The Moon truly does rise where the River is

Acting and Characters: Kim So Hyun was absolutely perfect as Pyeonggang. Na In Woo took on the difficult job of filling in On Dal after Ji Soo got dropped and exceeded all expectations. Lee Ji Hoon was the swoony SML that we grew to love and hate. Choi Yu Hwa did an amazing job portraying a cunning yet kind-hearted Silla spy. The side characters were all so lovable. Pung Gae and Jin were so cute. The Queen and Go Won Pyo were extremely well portrayed. Won (or King Yeongyang) was lovable as a teen and despised as an adult. King Pyeongwon was a character that we grew to love over the course of the show.

Plot: The plot was iffy at times but it was bearable. It didn't help that they rush a couple of episodes and write a whole new set of episodes due to the allegations around Ji Soo. Overall I think they did a really good job of sticking to the history and folktale while giving us the viewers some fanservice with that ending. They did Geon and Won (or King Yeongyang) dirty in the latter half of the show, but at least we got their true character back by the end. The "death" of On Dal was kind of unnecessary but I get why they did it. They needed to stay somewhat true to the ending of the folktale.

OST and Cinematography: OST was amazing. The soundtracks used for the battle scenes so perfectly. The main OST was lovely. The cinematography was absolutely stunning at times. One of the better cinematographies I've seen. The setting for the scenes was absolutely beautiful. The camerawork was pretty good. Overall a very well-produced show given the circumstances.

Final Score: 9/10

Now If you are looking to watch something light and refreshing this is the drama for you.

The drama itself was a pretty good drama, not one of the best I've seen but I did enjoy watching it. Its one of those dramas you have to keep watching to like.

I really enjoyed the acting, characters were really unique and entertaining to watch. I mean you get to see both No Min Woo and Park Ki Woong play completely different roles from what we are used to and on top on that they sing >< .....I just loved the music. The songs were really fun and catchy.

Any who definitely recommend if you are in the mood of watching a light romantic/comedy.

P.S NO this drama does not have anything to do with the first Full House but the name.

I'm new in watching family dramas, so I'm no expert on dramas like this, but I'm writing a review for it because this isn't a very popular drama, maybe because of its length. Maybe after reading this someone will put it in their PTW list and maybe some people will delete it from it, who knows? It's up to you, who are reading this.
There were a lot of things that I liked about this drama and a lot of things that I didn't.
The acting was one of the best thing of the drama. Each actor and actress did a great job portraying his or her character and they complemented each other perfectly as a family. Sometimes they fought, sometimes they cried and sometimes they were plain hilarious, but each time they did it as a family. Seeing them like that kind of made me wish I had such a huge family like them!
The music was a lot better than I expected, I even learned the lyrics for the songs! There was one that was specially catchy, the one with the ?vis a vis face to face? chorus.
Now to the main part: the story. This is a really long drama,so the story is like several stories put together. The first chapters were really frustrating for me to watch because every character is really annoying and dumb. They made me just want to smack them really hard.
But then, as the story continues you learn to love these characters even with their flaws, and feel what they're feeling. Maybe, you will even learn to relate to them.
In my opinion it was a wonderful story, because it wasn't the kind of story that made you want to dramathon through the drama, but it grew on you slowly and made you want to keep watching what happened to this crazy family, and how each character grew (they really needed to grow, ALL of them).
The downside of this drama for me was that it was extended. I think the drama would've been a lot better if they had finished it in episode 39-40. The last 5 episodes were a torture for me to watch, because I felt like I had already witnessed the end of the story, and that the last few episodes were a really LONG epilogue, and no one wants long epilogues.
Overall this a really funny, light and heart warming drama. It is constantly entertaining and you will never get bored watching it, there's always a crazy scene waiting in the next 5 minutes. If you're in the mood for something like that, this drama is just for you :)

Framing Weiyoung

Repetitive, boring, there may not be words that better describe Princess Weiyoung. Even a story based on conspiracy, betrayal and a hint of melodrama cannot abuse an appeal in this way. Okay, the protagonist is chased, she has many enemies, but is it necessary to use the framing tactics all the time? Didn't the writers realize that the protagonist being framed almost every episode tires the viewer, even those who like "tricks"? My discontent is huge that I refuse the biggest episode 34, which was the last one I saw, sad because the story seemed promising.

EDIT:

I finish the drama but my opinion remains the same

FLUFFY VAMPIRES

I never thought id say this but this is probably the fluffiest vampire romance ever . If you want an easy to watch, easy to finish romance then this is for you.

