RIP lady dong. I know it doesn't fit the story arc, but how fun would it have been to watch her strut around the palace pregnant with the king's baby? I think dong, the king, and sang wha were the strongest characters. They have 1 more episode to save it, but I think I'm ready to say that the FL was just a poorly written character. SSK is obviously beautiful and she has acted well in other things, I just don't think they gave her enough to work with. I also don't think the love story was crafted very well. There just wasn't enough substance to make it believable. The first 3 eps were pretty lovey-dovey, but it never really recovered after that. Maybe the ending will change my mind, just my feeling heading into tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

I'm trying to stay with this because the reviews are so good, how many episodes do I have to wait to get hooked?

vibes is the right word, I haven't watched POYM yet, but 3 episodes in and I'm loving this. When the quality is this good, a show can go as slow as it needs to.

I haven't watched flex x cop, but the FL looks like she could pull off impersonating a man. Since I haven't seen any shows that she's in, I can't say whether she has a vulnerable side.

Good choice! I still think she is to cute to impersonate a man, but she is really good at being tough and yet vulnerable.

Since we have a few days to kill let's have some fun, even if we love SSK let's just assume she wasn't right for this role. Given that assumption, let's hear the actress that you think would have been better for the FL in this show opposite JJS.

I'm American so a lot of the time the comedy doesn't translate very well. But as far as contemporary, historical, drama, romance, I like them all. I just like a good story that has a satisfying ending.

It's hard for me to listen to the chinese language so I've only watched korean and japanese. I'll give one a try sometime, what's the best one to start with?

I'm going to wait until the end to make a final verdict, but I agree with most of what you're saying. After watching through ep14, I think we were supposed to see her as a brilliant strategist, but then with all she went through she was too traumatized to see things clearly. She fell in love with someone she admired only to quickly be betrayed by him, she lost her father and her close friend died as well. In ep14, she says she's been in the underworld. This could be poor acting, but the director may have wanted this kind of performance from her. We've seen her in other shows, we know she is a good actor. For me, it just took too long for us to see how damaged she was. The revenge plot was dumb because she wasn't in her right mind. If that was shown better, and if we could have seen it sooner I think it would have helped.

It sounds like most of us don't like sad endings, does anyone actually like them and if so, why? Are there any shows you like even though they have a sad ending?

sad endings are so lazy and unsatisfying.

1. I can see the king bringing down jong hwan, but I don't know how he does it without bringing down dowager (his own mother) with him. His brother's dying wish was to punish those who poisoned him, how can he punish his own mother? And I would think this includes lady dong since she administered the poison.

2. It will be interesting to see what role lady dong will play. It sounds like she just wants to end her own life. Since she loves the king, it's hard to believe she would kill him, but she might be so bitter about Hee Soo that she will do it out of spite.

3. Given that Myung Ha now knows the truth about his father, it's hard for me to believe that he will go against the king, unless like lady dong he is just bitter about ML and FL

4. It seems like the ML and FL are now aligned. There are no secrets left between them so it seems like the fight will be them against everyone else. Still curious if she is pregnant?

5. I expect we will see Hyun Bo get what he has coming to him.

6. They made it seem like the king's surprise witness would be lady dong, but I wonder if it will actually be the return of Hang Soon.

7. I hope there is a happy ending, but I could see the king dying, leaving Hee Soo carrying his child.

Let's hope we have a satisfying finale. This could be one of my favorite shows if they can pull it off. Fingers crossed!

haha, ep8 and its a pretty good reveal, ep13 is good for a lot of important info revealed as well. There's some dumb stuff along the way, but it's pretty good so far.

I just googled it, increased heart rate is indeed a side effect of pregnancy. Hmmm...

It would have been so much more believable if the king and chu were fighting and Hee Soo was stabbed when she tried to intervene. This just looked silly
