I'm not the kind of person who skipped scenes despite of the frustrating nature of that drama, yet I did this…
It's in my watch list with Life on Mars, but I'm gonna finish MC first.

This is the only drama where I don't skip any parts XD
I'm not the kind of person who skipped scenes despite of the frustrating nature of that drama, yet I did this to almost all on-going dramas this year, but not Matrimonial Chaos, I enjoy every seconds of it x)

I went ahead and read the spoilers.I find it boring that many people always expect leading male and leading female…
Well, I don't mind when the main lead end up with second lead under the condition that they have better chemistry than the main leads pair. But in this drama, I see no chemistry between Geum and Ok Nam. Weird enough, I keep buying Geum as Ok Nam's son rather than lover. That's the vibe he gives from his acting.
On Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter Nov 24, 2018
I personally believe Ok Nam would end up with Kim Geum just like the webtoon. But I feel her chemistry more with Yi Hyun, and I feel like Kim Geum here suits more with Soon Yi. I guess I'm not gonna keep my hopes high for the main leads to end up together.

Hwi Roo searching for squid in her bag after being splashed with alcohol is me when I got so shocked and stunned with what someone says or do to my face. The latest ep is such a rollercoaster. At this point, I just want Hwi Roo to be happy, even if it means not going back to Suk Moo.

I rated this with a 6.5. Don't shoot me ok! I know many people are probably offended right now since all the ratings…
Pelin that was pretty harsh. Expressing agree/disagreement is not a crime, so I'm not sure why you found Teleri's comment a bother. You could have just stated your opinion, not told off someone.
On Cheese in the Trap Apr 14, 2018
So I've watched it. I wouldn't say it's the brightest adaptation ever because it's more suited for a drama than a movie medium..

The chemistry of main leads wasn't there. Not much depth is thrown into characters relationship because again, this is a movie and the length made it harder to tackle.

If we were to talk about dynamic, I prefer KGE-PHJ rather than OYS-PHJ because the former have better chemistry. But still, movie Seol characterization is closer to home than drama Seol.

Overall, I prefer the movie actors rather than the drama actors. The way their characterization handled is much better in the movie, imo. The only drawback is the medium, which makes the whole story feel rushed.

7.8/10

I like the slow start. I can see the emotional struggle in both sides, and debating inside whether it is okay…
I guess I will have to watch ep 3 to make up my mind :)

I must be the only who can't feel their chemistry yet. I like Son Ye Jin's acting but not yet for Jung Hae In. I just feel that their on-screen energy is quite different and to make myself see them as a couple just failed me.

I like the mundane tone of the drama but couldn't quite immersed in it yet. I think it's a slow burn one.

This wasn't the case with Secret Love Affair, which I could easily enjoy.
Still this is quite different from the usual kdrama and I like it for that.

I thought the movie will be about their life after college...what’s the point of making a movie adaptation,…
Because the drama hasn't capture the feel of the webtoon characters correctly. There are some problems with the production, the writer of the webtoon wasn't involved during discussion. So she wants to start over, hoping that the movie will give justice to her work.

Do you read the webtoon? KGE did a good job, but she's not playing Seol. Seol is much more serious, she did a lot of thinking, and she's more meaner to Jung, in KGE version rather than webtoon Seol. Seol is goofy, but she's not timid at all. I think what I remember most in KGE scenes is that she looks scared and hesitated a lot. This is not what I see in webtoon Seol. She's goofy around her buddies but with acquaintance she's not used to, she was calm and keep a calculating facade.

It's not the same level of Signal in terms of story. If you happened to read my earlier comment (now deleted) I did change it and the rating too (It was 9). This show probably have the most low-key villain revelation ever. It just does not evoke a certain feeling at all, except for "Oh, so it's you. Dude, why did we go circling around for 16 eps when we know for certain that it's you?" There's not much scenes that could strongly emphasized how 'evil' he was, it kind of goes off radar and the writer wanted to you accept that he is in fact the bad guy on the last episode. Most of the time we only get shown him talking using phrases and idioms and probably they hope that it would make him sounds like a morally grey character, but this 'moral grey' thing is done more in words rather that action, that's why I couldn't accept his characterization. I must say it's not an effective way to build the tension.

