Actually, sadly, it's impossible to find perfect male leads like Ryan Gold in Korean dramas. But there are few…
I'm all for this kind of main leads!! Hopefully more of them in the future.
I love Park Seo Joon's character in Witch's Romance, less for the drama. His character was swoony, gentle, and sometimes can be sexy. I love the first half of the drama, but the second half was kind of butchered. At least it got a happy ending.
Lee Joon Gi in Arang and The Magistrate, he got a cool exterior but slowly falls with the lead girl and protective of her, but not obsessive.. I guess. I watched it a few years ago so my memories were hazy. He and Seo Joon might not be on Ryan Gold's level, but their chemistry with lead girls in the two dramas I mentioned was pretty good.
I haven't watch it yet but I heard good talks about Park Shi Hoo's character in The Princess Man. I watched him in Queen of Reversals and his role is a bad boy but understanding and sympathetic character to the lead girl.
Would anyone like to share their thoughts on Seon Joo and her husband?? I initially thought it was meant to be…
I don't really understand her breakdown because I have no idea how the documentary really looks like. I think her being mad like that and trying to divorce just because of a documentary feels weird, but I guess this kind of happens with people sometimes. I think she should have considered the truth behind those docus. Just because you're an avid part of something doesn't mean it's 100% healthy. There's nothing wrong with his husband exploring that. But he could have talked about it with her first, even though she would probably just reject it 100% as well.
OFFENSIVE COMMENT ALERTWow I saw a lot of people who complimented Lee Minki's acting and I cant believe it because…
I also dropped this a long time ago because of his acting. And the dull dialogues between main leads followed by the lack of chemistry.
But did you watch his acting on Shut Up Flower Boy Band? I first saw him in there and he's got this bad boy vibe. Maybe he's best suited to such roles, not this kind.
Or maybe.. just maybe.. a character like Seo Do Jae is simply boring and not one actor can handle him. I also had similar experience with Kwon Jung Rok played by Lee Dong Wook on Touch Your Heart. He's boring but I could still finish the drama because of the supporting casts.
Can you recommend anything on the same level as Signal? I’ve watched Tunnel and while it had it’s moments,…
Sorry for replying only now.. I'm watching Life on Mars, it looks like it has the potential. It has high ratings and rave reviews, so maybe you could start with that. My Ahjussi is also in my watch list right now.
I want to watch this, but am afraid of getting a bad SLS (well, because y'know, Im Jo Hwan). How is it so far?…
I think you would mostly ship her with IJH. At first, I also thought that way. But then, I decided that I will not be focusing on the romance for now, because everyone starts becoming shadier as the story progressed. The main leads also have their own moments later, but I'm still not sure if Lee Young Jin is picking sides. She's a mysterious character.
Love triangles are so annoying, gosh. It's there all the damn time in the majority of the dramas. Also I didn't…
i suspect the lack of emotional built-up is due to the two fake kisses on earlier eps, kind of killed the climax to me. so when the real one happened in ep 9, it kind of fall flat compared to the previous ones.
i feel like he will have a romance line with the girl interested in ryan!
exactly. it's disturbing because from what was implied on ep 9/10, it seems like they were raised together from babies. It just doesn't make sense to me, unless they were raised together beyond the age of babyhood.
I CANNOT STAND EUNGI NO MORE HES SO,,, IM GOING TO EAT HIS TEETH HES LITERALLY HURTING DEOKMI SAYING ALL THIS…
i also thought da in would be a bit different when she called eun gi on his cockblocking thing but i just nest my hope as low as my grade as soon as she did just the same when realizing the fake relationship thing going on with our couple.
I mean, can't she sense the infatuation and growing love between our future couple? i wish she could be an extension of us ship builders inside the drama xD especially if she did it in her american way. that would have been badass goodness
I CANNOT STAND EUNGI NO MORE HES SO,,, IM GOING TO EAT HIS TEETH HES LITERALLY HURTING DEOKMI SAYING ALL THIS…
i feel like squishing him and his screen time especially that shower scene. the first thing i said was 'get the fk out of my screen man you're not needed' lol
I never really fancy Eun Gi and the latest ep only further strengthen that!! I feel like they will keep on using him as interference for our main leads, which I hope wouldn't be the case *sigh*
It was all hype for me, after waiting for so long to see it. It was good but that's it, just good, not amazing.…
I thought I was the only who felt this. The political conflict somehow stole away the tension and the danger of the zombies attack. sageuk isn't my thing (unless it's romance/fantasy, which i can attest somehow) so it definitely doesn't help when the scenes focus on the palace intrigue like the regular sageuk.
can someone enlighten me on why i keep on laughing when i saw the people running away from the zombie or being devoured by it? i don't know if its the directing or acting.. In USA/UK zombie movie/shows i got scared and thrilled whenever the zombie appeared but i always feel like laughing when i saw the korean ones. that aside, this one is pretty good to watch... it's just that i don't really care whether they survive or not. maybe because it's a story driven show. Historical drama always bored me and this element in Kingdom kind of turn me off. I love the team-up between the prince, guard, the assistant physician, and two other guys. I hope the main ensemble stays that way for next season. Also, that cliffhanger;;;;
First, most of the characters cried too much. I know they went through traumatic experience, but I wish they tried to convey it aside from crying. The phase was a tornado mess. Some parts were slow when it's supposed to be fast and vice versa. Oh, I would never forget the amount of flashbacks always at the wrong time that bothered my viewing experience. Too much silent-stare scenes between character. It's good when it's done to an appropriate amount, but here almost all the scenes include that, and the way it played showed how unnatural their mannerism are.
The main leads have zillion of chemistry, a shame that it wasn't utilized properly. To be honest, the first scene where Nak Won almost fell to the ground before being hold by Na Moo made me shivers just because how electric their energy are. Then their potential was clouded with the repetitive dialogue and scenes. Every time they meet, they always look at each other with tearful eyes, ask if both of them are okay, proceed to hug each other and sometimes kiss. Damn, I never knew someone actually used up the romantic slot like that.
I skipped scenes after ep 18, but turns out I love the dynamic between the mom, sister, and hyun moo. It's poignant yet sweet that little by little both mom and sister won hyun moo's heart, even though he still likes to wear that pouty-sour expression. I also have to applaud the ideas of making a killer's son and the victim's daughter fall in love. With this kind of plot, they could have created more tension fluctuating between love and hate in Na Moo and Nak Won's relationship. Too bad they made the connection flat by just emphasizing one emotion, which is pure love between them .
I definitely don't recommended this if you want a solid drama, but if you want to enjoy it as it is, then it's worth a try... although there are better dramas out there. 6.5/10 for me.
Idk what it is but I feel like they have no chemistry. I like them as individuals and love their acting in previous…
Rather than their chemistry, the writing and directing does give a big influence. When the scenes focus more on their intimate moments (like the sleepover night, or when they hold hands in sleep or look at each other dreamily, or talk casually about their personal lives), the chemistry feels strong to me. But, as soon as the story zoomed in to the workplace/professional ones, their interaction feels a bit bland at times. Maybe part of me was traumatized with Secretary Kim. I don't favor the writing style in Secretary Kim and I found some dramas to have similar style, including Her Private Life. The difference is that, Kim Jae Wook is just a very nuanced actor and he help contribute a distinct color to the show. The writing is also slightly better because until now it felt less repetitive than Secretary Kim. I hope it stays this way though.