This is an 8 - 16minutes episodes (which is really about 14 if you cut out the cheesy opening and closing credits) series with nothing but cute guys and fluffiness. Seriously. before watching the finale i had to rewatch the first episodes because i forgot about the events in them. Its a story about a vampire "family" living together with a normal human.

I love fluffy and light shows and i really iiked the series, however, to be quite honest, there is so much to be desired storywise. The vampire lore was so thin i wondered why they have to be vampires. I almost always ask why, for the love of god, does Koresn BL industry insist on being this short - the limited screentime allowed very little story and character development. It may have been better if it was released as a binge or compiled as a movie but i still think the plot is too thin to really make an impact.

Its pretty obvious the entire series has limited budget and that its possible the entire series may have been shot on a day or two.

The saving grace of the series are the main actors - Yu SIn and Park Dong Ju are real cuties and they did really well as Ju Won and Dong Ha considering the fact that they are almost brand new to acting and what limited material they have. I already loved Lee Tae Hyung from Match Play and its really good to see him in another BL i just hoped the series used him more. I specially loved the acting in the end of episode 7 between Ju Won and Seon Jay, with that alone id say Yu SIn has a pretty bright acting future ahead.

The other couple is mostly used for comedic relief and their kiss at the last episode was so fake i wonder why the series felt the need to add it to the story.

So would i recommend? Definitely. Would i rewatch? Im not entirely sure. Its a good and light series but its also quite forgetable i dont think id remember it after a month. Overall im giving it a strong 8 mostly for the cast and the entertainment value.

Hoping for a season 2!!

Since im a huge fan of JU JING Yi, im super bias here, i liked the drama overall and enjoyed it HAHAH although it wasnt the best!! Still enjoyed it.

Firstly, the starting part, ju jing yi is abit too outstanding for being a maid? Like make up and everthing but i understand because shes the mainlead and should be more outstanding, just found it abit funny hehe.

2nd, the plot of romance was too rushed i got abit confused, they didnt declare they liked each other and suddenly they kissed and make out if im not wrong a few moments ago they were just master and student? Nonetheless still watched it because im a fan of XIAO JU!! ^.^

3rd, they had 3-4 different lives i think and all had the same ending which is very sad though, why can’t the male lead do something different and not kill FL. Anyways still love both of their acting HAHAH i love their chemistry :) hope they will act again in another drama or season 2. Wished the director and writer could have not rushed the plots and everything :((

OST - my heart aches everytime i listen to the OST.. the lyrics relates so much to the drama, ju jing yi voice is just so mesmerising and you can actually feel her emotions from the song.. which makes me 10000times more emotional 😭😭 but still the song slayed love it! Do LISTEN TO the song even if yall dont really like the drama MUAHAHA

Ending was very confused and upsetting 🥲 I hope there will be a season 2 to continue where the left us wondering what actually happened.. WISHED THEY GAVE US A GOOD ENDING BUT QUITE DISAPPOINTED THEY DIDNT HAISS, im guessing the director wants us to assume and imagine the ending however we like? PLEASE GIVE US season 2 and i will forgive your confused ENDING SIR/mdm! hehe

I started watching this drama because the plot seemed interesting. How would the characters react when they realize they are in a fake world, with a fate already decided ? And not even the main characters of the story ? The first episodes where Dan Oh realizes that and wants to change her fate made me hope it would be a refreshing drama, but it didn't last long.
After that, the drama is just the typical romance in high school. And I couldn't even get myself to support the main couple because screenwriters made Haru look completely dumb in the beginning. I even wondered if he was supposed to have a handicap or something. I understand some scenes were for fan service purpose, but it could have been done in a less stupid way. So you might be happy if you're a fan of Rowoon to begin with, but I was just facepalming. Plus Rowoon isn't very good at acting, although it gets a little better at the end. So for most of the drama I couldn't believe he loved Dan Oh. And the problem is, that's the only thing his character is here for. He doesn't have a back story like Kyung that could have made me like another aspect of him.

Other than that, this drama is full of dramas' clichés (you'll even find one TWICE) and of "plot twists" that you can see coming from miles away. At some points I thought I would be surprised, that things will be less simple than I thought... and no. It never happened. This drama doesn't take any risks, and it's such a letdown with a promising plot like that. Except for one character (who is not even a main one) most characters don't have any evolution, or a veeery rushed one as if screenwriters just realized the end was near and almost nothing had changed. The ending was meh because again, it was nothing I couldn't predict.

