. I mean he's cute and you're supposed to 'have fun' with the group clown right?

I can't with the tension between Ji Sung and Jin Young. It reminds of that Wattpad's CEO with 'daddy' energy who is ready to bring out the wild side of his new innocent secretary 😂

I’m sorry, but you just cannot expect me to buy the idea that Jun and So Bin are OTP material with their boring,…
I mean they literally used the checklists for a lot of kdramas' main couple to build up the relationship between Joon and Soohyun, such as :
- The opposite personality ✔
- Unlikely attraction ✔
- Bickering a lot in the beginning ✔
- Thinking about each others whenever on their own ✔
- Somehow managed to acknowledge each's true color ✔
They don't have to be a couple, but at least their bond is deeper and more convincing than the actual couple 😂

Title Nevertheless, Spoiler
Tbh, if they want to be progressive, the ending for Nabi would be her staying single for a while, going to therapy, and overcoming her issues first before she starts a new relationship. The root of her issues was coming from her family. Jumping from one guy to another will never be a solution, it will only put her in a vicious cycle.

However, the webtoon's ending was actually pretty good too. It was kinda bitter but realistic. Even though Nabi ended up with Dohyuk, it was implied that she hadn't dealt with her issues. She felt anxious when she saw him being friendly to other girl. No matter how nice Dohyuk is to Nabi or how cute they are together, these won't solve Nabi's issues.

Speaking of Mijoo, the webtoon version is actually interesting. She was envied by a lot of girls for her beauty…
Of course not. There won't be massive disappointments if he's bisexual. Besides, both girls' crush on Soohyun wasn't something significant in the webtoon. Soohyun's storylines mostly revolved around his own struggles, Jun, and Junhwan.

Mijoo engaged in a toxic and abusive relationship with her current boyfriend, but Youngran is always by her side. Although Youngran is very protective towards her, I think she doesn't want to give pressure to Mijoo by forcing her out of her current situation. I don't know if it's just me but I feel like there's an ambiguous tension between them. Well, maybe this is some kind of hint about them being a potential couple (I could be overanalyzing though lol).

Nope, they didn't. She ended up having two one-sided crush. Although it seems harsh, but it's the reality for most 'ordinary girls'. Anyway, both Sobin and Chanki had their last appearances on the early chapters of season 3. I don't know if they'll be back in the future, but I guess they won't since they are no longer significant to the main plot.

The other major problem about the drama (at least for me personally) is the way they were downgrading the side characters. They actually had depth and interesting story, but sadly they mostly took the insignificant part for the drama. The webtoon focused on empashizing each character's struggles, while the drama focused on empashizing the romance.

I think the reception in SK was just so-so. There's buzz here and there but not that huge. The ratings for a public network were fairly low around 1-2%. Tbh, season 2 is not needed actually. They already stray too far from the webtoon. I mean the moment they made Sobin a main character, the original plot was ruined. Here's a thing, Jun's "obsession" in the drama felt like he just wanted to be close to Soohyun, while in the webtoon, Jun's obsession grew after he started to bond with Soohyun, he's so obsessed with Soohyun that he wanted Soohyun's attention all for himself. From those situations alone, I think you can already tell me that the webtoon and the drama have different visions.

its honestly annoying how badly 2 FLs (So Bin and Mi Joo) are written. former one always freezes up and gets saved…
Speaking of Mijoo, the webtoon version is actually interesting. She was envied by a lot of girls for her beauty privilege. Her issues are mostly about insecurity and trust. Most guys were only seeing her as sexual object. Her personality often lead her into a toxic relationship. She has a lot of things to emphasize but what they took from the webtoon is only her crush on Soohyun.

I just wanna point out to readers of the webtoon (although how you read it is beyond me since it hasn’t actually…
The difference between the webtoon and the drama is that the webtoon was trying so hard to be bold and offer something different while the drama is trying so hard to tick all the romance cliches.

Speaking of Sobin, I can't believe they really went Candy Girl trope with her in the drama. The webtoon Sobin was a side character for a reason. The writer didn't sugarcoat her storyline about her fighting with mediocrity. Her story was quite depressing. Jun even said that she wasn't his type and the reason why he helped her was because he thought that by helping her equals to helping himself. But it wasn't that simple though.

What happened to Jun was the result from years of abuse that it turned him into a sociopath. His obsession towards Soohyun was the closest thing that could be deemed as he cared about other people. The webtoon wasn't a heartwarming one where found family could be a solution. It was really dark that I won't be surprised if the ending for Jun would be either he'll spend some times in mental ward or he'll commit suicide.

My main problem with the drama is that the confusion and the inconsistency of adapting the webtoon are obvious. Instead of each aspect was well-connected, what I felt was like watching 2 different dramas.
