Slice of Life has always been one of my favourite genres since my anime days, but tbh I really don't watch it enough as I often need to be in the "mood" for them. Thanks for highlighting some I should take a look into! (Coincidently, I just started Ojisan wa Kawaii Mono ga Osuki 3 days ago and loving it! It's cute!)
Bokura wa Kiseki de Dekite Iru has to be my most recent favourite one I've watched. :)
For a while I dropped everything/put everything on hold as if it was a hot potato...then I somehow developed NDD to the point I'm now retrying my dropped dramas because I don't like seeing them dropped. I refuse to skip or x2 as well. I think I like the pain at this point lmao.
Nice article! Tbh my life before dramas was pretty Asian filled anyway as I've been a kpop fan since I was a tween and liked anime/manga. I do read less books and don't really watch anime/read manga anymore and I totally blame dramas for it.
My jdrama/kdrama journey started around the same time (about 8 years ago) but I already had Japan interests with anime/manga and the movie Kaiji many years prior. My first actual jdrama was Sprout which I started because I was eating sprouts at the time lmao.
I'd definitely recommend to newbies try genres different their norm. Personally jdrama romance isn't my thing, but when I branched out I found they're great for trying various genres (I think that's what many jdrama fans, myself included, love about them). One minute it can be about a yakuza that can turn into a jellyfish monster and next it can be about a dude who waters his plants. Both can be brilliant but you've got explore and keep an open mind before you can find them.
The news live bit had me cackling lmao. This article is very similar to the relationship between my mother and I, though we're both drama and kpop addicts so it's not as one sided. Great article! :)
