The Puzzle Isn't Complete

Go Brother! follows the story of Shi Miao and her "annoying" older brother, Shi Fen. At her birthday party, Shi Miao makes a wish for her brother to disappear from her and unfortunately, the universe granted her wish and make Shi Fen become the older brother of Miao Miao, Shi Miao's friend instead.

It has the kind of good comedic style that I really enjoy. Everything feels fun right from the very first minute. The chemistry between Zhang Zifeng (as Shi Miao) and Peng Yuchang (as Shi Fen) as siblings is really great and becomes the highlight of the movie. Zhao Jinmai as Miao Miao is cute too. The story is also quite good. It's has balance of the comedy and heartwarming moment.

Overall, it's a nice watch for killing time.

NPC drama.

I watched this drama long time ago and it was generic twin drama one ML as dual character. For the acting, the difference between calm and gentle ML and scumbag SML were showing .Also the obvious age gap between Zhang Jinyi and Yu Shang Xu were shown in this drama. The chemistry between them were quite awkward to watch but their camera placement for kissing was quite good. This drama is not good for rewatch unless you are hardcore fans. Its kind of NPC drama for me

My top 3 fav cdramas

Ive lost track how many times ive watched this dream this drama made up for the sad ending these leads had in enteral love from what i heard it had to do with copyright. The couple got their happy ending. However the leads chemistry is just chefs kiss all around the sadness and the happiness and fought together as one against their enemies through 3 lives times. This drama highlight of first love was sweet. I def recommend this drama if you watched enteral love.

Don't even bother with it

I tried, I really did but this is a horrible drama. The best thing about it is woojoo and maybe the ml. God this drama has everything I hate about dramas, an awfully written annoying fl with no boundaries, an annoying 2ml that gets too much screentime and the most irritating type of love triangle there is.

The story has not progressed, in fact it got worse as it went on and it's become unbearable to continue, this could've been a great drama had it focused on becoming a family with woojoo and the fl and ml slowly falling in love but the writing is so horrible, it's like all cliches put together but done in the worst possible way too. The writer nuked the story and completely destroyed the fl's character so badly that she has chemistry with absolutely no one and I don't even want to see her with ml anymore, I'm just irritated. Honestly what a waste because the premise was great, and baby was amazing. May this screenwriter never write another script again, who tf is wanting her godawful scripts?

Suprisingly Enjoyable and No Boring Moments

Cry Me a Sad River is about a Yi Yao who lives in poverty with her abusive mother, shares a close childhood bond with her neighbor and classmate Qi Ming, but everything spirals when a new transfer student, Tang Xiaomi, arrives and triggers rumors and jealousy. These rumors turn into cruel and relentless bullying that destroys Yi Yao's life and unfortunately leading to some tragic consequences.

Surprisingly, it's such an enjoyable watch with no boring moments, despite the overall vibe feels gloomy and heavy. The directing is amazing, with some really beautiful shots. The acting is incredible, and the story is good overall, but some plot events happen really fast, so I couldn't fully feel the depth of the story and characters.

It's A Good Watch

The Woman in the Storm tells the story of a wife and mother of two who experiences domestic violence from her own husband. She wants a divorce, but the circumstances around her leave her deeply conflicted and trapped in dilemma.

It has a great premise and a strong storyline, but some parts of the plot feel unexplored, it's a pity because deeper exploration could have made the story even more impactful. Still, the acting is amazing and the two leads give their best performances.

It's definitely a good watch

Me: Just checking the first episode.....Also Me: Episode 14 somehow!!!!

Okay listen…love love LOVE romance in every form, but Love Story in the 1970s absolutely wrecked me in the best way possible.

I’m not even going to get deep into the plot (even though I somehow finished the whole thing in two days like a completely normal, well-balanced person 😭). Two. Days. Zero self-control. No regrets.

