what an emotional roller coaster

this movie is slow-spaced and yet not a boring moment. usually watching anything i tend to like or root for some character's and dislike others, when its a couple more so. u see and like one's actions/personality and tend to see the faults in the other's making u dislike them all the more. here weirdly i didn't root for one or the other - it was made very humane, that even the flaws were understandable and invoked sympathy by the end ...

the most ironic part for me was the use of black and white and the ignition of color and the symbolism behind its meaning - cause of how immersed i was in Po Wing and Yiu Fai's relationship it took me a while before i noticed the lack of color - this was that good (and that's saying something considering the version i saw, subs were all over the place and some of the time i was guessing at what was going on and what some scenes meant ) yet i was captivated from start to finish.

harder to like or "get" Po Wing i was confused by his motivation, why the push and pull - why drive the person u love bonkers by pulling them in and then pushing them away brutally, driving them crazy only to come back to repeat the scenario all over again. it was as if he was unraveling and at times trying to drag Yiu Fai down with him -

Yiu Fai was a much more stable character, even when he was alone he had an objective going back home and he would work himself to the bone to achieve that goal - he knew Po Wing was bad for him but he couldn't help himself (i guess that when the heart is involved u lead with it, instead of ur head) more so here in this toxic relationship. and yet no matter how hard he tried he could never really push Po Wing away or keep him - when Po Wing wanted out - so i personally was glad that when he took Po Wing back for the last time he kept him at arms length - no matter how much he cared for him literally he didn't sleep with him - which sadly didn't mean he wasn't as lost when Po Wing had enough and bailed - but he found it in himself to finally give up and take on more jobs to go back home..

Chang Wan i feel like was a much needed "breathing space" (ironic to call a person that) but even though he wasn't gay his coming into Yiu Fai life, another fellow that was all alone in a foreign country - they bonded cause the spoke the same language and were strangers in that land - and suddenly Yiu Fai didn't only have Po Wing. he didn't lean in Chang Wan - they were good friends at most. but the fact that he had this normal comparison, i feel like it helped him understand that he needed to stop going back / taking back Po Wing time and again and put his all into going back home and fixing his own life. that he couldn't subconsciously wait around for someone who would never really stick by him.

doesn't mean i didn't feel bad for Po Wing who came back as per his MO only to find that this time Yiu Fai wasn't sitting around waiting there for him, happy to pick up the pieces and give him a safe haven where he could rest, feeling loved and getting taken care of, for however long he needed, until he had enough - that's why the ending kinda blindsided me as i wanted to know what happens to all involved, Yiu Fai goes back but he visits Chang Wan's family's shop - Chang Wan at the other end of the world has had enough of traveling thinking of Fai wants to go back home - and then there is sad broken Po Wing who is left all alone in Argentina - so this time this open ended was a major bummer as i needed more ... for sure a rewatch

in-spite of the subject, this wasn't as dark as i though it was gonna be - but its left me confused. cause as cut and dry the description is, its right and yet not...
Tatsuru has been a hustler longer then Shinichiro, but anyone in that profession can't have a soft heart - just to deal on the daily with "clients" and their "demands" one has to deaden ones feeling to do the "job" or one wouldn't last. so doubt Tatsuru (a 20 yr old - mind u) wasn't that disconnected from his emotions or even jaded - he just had enough time to work on the indifferent mask he wore - which little by little got chipped away until the end of the movie.

Shinichiro on the other hand wasn't explain any better - yeah he was infatuated with Tatsuru, but that wasn't what made him dislike his "job" - btw being a sex-worker aint a piece of cake, the f*ckers that pay for this service treat the workers as less then human (and u don't have to have first hand experience to get this sad fact)- they r demeaned, degraded and treated like reusable trash. even the most experienced person, with a strong sense of self would break-down given what they have to sufferer on the daily. so Shinichiro not liking or enjoying his chosen profession isn't shocking. his infatuation has little to nothing to do with his not wanting to sleep with every client unless he likes them - as he put it.
but his character isn't easy to understand - i didn't get why he was so belligerent, he might have been angry at his parents for no accepting him being gay - so he lashed out the only way he could throwing his new-profession in their faces and getting kicked out of the house (which considering his personality and actions throughout this movie, he already had one leg out of that house as is). it almost seemed like he was looking for a fight with the world and always pushing people away - even when Tatsuru (after hearing from Shinichiro bff that he loved him) tried to "pull him closer" Shinichiro physically pushed him away denying his feelings and took his stuff and left, rather live on the streets. so i didn't get from what he was running away or why.

