Title Captivating the King Spoiler
I'm only afraid of ML 2. I think his hatred and jealousy is a ticking time bomb. I'm afraid it won't be a happy…
True. I'm starting to think it's gotten to the point where he would rather see Hee Soo dead than admit he was wrong and let her be happy with Lee In.

Title Captivating the King Spoiler
I refuse to believe that someone as scheming as Lee In has not had every person involved in this matter closely watched since he decided to speed walk into the endgame. He could not possibly let his uncle run around without making sure that he knows everything he is doing especially after giving him that 24 hour ultimatum. He would not possibly just let Court Lady Dong roam about meeting different actors in this scheme without watching her when he knows she's the only living link that can tie his uncle to the previous King's death. I refuse to believe that he would just leave things to chance in that way.

We've seen how manipulative and strategic Lee In is, to the extent that even now, his uncle thinks this scheme is a ploy simply to clear his name for the rest of his reign. It still hasn't occurred to him that Lee In does not want to be king at all and never wanted the crown. He makes every move on the assumption that Lee In will do anything to keep power without considering that he actually loved his brother and only wants justice to be done. So I refuse to believe that there aren't some hidden moves that have yet to be revealed. The alternative is simply unacceptable.

I fully believe he will either not succumb to the poison scheme or will let himself be poisoned as a way to achieve his final goal. I don't think he will let himself die without doing what he set out to do but I also think he will have no problem putting his life on the line if he thinks it will get the job done. Maybe this will end with his "death" so the CP can take over while he and Mong Woo move to Beijing to live with her father.

Title Captivating the King Spoiler
Ah, our friend cyclops is finally being put to good use! The stabbing was not as charged and climactic as I expected but still, a good way to have all the secrets come pouring out. I also like that Mong Woo acknowledged that she didn't okay the assassination for her plan but rather because of emotions. It would've been so silly if her real plan was to kill the king now.

Now that both sides are sharing information, I hope they can work together properly. I know the preview showed Myung-ha going to the evil uncle, but he knows that the old man wants the CP dead so I suspect it's an attempt at a double cross.

I'm starting to wonder if we will ever see the official return of Hee Soo or if that will only happen after the king has given up the throne for his nephew. Like almost everyone, I too suspect that she might be pregnant and that's going to add more stakes to this especially with Lady Dong knowing the truth about her. Lots to look forward to in the final episodes and I'm glad.

Title Captivating the King Spoiler
Mong Woo keeps working with half-assed information and that's what is most frustrating to watch. I know everyone hates her now, but we are all coming at this with the god's eye view as watchers of the drama. From her conversation with cyclops earlier on, it seems everyone believes that Lee In was a Qing spy who had the king murdered and then interrupted the line of succession to seize power knowing that the Qing empire has his back. Even Myung-ha didn't know his father was a traitor and just believed whatever he was told. So while we all know who did what all those years ago (except maybe who actually poisoned the king), Mong Woo only knows a fraction of that and it's all the wrong bits.

Even if her cause was righteous, I expect her to know that killing the king the moment he names his nephew as the Crown Prince is the stupidest move on so many levels. The CP is too young to rule and has no alliances within the palace right now. He would just be overwhelmed and overthrown with very little effort. In fact, I would say the only reason the boy has lived this long is because Lee In protects him and Mong Woo just decided to eliminate the boy's only shield in the palace. All because she got her feelings hurt eavesdropping and didn't just talk to the king to see what was really going on.

I'm curious to see how they plan to work this one out though since she will now have tried to kill him.

Poor babies, they should really just move abroad! They have great skills and knowledge, all they are missing are…
Honestly, with friends like them who needs enemies?

It might sting a bit, but I'm a little glad that it's not smooth sailing right away. I really wanted them to be happy for longer, but they do need to deal with their individual issues. Anytime JW said HN was like his medication, I got a bad feeling cos that's not a healthy relationship. I hope they can get better and be together later on.

Now, for her friend, I don't know if I'm angry or just disappointed with her. Why on earth would she share that information with HN, knowing that she has depression? I know she said the other doctor asked her to convince JW but since she knew HN was the girlfriend in question, why tell her that she's essentially ruining her boyfriend's life with her illness? It was such a stupid thing to do.

The anaesthesiologist was so unserious. He could've mailed the flash drive to JW, sent the footage online, posted it online, sent it to the police, sent it to a news agency... Literally anything and everything before stalking JW and breaking into his home to leave a spy pen on his desk which he may or may not have seen and deciphered on time. I'm glad that particular mystery is over though so I'm not looking this gift horse in the mouth.

