Interested to watch this from YT clip. Turned out quite funny, but not as funny as I thought it will be. And you can say quite meaningful.

Teenage years the rebelion phase. Very funny how the mother get 'revenge' by her own 'rebelion way'. Given her daughter lesson while still show the mother love is just something mother do... And the bento is really pretty to looked at & learn to...

Unfortunately the new story that come later kinda ruin the whole story for me. The story about father & son, it's like they abruptly just stop the storyline. Or the later story about the daughter find job in the different city, is kinda unmatched with the whole storyline.

But overall this one good story to watch. Maybe better if they became drama, so some story can unravel more...

I always find movies depicting male friendships particularly interesting. I can tell from the many Japanese movies I've watched, that failure is a prevalent theme that resurfaces, and this movie does a perfect job at depicting that looming unknown and possible failure awaiting these young people. For these 7 boys, the uncertainty of their future caused them to implode their present, and slowly descend into chaos in their final year of high school. I can't wait to rewatch this film and see all the new layers I can peel off.

The cinematography was simply perfect for the vibe and the soundtrack couldn't have been more perfect to represent teen angst. Also really loved the use of slowmo, sometimes in films I can feel sorta desperate to speed up a slowmo that lasts too long but they really knew when to utilize it throughout and it really emphasized certain scenes. Will definitely be that kind of movie that I can't stop thinking about for weeks.

Definitely worth a try!

I personally have watched both parts of the movies 4 or 5 times already.
I am not exactly sure why the story continues to draw me in. Every time I see a clip pop up somewhere I wish to rewatch it.
So to speak
I truly love the movies although their communication struggle has me on edge constantly. Since the point of view is mainly the one of the main character one gets to understand him easily. I like the way his insecurities are displayed as one can truly feel how he wishes someone would love him the way he is (which our second main character does) and not only based on his good looks.
Considering that the movies are a bit older now their acting might appear a little lacking but whilst subtle in some parts they do display the emotions well.

I would say it is quite a calm and sweet love story not very intense or sexual but dramatic enough to give it a try.
I promise it is worth it

A lot of potential, over the top execution, full of cliches...

This film had every potential to be interesting and suspenseful one mainly due to its main concept idea. Unfortunately it failed to engage me due to its over the top production and the countless cliches that we have already watch them multiple times in other disaster movies.

Spoilers below.

The idea of a biological terror attack during a flight has not been that much used ( the only other movie that had a similar concept was 12 Monkeys).
But unfortunately the director gave more attention to the "poor_passengers _who_ were infected_ and _are _in_ danger_ because_ the_ plane_ is_ not_ allowed_ to_ land _anywhere_ and_ the_ only_ one_ who_ can_ land_ it_ has _psychological_ problems", instead of focusing mainly on the ground operations, f.e how and why the company got the virus, how the terrorist ended up to be so revengeful, to emphasize in other words what was going on on the ground before and after the attack, instead of what was going on in the air that was the simplest and most boring concept of all as it was expected.. In other words to make the movie a bio hazard political thriller with social parameters instead of just a disaster one.

The cast and the acting was really good, the music was in some scenes over the top and loud and the production was great as always, but went in vain because it is not interesting to watch that all the passengers got eventually infected by a virus. The twist would have been to not get infected after all!

Anyway.. 6 out of 10 from me for the very good production.
The plot was one of the same.. Air flight disaster adventure vol. 9.387.938.775!
Same old stuff, same old story.

Win a Date with Moon Shi Woo

The moment I saw this movie, I was waiting for it to cringe the heck out me like the other Filipino-Korean collaboration movie I saw a few years back. But this, this was alright. The casting was great, I'm even becoming a fan of Kim Gun Woo, whom I have last seen from Fight For My Way and Chase the Ghost. This is the ony movie which I'm impressed with Bella Padilla since a lot of her movies I have seen are quite depressing. And I was truly suprised to see familiar faces in this movie so it was a good choice of cast.

The story, it was truly exciting and romantic in the process. The character Bella played was kind of bland, but she was very positive about things and thats great. The boy Gun Woo played was adorable (spoiler alert: he speaks tagalog in a way my sister likes to say, cringeworthy. But to me was so adorable most especially the part where he says 'ayoko' meaning he doesn't want to do it) Yet I'm also confused about his nationality, wondering if he's half or pure based on his sister's. I also don't understand why she would be mad for not saying about his nationality, but her description says that she hates Filipino men because she has trust issue of some sort. But overall, it was a nice, safe and cozy rom-com in the winter wonderland of Pyeongchang, South Korea.

The ending felt kind of flat to me, but it was a good wrap.

There are some scenes where they spoke in fluent hangul, I couldn't understand anything except for the liitle things I picked up from watching korean dramas. I wish they added english subtitles for that.