the break-down at the end was inevitable, but what followed was confusing - like a "so what now" moment. after them making out at a clients request and Tatsuru coming undone - would think they would at least lean on each other and find an out of this way of life (that seemed they chose not out of desperation - but again i didn't get / understand much of their backstories and why they chose this line of work - considering they had parents that supported them idk) maybe seeing this more times will give me more clues into these two or maybe the subbed were at fault - so left confused ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Envigorating!

If you're looking for a good fight and lots of blood, you're in the right place! I am a huge fan of this series and as the name suggests...this is the beginning. This is how our hero came to his "No Kill" rule. The fight scenes and throat slits had me pumped the whole movie. The romance and 'genuine' love had me in my feels and I loved every minute of it. Tomoe's actress is so beautiful and of course she goes perfectly with Himura (for now) lol Obviously, I'd actually suggest starting with this movie before the rest, but either way you won't be lost. I'd definitely recommend to samurai related theme junkie
Enjoy...

This movie was short on plot but long on action, not a bad combo for a kung fu movie that runs a little over an hour.

The basic plot is the evil eunuch desires a magic red pill created to heal the emperor and grant him immortality. In the process of stealing it and securing his position he secretly pits the Wu Dang clan against the Lunar clan. The white-haired witch belongs to one clan and the impetuous fighter who falls for her in the other. A few misunderstandings and an astonishingly high body count later and you've got the gist of the story.

The acting was fine for what was required of the actors. Most weren't on screen long enough to form any real bond or hatred of. The actual running time was probably closer to an hour, making it shorter than some drama episodes which means there was a dearth of character development. At one point I wasn't really sure who belonged to which clan because there hadn't been enough of an introduction for me to identify the characters in even the most vague way. Not to give too much away, but by the time I figured out who belonged to which team it was pretty much irrelevant anyway.

The CGI was good for a film that felt low budget and the fights were entertaining. I'm always happy to see a strong female protagonist who can wield a sword and long, lethal hair. There were some creative fight elements and magical weapons and abilities which kept the fights interesting.

I wouldn't put this movie high on a kung fu watchlist but it was an entertaining hour of CGI fights, betrayals, and a little romance thrown in for good measure.

Even better than the series

For that whole year of waiting I was kinda anxious as to whether the new season/movie can actually top all the greatness that Season 1 delivered. And after seeing the movie last night, I am confident to say that it did, it topped it surpassed and went beyond all the kilig, the drama, and all that. The first few minutes were very reminiscent of season 1 and will remind you why you loved the series in the first place, the rest allowed us to see the development in the characters and their relationships. We all know that the main characters can really engage, but i also enjoyed seeing the secondary characters especially if you are like me who loved all that took place in Alt Gameboys 13.5 truly, I'll be a fan of this masterpiece forever. Expect great things ahead for season 2.

didn't enjoy this as much as i did the drama - getting that off my chest this was cute, with bits of funny, fluffiness taking us back to the 1st season (and this is only taking into considering everything happening before the Aunt from hell came to visit), and then they added Terrence into the mix, and i was like WTF (he was a detestable character in the 1st season and he didn't fair any better in the side-story: Alt.Gameboy). so brining in Wesley was adding insult to injury - plus who the frack gave two f*cks about these two, and their "budding romance"?!? not me that's for sure. and having (cutie-pie) Achilles sober up to the fact that he doesn't need Terrence in his life - blocking him, was supposed to absolve that annoying side romance? like plz.. i for sure wouldn't have been able to be as levelheaded, as he was when he finally confronted the f*cker - that was big of him - as Terrence deserved worse then what he got (and not even gonna go into gorilla boy trying to defend his mate - when he had no clue why Achilles when off the sec he noticed Terrence - so freakin glad Pearl was around the second time, to pull him away cause dude needed a reality-check ugh!!!).