The only things I liked in this drama are :
1) the two first episodes where Dan Oh realizes she's a mere extra in a comic.
2) characters laughing at the ridiculousness and cheesiness of their comic world, very similar to Boys over flowers. While actually, Extraordinary you is also very cheesy.
3) Kyung, only because he was the main source of things actually happening in the drama which is otherwise very plain. But I got sick pretty quickly of the lead/second lead dynamic with Haru.

To sum it up this drama is boring and couldn't live up to my expectations, and I really don't understand why some people love it so much.

Producer Ahn Pan Seok is considered one of Korea's finest PDs for three main reasons: his shows are beautiful works of art defined as much by what he doesn't choose to show as much as by what he does; his use of music is poignant, artful and powerful; and he's a strong feminist, creating female victims of a sexist and misogynistic culture and then freeing them in ways that can be brutal but are no less cathartic.

So it seems strange to write a review about his latest work and say that, while it no less beautiful or artful or well-framed, it's use of music is ear-screechingly bad and its portrayal of women's lives depressing. In fact, this is the most depressing Korean drama I've seen since Misty told us a woman can only have success if she destroys men - and she won't be happy anyway when she does it.

Which is not to say that there is anything wrong with the writing, acting or cinematography of this show. It is, in fact, a warm and often-visually beautiful representation of the ordinary life of a very ordinary noona and her very ordinary romance with her friend's dongsaeng. But it is in the show's realism that it fails.

Jin-ah (Son Ye-jin) is the most everywoman portrayed on TV: told her job is to compromise, to keep the peace, to slide through without conflict. Basically raised to be this way and then simultaneously judged for being this way. Forced to be a participant, essentially, in her own mistreatment. In the end, Jin-ah will only be happy, and the people around her will only be happy, if she stops trying to make everyone happy. She's such an everywoman that I don't know why the writers and the PD told the story at all - unless it's to completely depress us as to the current state of feminism.

For those who want a fluffy, happy romance this is the wrong show, even if there's a lot of that in the first half. Love it seems can survive in a bubble but can't survive the real world, even if the two people in the romance are not doing anything wrong.

In the end, this show gets a seven because it was a very good piece of television despite the depressing overall theme. The one true flaw was the OST, which was so awful it had me muting the soundtrack throughout. If you told me a few weeks ago that I'd be muting the soundtrack in a PD Ahn drama, I wouldn't have believed you. But here I am. And if I have to hear 'Stand By Your Man' one more time, it will be one time too many.

Sometimes it is hard to be a woman. But only if you are brought up to embrace noble martyrdom as a woman's main role. It is ironic perhaps that the people who will truly hate this show are the ones who love shows that promote woman's noble martyrdom as a virtue to be rewarded - like Mischievous Kiss. And while there is a lesson in that for women, it's not a particularly uplifting one.

This was a nice break from the usual korean drama i usually watch, highly recommended drama!

Historical drama to an extend happened in real life, people may think that, the writers are not creative thus they decide to use history. Well yes! The writers did that and it was done wonderfully! It was such a nice drama, seeing history unfolding right in front of your eyes! The romance between the princes and Rouxi was so nice, you can't decide which prince you want to ship Rouixi with.

The casts was perfect for each of the characters they played. You can't hate any of the characters even if they have done such an evil deep, you'll end up feeling sorry for them instead. The acting was great, you will find yourself, crying then laughing and crying again and the emotion is just like a roller-coaster ride. It was perfect!

An other perfect thing for this drama is that the music was beautiful, i even downloaded their theme song onto my ipod and i dont even understand chinese! That's saying some thing. It was beautiful, the melody and the music for each scene was perfect for it. Oh let me warn you, once you're done with this series and the theme song comes up. You'll feel like crying cause you miss this series so so much!

Overall i'm rating this drama a 10! Just because it's perfect and i watched this drama 4 days straight! Once i got up, i turn on my laptop and continue watching it.

Reasons to watch this drama:
- Strong female character
- Handsome and pretty actresses
- Awesome Plot
- Roller-coaster ride of emotions

If you like those this drama should make your day!

