It follows the intense training and actual missions of the SR (Special Rescue) squad of the Yokohama Fire Bureau. It features a younger Nakamaru Yuichi and Masuda Takahisa. It’s very much about the physical and mental toll of being a firefighter. If you enjoyed the mentor-student dynamic between Kaneshita and Yuki, you’ll find plenty of that here.

There is a massive seven-year time jump here. The original four are now the "seniors" and mentors to a new group of messy, inexperienced fellows. It’s a great "full circle" season that shows how much the original cast has matured.

This season is often considered the most emotional. The fellows are nearing the end of their training and have to face the reality of their own limitations. It dives much deeper into their backstories, especially Aizawa’s (Tomohisa Yamashita) family secrets.

Four young "fellows" (interns) compete to be the best while training to become flight doctors on the "Doctor Heli" system. It’s gritty and focuses on their personal ambitions and the shock of seeing real trauma for the first time.

11-episode drama where it all started. It introduces Kota Kitami (played by Suzuki Ryohei), a fearless doctor who believes "waiting won't save lives." He leads a team in a massive, specially designed ambulance that is essentially a mobile operating room. The tension usually comes from Kitami wanting to rush into danger while the politicians (and his rival, Dr. Otowa, played by Kaku Kento) try to shut the project down.

Season 1 to this follow-on. Its a human procedural drama that doesn't focus on the firefighters running into buildings or the doctors in the ER; instead, it focuses on the Command Center—the invisible first responders who take the calls.

Both FL are Generals, and have lost their actual families, but have built families with their military brothers.

MLs are princes, who doesn't realize their affection for the FL right away.

They start out as transactional relationships, which then delves deeper into love, but is challenged with all the political details.

Both about teams trying to succeed while those in power around them are trying to pull them down and ruin them.

I feel like both of these leads have similar motivations and the shows are both gripping and relentless.

While Enigma Black Stage (and its first season, Enigma) isn't a GL, both are horror thrillers that deal with Thai supernatural beliefs. It also stars several GL actresses, including Namtan Tipnaree and Jingjing Yu in Enigma Black Stage; and Piploy Kanyarat, Earn Preeyaphat, and Prigkhing Sureeyares in the first season.

Both stories revolve around hidden identities and fallen or undercover protagonists navigating dangerous power structures, with characters forced to conceal their true selves to survive while becoming entangled in larger political or sect-based conflicts, and in both narratives unlikely alliances form through rivalry and mistrust, gradually turning into cooperation as the characters investigate deeper conspiracies, balance personal motives with greater causes, and uncover truths that powerful factions want buried.

Both stories are set in a historical Chinese setting and center on strong, self-determined female leads who refuse to conform to traditional expectations. In both narratives, love and marriage are not obligations but conscious choices made by the female protagonists, who maintain agency and control within their relationships. The male leads do not overpower the story; instead, they respect the women’s independence and gradually form partnerships based on mutual trust, intelligence, and emotional growth. Both dramas highlight a balanced power dynamic in romance, combining social or political intrigue with character-driven relationships.
