Shibata Ichiha, who entered a publishing company dreaming of becoming a fashion magazine editor, learns on her very first day that the magazine has been discontinued. With her dream crushed, she spends her days stagnating in the editorial department of a lifestyle magazine. Her fate takes a dramatic turn when she meets charismatic model and ultra–queen-like diva Haizawa Aria. Assigned to launch Aria’s new romance-advice column, Ichiha is even forced into working as its ghostwriter.
At her wits’ end, Ichiha visits a university hoping to interview a “specialist in the study of romance,” only to encounter Associate Professor Shido Tsukasa, a hyper-cool, human-averse researcher who studies not human romance, but animal courtship behavior. Though the two clash at first, they gradually come to realize that the ways animals express love contain unexpected hints for solving the modern dilemmas of work, romance, and human relationships.

Speed and Love is similar to Shine On Me because both dramas focus on young people chasing their dreams while slowly discovering love along the way. In both stories, romance doesn’t overpower the plot at first; instead, it grows naturally as the characters spend time together, face challenges, and learn to understand each other. The emotional connection is built through shared struggles, encouragement, and quiet support rather than instant attraction. Just like Shine On Me, Speed and Love blends romance with personal growth, showing how ambition, pressure, and life choices affect relationships. There is also a strong sense of passion and determination in both dramas, where love becomes a source of strength rather than a distraction. Overall, both series give off an inspiring yet emotional vibe, making the romance feel motivating, heartfelt, and deeply connected to the characters’ journeys.
The Best Thing feels very similar to Shine On Me because both dramas focus on a soft, slow-burn romance that grows naturally rather than rushing into love. In The Best Thing, the relationship develops through quiet moments, meaningful conversations, and emotional understanding, much like how Shine On Me builds connection step by step. Both stories put a lot of emphasis on emotional healing and personal growth, showing characters who are dealing with stress, past wounds, or inner struggles and slowly learning to open their hearts through love. The romance is gentle and comforting, filled with everyday interactions that feel realistic and warm instead of dramatic or exaggerated. Just like Shine On Me, The Best Thing has a calm, soothing vibe that makes you feel relaxed while watching, focusing more on feelings, support, and companionship than on heavy conflict. Overall, it gives the same cozy, heart-touching experience where love feels safe, healing, and quietly beautiful. The ML fall first troupe is kinda similar.
- Both dramas are based on a past relationship that didn’t work out. Later, the FL starts working at the male lead’s company.
- Poor FL, rich CEO ML
- Hardworking and strong female leads imo!

ML is in both dramas the underdog
Both dramas have racing elements.
Good romance.
The female lead in Mars has under the surface a bunch of dark stuff to work through.
Great story with depth.
S&L fl is more fluff, but with character and brain under her seemingly spoiled behavior

-Even though both stories are different, there's some things I found pretty similar in both stories...
DWTT tells the tale of Nanyi, a prostitute born daughter of wealthy family, who naver saw her father and Xue Queshan, a traitor general born of a ignored concubine in a established family....
TTGH tales story of A chou/Wei Rao and Lu Zou...
Nanyi and A chou are fundamentally pretty similar, both of them had a extremely difficult childhood, who tried to live in a chaotic time, married in a den of wolves, they had to strive and fight continuously to preserve their life...
Even though the ML's seemed like they opposed the FL's, the more story goes on, the more it seems different....