Melting Me Softly was such an awesome drama. I was completely rooting for Mi Ran and Dong Chan the whole way through. What was especially great about them was how simple they are, they haven't got that super complicated : "we can't be together, you can't like me and I can't like you so I'm going to push you away" thing that goes on in some dramas. This was a very nice change. They went after what they wanted the whole way through and, in my opinion, there is no better way. The plot too was really cool. I thoroughly enjoyed the idea of frozen humans and their unique journey as they came into the modern world. The ending was really good too, everything was tied up nicely and the main characters had the happy ending they deserved. I think Melting Me Softly has been severely underappreciated and underrated. It was great. Truly great. Don't let anyone's bad reviews stop you from watching. This goes for all of the dramas out there. One man's trash is another man's treasure after all. Enjoy watching!

It was exciting in the start but fizzes out towards the end.

This is not my first k- dating show (my fav is His Man 2 till date) and by far what I have seen it is all about glamourous people dating with a lot of physical appeal. Here it was different. A bunch of normal people who went exploring dating for the first time in their life. The concept of this show is very fresh and tried to encompass real emotions of people, for the concept it deserved 10/10.

The problem was how the show became Jeongmok saga. Bro carried the entire show on his back. It was about his love story from top to bottom. The other contestants contributed very less.

**Spoiler**

His love angle with Ji-yeon was very very random. They went from 0 interaction onscreen to 100 % commitment where they want to marry each other. It felt scripted to me. I mean for once i can accept Jeong mok having feelings for Ji yeon but how did she started feeling for him?! Until last episodes she was pinning for Jaeyun and how she liked quiet boys. I am okay even if it was a script but atleast it should make some sense. Either the editing of that loveline was bad or the production team had no solid content of their developing feelings that they legit flashbacked only one scene of them- JY got hurt --> JM did first aid... that too thousands of time. How can you expect me to buy this huh?

Jisu- SeungLi was interesting till it became bland. Bro had 0 interest in knowing her. Its a dating show so i cant expect real conversations but atleast have some talk beyond who was your first choice. "You can pour out your emotions to people and it can mean nothing to them." Had it been real life i would have rooted Jisu to find someone better. And the concept of the show was to date why did they not go to the overnight trip?! That was quite a waste. You say you like someone then obviously you would want to spend time with them alone but here it was opposite.

Rest of the people were quite forgettable. I didn't understand why Minhong and Yeonmeung were pinning over JM. Their screentime was just filled with them bitching about JM. Also I am quite angry with how they handle newbies. They removed their screentime completely to the extent no one knows who they liked. Amongst guys I liked Jaeyun storyline but it was limited.

**End of Spoiler**

All in all it was a bland show where you can skip ep 9 & 10 altogether. I hope they plan a bit better next time. The conversations between the cast were limited to who was their first choice. Please for once have some discussion beyond that the next time.

The people were kind and good no doubt but they have to speak and act for the show. It's shameful that the production planned 3 overnight stays and only 1 couple went.

Hello there, past addiction for the past few months! This drama is ridiculously good, and ridiculously bad at the same time. How can that be? As much as I love our main character, I can't even tell you how many times I was hell bent on throwing objects at her via computer screen. At the same time, she's lovable, quirky and extremely clueless, which is how most heroine's are. Did I mention she kicks ass, like literally? There's a love triangle and I honestly can't tell you who I was really rooting for, but all in all, I was content with the ending. There's annoying secondary characters (like all dramas) but they sort of turn out to be lovable. LOVED IT. Must watch, for serious.

**general spoilers if any because it's hard to talk about it without mentioning general ideas (no specific scenes/details but characters are mentioned)

omgg it's been awhile since I watched such a good drama. I just finished watching it and I already want to rewatch it. This literally blew me away with just everything and omgg the emotions are so high with this drama.

Plot: I really dislike watching dramas where its just the same cycles over and over again of the main leads breaking up and getting back together constantly (like for example, every other episode), so I was super happy with what the writers for this show did with this drama because we none of that (yay!). There was so much creativity into writing this and there are SOOO many good plot twists. The plot is far from boring and invokes so many emotions. There are both really funny parts and really sad parts ANND those REALLY CUTE romantic scenes that most everyone lives for. The plot brings together fantasy elements and romance elements with a hint of wuxia here and there. ALSO the ending was everything you would ever want esp since nowadays so many drama endings are the absolute worst. This drama does a good job of closing out all (or most but I couldn't tell if they missed any) of the plot holes and tying everything together.