The acting are overall great, but Lee Joon Hyuk's acting lacks a bit compared to other cast. I don't like Eun Soo at all, she struck me as 'invading' and pushy.

I honestly think that in terms of plot building, it's pretty decent, not much plot twists (I'm calling you 38 Task Force), but it's tightly paced and written. It also gives chance to viewers for a second watch as more details come into light (which you probably wouldn't get on first watch as too many details come at once, or coming in symbolism or subtle hints). Add that brilliant acting from Joo Seung Woo and Bae Doona, I offer show my 8.5./10.
On Live Up to Your Name Oct 17, 2017
The lead girl is a challenge to watch for first half of the episodes. I sensed the chemistry, but it still wasn't utilized much imo. There were some scenes that I wish they'd get more emotional because like, they probably haven't seen each other for years but when they met, their first reaction were standing still while looking each other. From a dramatic reunion pinpoint, it felt a bit anticlimactic.
Anyway, I appreciate this drama for the way they portray the relationship between doctor colleagues, the treatment (both acupuncture and modern one), and of course all the characters in general, and mostly, the comedy. It's really good.

You made my sufferings even worse, ehh :( I wish it was subbed already. I was going to watch this only for Kim…
At least you're not the only one suffering ://
But, don't mind me about the Secret Forest thing. I could be wrong because it's only my personal opinion.

I've watched the first two episodes in my native sub. Honestly, it's a solid show judging only from the two episodes. Great acting from the all the cast and the script is really good. I didn't watch another newsroom drama like Falsify so I can't compare. But this drama could be the next 'Signal' or 'Secret Forest' if they keep up the quality for the rest of episodes.
Seriously, this drama is really awesome. I hope english subs will be available somehow.

Can't help but feel this is overrated, the rating did a drop a bit from what it used to be though. You get perfect…
Characters. I feel emotionally connected to each of them, and how the charm works when they're together.

The big picture you're talking about, will you feel better if the writer explored more the source of this past-present connection, or how the chief's corrupted doing will tangled with the higher-ups interests?

If my assumption is right, then the reason why I could enjoy this drama was because I could look pass the big picture in exchange for the emotional journey of the main characters, and how the cases they deal with further collided with their desires and mentality. I love how Hae Young gradually accept the fate of his brother, or how Soo Hyun's devotion to Jae Han remains unaltered after all these times. All these inner struggles were written with depth that I, as viewer, felt them too.

Their desires are what intertwined their fate, and the way this connection played is depicted believably in each scenes.

If season 2 ever exist, you will probably find the big picture you're looking for. The loose threads with no beginning, if the writer do it right, it will find its way out in the end.

i don't recommend that though. you would probably miss things here and there if you skip to 9.

pacing wise, it gets better from episode 9.
On Chicago Typewriter Sep 9, 2017
pacing was a slowburn, but keep improving in latter episodes. i feel 100% emotionally invested on 1930s, not quite so in the modern timeline. the romance and friendship is poignant and bittersweet, and their visuals, especially seo young hwi is a treat for the eyes lol. Seeing the 1930s scenes makes me believe they would do just as fine by focusing on the past because of engaging and solid it is as a standalone. The cons, the present conflict felt bland compared to the high stakes, ambitious and revolutionary ones in the past. 8/10

okay so recently I rewatched this drama again and I wanna say something: I see a lot of comments that people think…
I love the cinematography. It's amazing. It was the plot, pacing, and Eun Tak that didn't draw me in.
This was the same case as DOTS for me. It felt like nothing really happened in the first 5 episodes. Too many talks, and I'm not used to that. I couldn't feel the chemistry between Eun Tak and Goblin. The pacing was draggy as well.
So yeah, I think it's overrated if you're giving high score for the three things I mentioned.
