On The Wind Blows from Longxi May 1, 2022
What a surprise reveal of Zhulong! The plot must become even twistier after this. And then there is a deceiving translator on iqiYi who translated xiongdi as Chen Gong. That would truly deceive English speakers. This is the first show that I think Sun Yi got a role that suits her.

I truly enjoyed this show despite an awful translation and lack of it. Or maybe I am just partial to Northern Song. I love it when villains are fought with business instead of kungfu. It even gets better towards the end.

Mixed reviews as expected. Everything is about expectation management. I hoped for a lot so I will nitpick a little bit. There was no need for the first five minutes. The well-known historical facts could have been brought in through subsequent narratives. Why is in ancient China everything green-tinted? I don't like the actor who portrays Zhuge Liang. There is nothing awe-inspiring in his act. I never had this problem in previous movies and dramas. For certain roles, this is a must, just like Xi Shi has to be beautiful. I have problems distinguishing characters. Everybody has a trimmed beard so I think I am watching Tree Muskateers. Did men really have so much time to spend on their beards in those volatile years? So many actors in this show have distinguished voices but I just don't hear them. Sun Yi is the only exception. On the positive side, I also like the summary at the end. We'll have to wait until episode 24 to find out who Zhulong is.

Maybe because of the same book writer. Both Luoyang and Longxi are from Ma Bo Yong's novel. Thats why iQiyi said…
Both Secret of three kingdoms and Luoyang suffer from the same syndrome - historical boundary conditions. I hope in the new show Ma Boyang will stay away from Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi so the suspense will be on until the end.

You finished watching all 22 episodes of a Stupid and Boring Drama???? I won't say anything more.... hehehe this…
I wanted to see how her father would become the emperor. Or maybe to find out whether the crown prince was a villain or not. But the story has no substance and I will say the outcome has been as expected. But I agree, the OST is catchy especially after being forced to watch it so many times. I am looking forward to AvenueX posting her praise/rant video about it. Or maybe she won't since it is not a Ming Dynasty drama and costumes cannot compare to those of Jinyiwei.

Stupid and boring. No story and 20 episodes too long, everything else is incessant flashbacks and constant musical videos. Is Crystal Yuan still blacklisted that she has had to accept such a crappy role?

What? Cancer therapy in china is still less expensive than in the US
But in the US it would have been paid by mother's insurance. If they had no money it would have been paid by the government. There wouldn't be a drama where so many unrelated families have to go destitute.

Gouxue till the end. It peaks at the beginning of the last episode, followed by a classical catharsis. I am appalled at how Americanized the Chinese society is. It is drowning in shitty consumerism. It seems they took everything the worst from us. The greed of the Chinese Healthcare system is tenfold worse than that in the US. If I were in China last week I wouldn't have made it. How did this show with such a damning verdict of the modern Chinese society made it through the censorship?

Nobody wants to spoil the ending so I will have to gather the courage to finish watching it. The Douban rating is still 8.0. The show is great but I cannot stand Yinuo. But it is not suitable for everyone as it can be a health hazard. After watching episode 27 I fell and broke my spine.

The drama became more watchable once Yinuo remarried. But it is not even halfway and Little Sprout gets sick. It seems that the gouxie storm will go unabated.

I am on 18 episode and he annoys me. Will it get even worse?
There are only three likeable characters: Feng Xiaoqin, Zhan Xiang, and Qingyu's father. The three worst characters are Shi Yuan and his mother, and Danian. I stopped watching with 8 episodes to go because there will be a messy ending. If the ending will be happy then it will be an act of god as humans cannot resolve this favorably anymore.

Although the screenwriter has a good track history I am really bothered by the names she gave to kids in this show. Which idiot would name their sons Digua and Huihui. Especially, the latter sounds like bad karma.

It is hard to sympathize with Ning Shu. He has serious mental illness besides his epilepsy. All main characters have their dark sides so it is more about the revenge between evil. If the show ended with episode 33 more people would be satisfied. There was no need for more drama at the end. I wish I could get a job at By-the-water. They pay you $300k and you never need to work. You can spend all your time on revenge.
On YouTube, there are only 60 episodes and there is no closure for Yingying. Besides, this is based on Shuo Tang so I wouldn't expect any romance at all in the first place. I was more bothered that they never showed how Wang Bodang's wife died. They only mentioned it as a matter of fact.

It seems nobody is watching it. If you are still on the sideline I can give you some personal impressions. The story seems eerily realistic. As it is typical for Chinese dramas it is all about baochou. If you expect a melodrama I haven't seen any in the first 14 episodes. They even tell you that a romance between chouren is not possible. If a romance will ever happen later on it will make Ning You very buxiao. Yuan Quan is acting great but I don't like her character. She tries to be nice but she is hurting people left and right. Actually, I am even more impressed with the actress who acts like a younger Ning You. It is a serious drama and the only humor comes from the Google translator, which is calling ML's son literally sweet potato.