Characters: I was really happy with the character development in this drama. The changes in each character are so subtle yet if you compare two eps far apart from each other, you can tell the difference in most of the important characters (e.g. JM). They did such a good job of revealing the backstories, intentions, etc. of characters as well in a way that would be either 1. wow I didn't see this coming or 2. i wanna cry. I LOVED the way that JM and XF fell in love and gradually realized what they meant to each other. Also, some people have mentioned in the comments that they don't really like the amount of screen-time that the demon princess gets, but personally I kinda liked the storyline between her and MC as well as their characters, but that might just be me :P The demon princess (LY) is kind of that loyal badass sidekick character with a soft side and sometimes you can't help but cheer her on. Also shoutout to Moon Immortal character cuz he just made me laugh every time even if he was being serious. Of course, each character has those times when they're being annoying (esp the villainous/evil characters) but overall none of them stood out as being terribly written and I can say that I was even happy with how the evil characters were.

Costumes: Might seem weird to mention this but I just really enjoyed seeing how each realm had their own distinct style and how each were shown so beautifully. Little things like hairstyle, accessories, makeup, clothing composition, etc really add to the drama in a good way. (Example: bird realm's clothing [Sui He] compared to flower realm's clothing [JM/ Chief Zhang])

Acting: I haven't watched that many dramas with YZ in it and I didn't expect too much going into it but wow her acting was so great and the way she portrayed various emotions was crazy. The way she could make you want to cry is insanely amazing and her chemistry with DL is really really good. DL's acting is also really good, as expected, and the way he portrays pain and heartbreak is incredible. Aside from those two, I don't really have any complaints with any of the other actors/actresses. They all did a great job :)

Music: warning- the music is so perfectly inserted that you wanna cry like every time there's a sad moment LOL. No complaints with the music---I think all of the selections fit the drama really well.

Animations/CGI/Production: As with every fantasy drama especially, a lot of animating and cgi needs to go into the production since the setting includes places like Heaven, Hell, and various other "realms". The realms were all animated so well, and while there are TOMPB vibes going on (esp. the flower realm and the heaven realm), it stands distinctly on its own beautifully. The colors are amazing and I love the clouds loll xD The cgi just gives it the right magical feeling. Another commenter mentioned this as well, but the dream beast that stayed by RY's side throughout the drama was animated so well. You could see all the details and the colors and everything was just so real.

My Favorite Part: mini spoiler but I absolutely loved the part when JM and XF went to the mortal realm and lived like mortals for their "redemption" trial. Free from their immortal responsibilities and burdens, their characters were just so pure and raw. It made me laugh, smile a ridiculous amount, and bawl. When dramas bring out every type of emotion there is, you know it's a good drama.

Overall: MUST WATCH ; this was on my "to watch" list for the whole summer, and I'm so glad that I decided to start now and it was so good that I binge-watched for 3 days and finished it. This is the kind of drama I've been waiting for since watching TMOPB. Definitely rewatching in the future 10/10 recommend. Sorry for the excessive length of this review & if I repeated myself multiple times :P

Meh guys it's meh

hmmm imo this is meh but nice try. Love the ost but that's it.
Overall Acting 5/10, they are new so it's understandable, the 2 main leads are better tho.
Story 5/10, soap-opera-like, weird conflict, badly written, see it yourself and you'll understand.
Videography 5/10, editing is not good esp the sunset's sky ㅠㅠ inconsistent tone, and weird + boring camera angle for many parts.
Their feelings feels rushed and forced, no development whatsoever, immediately jumps to i love you, how epic :")

I'm still learning english ! I know it sucks ! please bear with me ;-)

Hey guys, a friend of mine recommended the korean movie Concubine of King and I thought i give it a shot. The movie contains a lot of sex scenes and what you get to see is comparable to any softporn. So I wasn’t sure if this movie is really good. Usually movies which contain erotic of this level are low budget productions and I thought this is another one. I was mistaken (again). The movie is high-class and is anything but trashy which amazed me. But there is one thing which confuses me I thought established actresses with a good carrier wouldn’t play such a role. I mean you get to see Jo Yeo Jung stark naked (which isn’t bad - she is beautiful). But then I found out that she starred in similar roles before (including being naked - “The Servant”)

“The film proved her fine taste in roles when, despite the hype, it was well-made and critically praised. Jo says that most of all, she wants to be seen as an adventurous and intriguing actress.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jo_Yeo-jeong

Now I want to write something about the story. It’s basically about a king who has no say. The King is in love with the queen who was married to his brother (who was poisoned) But the queen is in love with someone else. A love triangle comes into being. The story is anything but innovative. I’m certain there are at least 20 movies with a similar story line. Just the end of the movie confuses me (the last scene). I’m sure everyone who watched this movie knows what I mean.
