Never seen such a disgusting "mother-figure" like this before, in any other drama. Never seen such an awful "family". I will continue to stand by WYF. You can't really say anything if you don't understand how she feels. This victim blaming is honestly so rude?? Twitter and tiktok users have WAY more sympathy/empathy towards WYF than some people I see here......sure the story may have differed from the novel, but it is an adaptation after all. We've got to understand that this is all built for the angst and tension. Wonder how people would react if this role was reversed. WYF was constantly failed by everyone around her. The adults around her. Everyone. So ofc, she probably still has constant trust issues due to how young she was when everything started piling up. You've got to remember, she was only 18. She lost the 2 people whom she loved, and was abandoned by her mother, a sole figure who plays a massive part in one's development in life. It breaks my heart to see her suffering in the flashbacks.
And for SY, if you think he deserves better, then really he would have left ages ago. But his endearing and unconditional love towards WYF is what makes it beautiful. Despite everything, he's willing to go far distances just to protect her. What do you expect: ah, SY decides to try move on, WYF grows jealous, they end up reconciling, or even "better" part ways with each other completely - that's even messier than anything being portrayed in the drama.
This drama is a slow burn for a reason. A slow burn for us to recognise their longing affection towards each other, even after these 8 long years, how they were never able to move on due to the mark they both indented into one another. A slow burn for us to see how even despite conflicts and seperations, they will eventually find their ways to one another and fight together. Really makes me wonder: if the roles were switched and the ML's were this "complicated" as some may say (which I think is really ridiculous", how would people react? Ah, the women is just compassionate and understanding, that's how they "should" be. Mind you, the large majority of TTF watchers are female, so I'd expect some understanding towards this situation, especially as it's exploring a sensitive topic which many women face in society. If even some male watchers can show understanding towards WYF, why can't we? I guess some people are too used to seeing "perfect" dramas that sugarcoat things. This drama is realistic in the way they portray each of the character's and their struggles. WYF, my dear love, they will never make me hate you. The ones to blame are her family, particularly that mother of hers 🙄 for not doing anything about it. Not standing up for her own daughter. Not being a mother. She was the only "close" source of relationship that WYF had left, but she abused that role and manipulated WYF into thinking she has got nothing to blame.
but advance access is available on monday March 10 where episodes 29-32 can be accessed by those who pay. However, it'll probably all be available on other sites
yeah, and then after the "check up" thingy, they shorted it, erasing 13 episodes. I just hope the things that were cut where just extra bits like 2nd leads, 3rd leads, etc. though
It hasn’t even been that long since ep 23 released, and yet ep 24’s trailer is so misleading. Feel like it’s just a few flashback scenes. That monologue has to be from the past. Please, why’d they choose not to air anything tomorrow😭😭
Please, let this cast be fixed🙏I already fear the day that the first frost finishes airing, as I know i'll end up in a depressing mess😭 BJT and ZRN deserve to get casted together again after their beautiful performance and chemistry in the first frost!!
I've been rewatching it from the beginning on netflix as it's hd quality and i've been able to catch more details in the drama which I may not have been able to spot the first time, but it's been rather slow (currently 3 eps behind). went to check it today, and i guess they're catching up, but still, it's quite slow. such a shame they don't plan on releasing ep 23 on thursday to catch up with youku's schedule😔
Ofc, I will repeat my message: Yes, though I'm eagerly waiting for all these eps to hurry and come out, I'm gonna experience THE most heaviest post-cdramas depression ever once it's all over😭😭😭 Been waiting SO LOOONGGGG for this drama. Been waiting to see xiaobai and nanan together for the longest time ever. While I want the episodes to come out faster, I also don't want to see it end😖. It's literally been a daily routine for me to hop onto this page during my free time at school to keep updated with everything in between study periods, a daily routine for me to hop onto Twitter/X and scroll through my "the first frost"-filled homepage, and a daily routine for me to witness the amount of love and support this drama has been getting from all across the internet - tiktok, instagram, weibo, youtube, twitter, etc.
You can say whatever you want, you can have your own opinions and thoughts, but that won't change the way I feel towards this drama. What a beauty and treasure it is too be presented with one of (well, the best in my opinion) the best cdramas at the beginning of 2025. I've been watching cdramas for a very long time now, and it's been so long since I last felt so immersed in a drama like this. My first cdrama was Go Ahead, and for these past few years, nothing has ever been able to top it. It had really set my standards high. However, with The First Frost, I have to admit, it's come to the same level, if not, even surpassed, Go Ahead for me. The First Frost occupies a deep and large corner in my heart. The story is so well written, the director's choices in his camerawork, the displays of aspects like light and reflections. It's all been executed so well - I'm currently doing film studies for English at school, so this drama has really helped captivate me into the world of cinema. This drama is just full on CINEMA. Everything about it is honestly so beautiful (ofc, except the ridiculous family of hers, the nosy and "can't-respect-boundaries" intern, and that uncle.....).
Well, let's try and make the most of the remaining time being, until March 10🥹🫶

according to the novel, there isn't anything but love - so no unnecessary split ups, etc. but WYF does end up…
it's been awhile since I read it, but basically SY gets ready to get physical (I believe there's like a small clip in one of the trailers or something showing just a small snippet of this - I think it was also in one of the BTS clips). But SY eventually gets physical with the uncle-guy and is ready to go full out for what he did to WYF
this scene is honestly, just. so. BEAUTIFUL. zhang ruonan has completely stolen my heart for her portrayal of WYF. it's so beautiful yet heartbreaking. 🫶 😖 https://x.com/scenophile/status/1896063005185753584
I am kinda concerned since there are 12 more episodes even tho they are happy
according to the novel, there isn't anything but love - so no unnecessary split ups, etc. but WYF does end up revealing her past to SY after he gets kinda suspicious at the events which are occurring to her, and he seeks for revenge. but other than that, I just need these two to be happy 😭😭
And for SY, if you think he deserves better, then really he would have left ages ago. But his endearing and unconditional love towards WYF is what makes it beautiful.