the Aunt as infuriating and condescending adding much needed fuel to this "story" which wasn't amounting to much - other then Gavreel running after Cairo, who was playing hard to get - same old same old ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ so adding some much needed drama, added some interest to this trope plot. donno how they gonna develop it considering the end - but i guess they now have another reason to communicate via web-apps... so throw-back to the 1st season(?) that's a lead into the 2nd(?!?) left to be seen - but the confrontation between both lovers and the Aunt was Very satisfying - even if her last shot kinda shut them both up and threw a spanner into their well laid plans.

what Must applaud - for yrs have been reading manga's/webtoons - seen numerous movies and drama's that were all BL's themed and this was the first(!) time where the couple flipped and i literally cheered - yeah it was hot - smokin and after all the wooing Gav was doing, let alone their emanant parting it was fitting. but the fact that they showed that there aint No set rules(!) that there aint no predesigned roles - there aint no uke, seme = top or bottom, but just love and affection and what felt right - this movie was just worthy viewing, for that scene... so thank you

Should I Must Watch It Before "Legend Of Fei"!?

At First I Wanted To Clarify That;I Haven't Read The Novel!
So I Can't Tell About The Specific Content Which Is Written On The Novel.....

So It's My Personal Review On The Basis Of This Movie & So-Called It's Sequel Drama,Named:- "Legend Of Fei"

At First Wanna Say That,If You Allready Watched This Movie Before The Drama Then You Must Go For The So-Called Sequel Part Of It!

Or If Not!
Then I'll Suggest That,Please Don't Go For It..........
It Blows My Head Off After Watching It. Am So Confused Now That I'm Thinking About Re-Watching The Drama Again!

So,Now The Question Is:-

"Why You Shouldn't Watch This Movie If You Allready Watched The Drama !?"

Ans.
It Has No Link At All With The Part Of Li Jin Rong In "Legend Of Fei"!
If I Remember It Correctly;Then:-

1. According To "Legend Of Fei", Li Jin Rong Left The "48 Mountain Stronghold"Riding On Horse.
While In This Movie She's Gonna Take A Mountain Cave Route Behind The Back Of "48 Mountain Stronghold".

2. In "Legend Of Fei", There Was No Interruption By Shen Tian Shu Or Other Evil Leaders On Li Jin Rong's Journey To Seek For Help To Save The "48 Mountain Stronghold".
But In This Movie,Shen Tian Shu & An Another New Guy Gonna Attack Them In The Mountain Cave Path.

3. In "Legend Of Fei", Shen Tian Shu Cut Off His Half Left Arm Himself.
But In This Movie, It Shows Us That:-
Li Jin Rong Cut Off Shen Tian Shu's Right Wrist In A Battle!
This Is Indeed A Completely Misleading Matter...........

& So Many Illogical Misleading Matters Are Available Between This Prequel-Sequel.

Now The Next Question:-

"So Why Must I Watch The Drama! Why Can't I Choose The Movie & Skip The Drama!?"

Ans.
You Can Indeed Choose The Movie & Skip The Drama.
But If You're Thinking About It,Then You'll Know About A Short Part Of The Story! & You'll Completely Unaware Of The Main Story............

But If You Choose The Drama & Skip The Movie; You Can Indeed Learn About The Whole Plot Completely.......
& You May Think That:- You're Gonna Miss Li Jin Rong's Struggle,How To Became The Leader Of "48 Mountain Stronghold" After Her Father's Death!
Then Let Me Tell You That:-
If You Pick The Drama Then You Can Also Know About The Struggle Of Li Jin Rong's......
There's No Need To Watch A Whole Movie To Understand This Matter!
In That Case You Too Will Be Confused After Watching It.

Now It's Completely Your Own Personal Choice Whether To Watch It Or Not!

Thank You Very Much If You Find It Useful.

Watch It

●With the very first opening scene a student is standing on the Cliff of the school building. Other students gather around at the Crime scene talking that she was bullied. (Lee Chung Mi) as Hana hears this. her Parents fight everyday and has sleeping issues, she is approached by some senior girls and get Bullies badly. she is then appriached homeroom teacher tries to help him.

●The story is nothing new but dealt in very delicate way.as the Title suggest compassion, this movie teaches compassion. hana is troubled because she have problematic parents, few friends with perfect image of top student and that's why she becomes a perfect target of bullies, because she can't tell anyone. she is afraid of her image being ruined.
Even the teachers are unable to help, which is the most unsatisfactory part of the movie.