The english choice of songs were great, but the korean ones were kind of hard to listen to.

And as I said in the title, it's like the story process of Win a Date with Tad Hamilton. Fell for a celebrity in a dating reality show, but actually falls in love wih someone else. But, with some twists adding some originality in the process.

Unexpectedly Poignant

If you read the synopsis, it seems like this would be about a man sexually abusing a disabled person, but it isn't that story at all. The film is full of symbolism from the very first frame, and, while a bit dark, I liked how it ended. The last 40 minutes were quite satisfying. You do have to get through the first half though.

The film starts out a bit slow but if you pay attention to all the details, it will reward the astute viewer later. Be warned there is some violence in this one, and a lot of suggestive scenes though nothing overtly pornographic, in my opinion.

More enjoyable than the series

I placed spoilers at the end of this review.

The movie/series: This had some great story concepts. The script was good and tried to address some important topics. The acting from most of the cast was good considering this was their first series. There are some issues with the audio/sound quality.

The movie: Overall, they did a good job editing this into a movie and was able to weed out some of the unneeded storylines from the series. However, there were a few scenes that were deleted that I wished they kept. See spoiler alert at the end of this review if you want more information. This is a good example on the importance of editing. The series suffered from some poor editing choices that made some of the episodes a little confusing. There were also some scenes in the series that did not make sense. They were able to fix a lot of these problems for the movie version. They were also able to cut out scenes involving few of the supporting cast members over the top/bad acting. As for me, all of the changes increased the quality and enjoyability level of the movie.

Random Notes:

I recommend watching the movie version first instead of the series version. If you’re in my region (US) it should be on MFlow Entertainment YouTube channel.

Was the “movie” that Plengrak and Duean Yi watched in episode 3 of Coffey Melody an Easter egg indicating this was going to be made into a move?

The opening and closing credit still say Second Chance the Series. This could have been an easy fix, but maybe they were just lazy or did not care.

******Spoiler Alert******
I wish they kept some of the scenes involving Near being bullied to give more context on the character and the reasoning behind his actions.

Why did they keep the scene with Sky and Paper under water at the end? By cutting the first scene from the series, this scene doesn’t make sense anymore.

Hirokazu Kore-eda never disappoints

God, Hirokazu Kore-eda is seriously one of the masters of modern cinema. His movies are as simple as they are brilliant. He knows how to find beauty in the smallest things, and his films always leave me with a warm feeling, even if they're usually sad and/or melancholic. The characters and societies he portrays in his work always feel so real and genuine. It also helps that he knows how to pick one great cast, as clearly shown here. In fact, this particular cast is so f**king good that I can't even pick an MVP, they really are that good. There's not a single line or facial gesture that doesn't feel natural and real. I had been looking forward to Broker for so long, and it actually ended up being even better than I expected. This is certainly one good way to start the year.

wish they would have made 3 separate movies for each of the 3 couples

This is a movie version (110 minutes runtime) of the original 6 episode series (220 minutes runtime https://kisskh.at/680869-second-chance). There aren't any new scenes only half is cut out. I wish they would have made 3 separate movies, each one focused on a couple because this movie did not solve my two main issues.

1. With three couples and not a long runtime, each of the couples' relationships feels rushed and it can feel choppy overall jumping back and forth between them

2. Two of the characters look very similar (they are brothers in real life, they aren't related in the series - one is a barista and the other learns muay thai). The characters don't appear in the same scene until the very end and it was really confusing (I thought 1 character had 3 love interests and actually screamed in the last episode when I realized they were different characters).

By separating the story lines out, I think these two issues would not have been a problem or as much of a problem. They could put some transition scenes (a city skyline with time lapse) to show that time has passed before the next scene is shown.

Content warnings: bullying/beaten up, homophobia

heart touching

I saw this movie on the plane so I'm not entirely sure where it's available with eng subs, The story isn't anything new or original but it's an important film is what I would say. While so many of us are fed up with life there are so many people who want to live but cannot I find the varyings of our lives very different. In the beginning, the lead character is stopped from suicide by a woman and is taken to the hospice where she's told she can learn to die there. Of course, after meeting the people there and seeing their stories she's learned how precious it is to be able to live. You can say she was lucky she met that woman not everyone who's living a hard life is given a life-altering look into why living is worth it.
the side characters' stories all will have a special part in my heart simple, very simple call it a cliche but it is heart-touching.
i'll definitely recommend this movie if you have free time, it got me trying to hold back my tears in the middle of an airplane.

Yejibros we love this erotic thriller

Yejibros we love the romance between the main characters. The romance between the protagonists is very believable and also the portrayal is not too bad. We think that this is one of the best romance movie in Korea too. Everything is well done and the story just connects and does not leave any plot holes for everyone. We also think that the actors and actresses are good in their portrayal of the period. We are quite surprised that it is a period drama. This is why we love it yejibros since there is thrilling and romance between the characters.