I'm curious to understand why his senior/friend is so weird and creepy cos I still haven't gotten over when he told JW he didn't deserve to be happy??? Who says that to someone they supposedly care about? He seems like the sort who'd have been secretly rejoicing over JW's misfortune but maybe there's another explanation for the vibe and behaviour.

I wish her mom's outburst had been at one of those leeches who called themselves his friends instead of the one guy who actually cared about and was rooting for him throughout the whole ordeal.

I'm looking forward to some tooth-rotting sweetness ahead with our lead couple and I hope they have less drama than most cos they're both silly beans and they deserve to be happy.

Throughout that climactic scene in ep 11, I kept thinking to myself, y'all really need to know more about this man and his relationship with his son before scheming. It would have been perfect if the king had just granted the first cup of tea to the old man instead. Trying to be poetic and have it be his son was just a waste of time. I would also have liked if they had offered the tea to his wife, to see if he would have let her drink it or if he actually cares about her. I am very excited for the final episode because now that the truth is out about Yeo Hwa's brother, she will go rogue in a heartbeat.

So iv read the comments and seen how people are so disappointed by the FL and her revenge. listen I'm Team the…
I thought the maid was paid to let the girl they planned to switch with the princess remain with the princess. I thought that was why she said the girl could stay while all the other maids were changed cos she's been their spy in the palace since before Mong Woo's return.

Halfway there, any exposure and the Qing escort would become aware of the deception. Here it is still an internal…
Maybe, but the highest risk to the plan was at the palace and they didn't do everything to prevent exposure at the palace because they switched so early. Even if the plan had been to switch at the palace initially, after the maids were all changed they should have known extra eyes were on them and changed it to the house outside the palace. I cannot comprehend how they didn't see this being a problem especially when the maids were all being watched extra closely. As someone said though, it's just for the plot cos it doesn't make sense at all, unless they provide some explanation for why this was the only way it could've been done.

My thoughts exactly. The plan would have worked if they had done the change half way, and I was expecting that…
Since they stopped at that place and the girl was meant to be one of her servants anyway, I feel like it could have been accomplished. They just went about it in the worst possible way. They could still have had her run away and all they would have heard back home was that one of the servants ran away and the assumption would've been that she was scared to go to Qing since everyone would've seen the princess actually leave for Qing.

Also, I really need to commend the kids playing the young royals. Their performances have been among the most moving in the drama. I've really enjoyed watching them, especially the young Grand Prince.

I was certain the substitution would happen at the midway point. Why on earth would they do it at the palace when anyone could and indeed did notice? I expected it to happen along the way to Qing so that the Princess could really be free and that they would have people waiting for her on the way. It was a good plan to substitute her but very poorly executed and now everyone who is actually blameless will get in trouble.

I can't imagine them getting past this without at least one person being killed or exiled, likely the Queen. She lives such a pitiful life as queen and really doesn't deserve any of this. I also expect Mong Woo to be exiled or something so that Hee Soo can return and I would like that to happen sooner rather than later.

Lee In really said no need to question these feelings and just went for it. Love that for them cos the knife in his heart will be that much deeper once the revenge plot starts coming together and the reveal eventually happens. I'm looking forward to new episodes even more now

Ak Hee is such a lovable menace. He's chaos personified and if/when Sajo Hyun can finally face his trauma and unite both sides of his personality, he'll be unstoppable. Park Ji Hoon is doing an amazing job in this role and I'm really enjoying watching him.

This show is equal parts ridiculous and captivating. I'm having too much fun with it even though some of the wigs have me dying of laughter too. I love it!

I thought we all knew JeongMin was in on it when he saw blood in the bathroom and didn't say anything about it. Plus he was literally leading Jian down the path to the business by her nose. I'm really enjoying this show, and I really like the killers who are ridiculous but also competent enough to be a real threat. Also, Minhye is an actual goddess and I love her.

I hope Jian kicks JeongMin's behind and I hope it happens soon.

I had so much fun watching this! I don't know what compelled me to check it out, but I'm glad I did. I loved the way the food was presented and the anime-like ways they approached cooking and excelling in the culinary world. I was also intrigued by the mystery of Gaku's transformation which I found very relatable in the end.

Highly recommend!

It was the self-sacrifice olympics to the very end but I'm used to that with this genre. I had a blast watching this drama and exchanging thoughts here with some of y'all.

I was anxious about whether we'd get to see the wedding of the season and I'm glad they delivered cos Hong Yi and Yan Shuang deserved nothing less. Everyone got a nice little happy ending, even the dreaded peacock (happy enough ending, I suppose).

I'm looking forward to my next obsession now that this is over but I will be rewatching some scenes over and over, like Yan Shuang showing up in the demon realm and calling herself queen of the demons 😍 *chef's kiss*.