●the climax though gives a chilling with a compassionate feel, the end was not clear. we all want to see the bullies being punished not just get away because they are minors or something shit like that.

●Jung Min Sung as Homeroom teacher Kim Sang Tae is the next door teacher who is afraid to lose anymore students so he keeps close eyes on his students who are vulnerable. he just blended in the character.
●A good movie with great lesson

The only value of this movie is discovering Kentaro Sakaguchi

Don't get me wrong. I like both Kento and Mirei a lot from a previous drama they were in, but the story and writing of this movie was just a huge let-down. I would prefer the movie ended with the montage of Kentaro and Mirei's relationship. Like the story beyond that is just ridiculous and downright foul. The humor and laugh factor is there for this (I mean with Kentaro Sakaguchi charming all of us in every scene he's in omg), and I think the actors really tried to carry the weight of the movie given the awful writing. Otherwise, this movie was awful.

I've no idea what was going on

I liked a lot of shots the cinematography was pretty decent and it wasn't completely awful cause I watched it without skipping any part but I was waiting for something the entire time and when the story took off it wasn't to my liking so It went completely downhill for me I liked the idea of the film and it's concept but the execution was idk what it was I would say a bit bizzare suddenly everyone started telling their story and it didn't make sense at all like any of it the brother the sick people every thing was weird but I liked it not completely but half of it atleast. Thanks for reading my review this far I hope you're doing great just hit me up if things are not going your way I'm always their for everyone who's struggling and trying their best to make it in this world.

know this was made in 1998 and most of the actor's were newbies (which shows) donno about the director / producer - but this was lacking. the Narrator was needed cause without her "hand-holding" = telling us what was going on, we would be clueless. usually in good movies the acting is enough to convey the plot (sometimes even without words) so donno whom to blame, as this turns not only boring, but unbelievable. calling this a love story is a reach, i didn't get anything but attraction from Jet - heck the dude was more interested in his own image in any reflective surface, then in Sam. same goes for Sam - he wasn't a narcissist but he wasn't in-love either, or the plot wasn't thought out. cause from them meeting (Sam suddenly bumping into Jet - nothing to do with that add) to suddenly jumping to Jet becoming part of the family, sitting in on every meal - was weird. and the woman on the poster is very misleading, she nothing but a minor character. that was Ah Chin "place" - heck even KS would be logical, as there is No fiancée / gf - they both a "beard" for each other...

Sam for sure not a good-guy, the dude pimped out his then bf Ah Chin (who was a freakin clerk) but cause Sam/Fai was funding his lover (the one he was cheating with) on the side, KS (who was a freakin man-whore, ironic saying that here) and as clerk's neither he nor his bf earned enough to sponsor the rising star, K.S - so Ah Chin goes and sells himself and that not enough so Sam does the same - and then (cause he has enough? idk) he bails not even a goodbye, leaving Ah Chin heart-broken and living a pretty bleak life.
most of this movie Sam treats Jet like his new buddy (even though the dude is gay and not even confused about it, considering Kana), while Jet keeps hustling at night and supposedly acting love sick in the day idk - until the 3 finally meet. as Ah Chin talks about his fated-ex Fai and Jet refers to his new infatuation as Sam, so when the 3 come face to face - and the roommates "get" they talking about the same guy. Sam bails (which it typical of him) only to have Jet follow (and considering everything he gets up too, i get why he is fast to forgive and understand), finally confessing to their sexual attraction - the combustion takes place in Sam's house and of course someone walks in and then quietly leaves.

frantic Sam keeps his cool, trying to understand which of his parent knows - and when he sees his fathers quite destress he goes into his room and dots a line to Jet ?!? i guess that someone kind of explanation or "goodbye" note, but found it lacking considering the magnitude of his choice - felt really bad for his parents. i get that in that day and age, how hard being gay was.. but considering everything it just fell flat - even Jet reading the letter was like a meeh moment - cause i didn't get the undying love, yearning that existed between Jet and Sam. Ah Chin was more infatuated with Fai, heck KS was more into Sam then Jet was. so maybe this should be "forgiven" for its imperfections, cause of the time it was made - but seen short movies with less budget but better acting, that conveyed more - idk, not my cup of tea ....

The End of A Masterpiece Live Action Series

So, it's finally the end of a masterpiece live action series and what a fitting ending it is, going back to how it all started.