Too long so it can have so many clichés

It ended. It was nice to watch.
STORY - nothing much to point out. Dreams and reality holding hands. The stories of every couple were a little long and boring...

ACTING - it was good. All the main leads were competent.

MUSIC - i do not really like this kind of music. So, for me, nothing will remain.

REWATCH - i will not rewatch it again. There is not a scene that caught my eye or that i want to revisit.

OVERALL - simple, light but too long. In the end, after so many hours of screening, we do not know the end of some couples.

One of the best movies ever

Parasite lives in the extremes of cinematography, its palettes are not colourful with multicolour but rather paint the most real of pictures of what South Korean societies are like. It is an ode to Director Bong's incredible work that Parasite feels so real and raw.

Parasite questions social inequality in the most of crude of forms, through micro-aggressions, violence, abuse, discrimination and isolation. Every moment of the movie feels like a punch to the gut and it answers and questions notions that is not only limited to South Korea but even beyond the realms. Parasite's imagery, its acting, its message, its want to tell a story will live on like a legend. Decades later the story will live on to still question and rebel.

Don’t let the “filmed on the phone” fool you into thinking it’s a cheap low budget short horror. They obviously had the money to make it look stunning. The writing and the story might be simple, but perfectly executed - exactly how horror movies should be.

Those That Follow tells a simple story of regret, guilt and fear - the past can literally haunt you. We are introduced to two characters that start with the same baggage, but as the plot progresses, take different paths to deal with it and face the consequences of their actions.

Realistically speaking, the strongest point of the movie were the visuals - it’s simply beautiful. Being an ad for a phone, they took all the steps to make sure the final product can wow any possible customers. Surprisingly, the fact it is an ad made the movie better, since it pushed the director to use a variety of different shots to show he all the capabilities of the camera.

Acting was good. It did feel like some reactions were exaggerated, but nothing that would distract you from what was happening on screen.

Overall, truly a great short horror movie. Simple, but effective.

I tend to give these short films/movies on Gagaoolala a shot and I am glad I did.

I will try to explain without giving any spoilers but it's very difficult to do when the movie is under an hour because of the amount of significance one may take from certain scenes to explain the overall storyline.

Reading the synopsis is necessary to have some kind of understanding of who is who and where the story is currently set in time.

The black-and-white visual language was truly amazing. I am not a big fan of black-and-white films so the fact that I was engrossed the entire time says a lot.

The story is between two friends, who help one another in a time of need. Although it does not seem like it at the start since Tod is letting Hao stay with him. However, as the film progresses you see more of their dynamic and how they are as individual characters, and how they are together as they begin to live with one another.

Hao is definitely more of a rebellious character and a free bird. One that does not care about the consequences and lives in the moment. He may seem as carefree but tries his best to be a guide in Tod’s life.

Tod, on the other hand, takes a more reserved role. He seems to be content with how his life is, without really questioning anything. He has dreams but does not actively pursue them besides painting.

With Hao introduced, Hao begins to push and question Tod’s dreams in a manner that demonstrates Tod’s personality on a somewhat “deeper level”. Hao asks simple questions as to Tod’s art, what his art means, where he wants to go, why, and by when he wants to achieve all of this. Tod also reciprocates which allows the audience to understand Hao better. These two complement one another despite their opposite personalities. Although, I wished they would have dived more into their background besides giving crumps and leaving the rest for interpretation.

Additionally, it felt like the director wanted to create a more “romantic” feel between Hao and Tod by providing an intimate sex scene between them. However, the scene was not necessary and it felt forced. Yes, you can tell that the characters care for one another and love each other but love does not necessarily have to be expressed in a romantic way. Besides, after that one night spent together, Tod and Hao proceed to go back to a friendly relationship without discussing what had happened the night before, which may leave the audience in wonder at their relationship.

In the end, Hao served more as a character that loves Tod (whether as a friend or romantically is debatable) and helped him express his desire to leave and helped him achieve that. Based on their interactions, Hao helped Tod achieve his dream and Tod helped Hao by being there for him when he had nowhere to go. The last few minutes of the film were my favorite because it gives the audience a glimpse of what each of them saw in a short montage of their past/present, showing how they each shined in their own way.

As I wrote this, I had originally rated it a 7 but now a 7.5. It is not an 8 for me because it felt

1. Too short

2. The characters were given a short backstory which was not fully developed to understand them in a deeper manner

3. The sex scene felt rather rushed and thrown in there to make it a “gay film”, which in my opinion was not necessary because even if it was a movie on friendship it would have been amazing and portrayed the character’s love for one another.
4. I wanted them to express or communicate the relationship they had cause I had so much interpretation, which is not bad but sometimes I just want things to be clear for my small brain to understand.