This movie is totally different from the previous ones in the sense that here, there are no fancy flowing moves, just pure killing. You won't see those fancy hiten mitsurugi Ryu moves like amakakeru cause' Kenshin just kills as fast as he can, as brutal as he can. No feelings, no sympathy, no second thoughts.

It's also about how a woman who's lost her fiancee to a brutal killer, ended up falling for the killer. Will they actually have a happy ending? If you have followed the manga, you will know the story.

Granted, there's no way they could have cramped every single bit of details in the Manga into a live action. It's just impossible and can never be done.lets be realistic.

Everything about rrk, every single movie, has been fantastic. This one is no exception. In terms of storyline, this is the best of them all. I've always felt remembrance was the best arc in rurouni kenshin. Kasumi as tomoe is really fitting, especially with the ice cold demeanor.

Issei being Issei will always have the necessary screen presence. Of course, takeru is literally the embodiment of Kenshin. I just can't think of any other actor In this role.

You will never find a better live action movie from a Japanese manga. I don't think this series of film can be surpassed. I'll rate this as number 1, with I want to eat your pancreas being 2nd.

I won't say anything else. watch it for yourself. There's a reason why both rrk movies are in the top 10 highest grossing movie in Japan this year. Lastly, damn kasumi is gorgeous here.

This does not disappoint.

I thought it was great. I liked the character development and interactions with each other. There was equal parts drama and pure fun. And the drama felt real, not silly like many of the BL shows. The crying scenes were so good with Cai and Gav, and of course the sex scene. I liked the Hello, Stranger movie, but it had most of the typical tropes and predictable ending. This movie did not. The drama felt natural and they actually talked about things and made rationale decisions. Nothing about it felt forced or cheesy. The secondary couple were great too. The ending was sad but cute. And knowing there will be a second season made me happy.

Truly Beautiful and I need more of this couple!

This movie has made me once again love Philippines BL. Cause I stopped watching it and this movie is going to make me SLOWLY start to trust Philippines BL again (gonna be selective as h#ll, but still gonna try to watch them again).

Story-10/10
I am giving it a ten. Cause eventhough there is a character there that I believe should kick rocks, it still told us a story that was real and beautiful. It dealt with issues that I actually was not expecting and it was handled well.

Acting/Cast-10/10
Everyone was so perfect as thier characters (even the one that I believe should kick rocks, cause that character made me develop such a hatred towards them).

Music-10/10
The music fit the mood and was so beautiful and emotional and so heartbreaking.

Rewatch Valu-10/10
I am giving this a 10 cause yes, I would pay money AGAIN to watch this movie and cry like an idiot again.

Overall-10/10
I enjoyed this movie so much that as of right now, it has pivoted ro the top two BL's that I have watched so far in 2021. I would wholeheartedly recommend this movie to anyone, especially to someone who misses the characters of Gavreel and Cario.

A Film that Allows the Audience to Experience the 5 Stages of Grief

This movie was gripping, terrifying, emotional, heartbreaking and so empowering. Each main character had their own back story that allowed the audience to understand and connect to each person both emotionally and physically. The cinematography and actors immediately drew in the audience and made us sit on the edge of our seats. Each piece of dialogue was exact, to the point, meaningful and important to this movie. As the characters struggled theough hardships and obstacles, we struggled with them, afraid of the outcome, afraid for their lives. Each moment we wished we could help, to enter the screen and do something, anything, but as the audience we were trapped, unable to do anything. While watching this film, I knew disaster would strike from all corners, I knew some people weren't going to make it out alive, that families would be left heartbroken and in mourning, and the city would never be the same again. One person's wrong decision and lack of communication lead to the loss of lives of thousands of people. The gripping tales of the lives of three of our main characters; The Captain, Zheng Zhi and Xu Xiaobin, were cut short and the audience was left grieving and in shock. A movie that you kept hoping for a happy ending, even though it was almost inevitable from the very start. The audience experienced every single emotion from anger, sadness, grief, hatred, pain and relief.

This film was so beautifully made, that it was heartwrenching and cut straight to the core of humanity. It touched every one of my heartstrings and I won't be able to forget how this film affected me. A tale of bravery, courage, strength and pain, told through multiple characters. A film that hurts you even more as you realise it's based on true events.