AND..here’s the thing… this is technically a slow-burn romance, yet it NEVER feels slow. Not even a little bit. The relationship grows so naturally that you literally feel like a third wheel just standing there watching these two slowly fall for each other through tiny moments, quiet looks, and all the life situations they go through together.

And the setting?? The 1970s vibe is EVERYTHING. Their dreams, their struggles, the pressure of the time, all the economic and political stuff around them… it just makes their love hit even deeper. Like you’re watching two people slowly build a whole life together—full of love, dreams, and goals. And honestly… it’s sooo satisfying to watch.

Also the side characters???!!! Not a single useless person. Everyone has personality, everyone adds something, and the whole world of the drama feels so alive.

The acting? Insanely good. Not just the leads—EVERYONE showed up and delivered. And the cinematography is gorgeous too. Every scene looks like it belongs in some nostalgic old photo album.

So yeah… if you love soft, realistic romance that slowly creeps into your heart and refuses to leave… go watch it.

Just be warned: you might accidentally binge the entire drama in two days like a crazy person.

No shame though. We’ve all been there.

"Why are you trying to kill me?"

Legend of the Bat teamed up Ti Lung, director Chor Yuen, and Gu Long’s source material once again. Typical of these films, there was a huge cast list, betrayals, and hidden identities galore. The fights took place on the ancient version of yachts, dungeons, and of course, a villain’s lair fit for a drama queen.

Famous swordsmen Chu Liu Hsiang and Yi Tien Hung come across a massacre of heroes on their trip. One thing leads to another and Chu is headed to Bat Island to help out a couple who tried to murder him. Yi ends up on the boat to Bat Island for his own professional reasons. They are joined by others who have their own incentives for going to a place where anything is for sale. On their journey, they face death repeatedly with some not escaping the Grim Reaper’s scythe.

Legend of the Bat was a sequel to Clans of Intrigue. If there is one thing to be sure of in these loosely related films, the cast will be bloated and the bodies will stack high. You know to brace yourself for numerous characters when the actors' names pop up on the screen as everyone is introduced. Characters revealed their courage and integrity, while others revealed their nefarious motives. There were actually a couple of touching moments of personal sacrifice, even if the reasons stretched the boundaries of believability. Like a good soap opera, several characters came back from the dead.

Ti Lung was back as the fan carrying hero. Ling Yun yet again donned his big hat and moral ambiguity. Yueh Hua and Ching Li played a devoted married couple. Ching Miao took on two completely different characters who were unrelated hoping the audience wouldn’t notice. This time Yuen Wah had a fairly significant role as a loyal bodyguard which I was happy to see. Many of the same actors and stuntmen from previous films were in this film as well though as different characters.

Tang Chia and Huang Pei Chih designed fast, creative fight scenes for the time. Whether on floating houses, yachts, or in the villain’s lair, the swords flashed and the blood flowed. The heroes had to make their way through caves filled with deadly traps with only each other to rely on…and their trusty secret weapons.

Legend of the Bat was wonderfully convoluted with betrayals, family secrets, revenge, unusual characters, and elaborate traps. Billionaires would envy the floating palaces where murder and mayhem took place, minus the murder and mayhem, I guess. Who knows what happens on those yachts. In the previous film in this collection, there were daddy issues. This time around grown-ass children had mommy issues. Instead of murder and crime, couldn’t these people go in together and ask for a discount on group therapy? As always, rated on a curve.

5 March 2026
Mammal note: No bats in the film
Trigger warnings: A rather long scene of four nude “dead” women. Suicide and a person suicided.

Tiny spoilerish comment: The lightbulb gimmick near the end was hilarious!

A story with no heroes?

I watched this without any background of it as I just stumbled upon it on Daily Motion. The scenes reeled me pretty quickly not to mention the handsome male lead that I was shocked to find out is 45. I knew I was ready for some great acting and fighting scenes only to be left disappointed with the ending, like what was that? My hero's not a hero? I was drawn in and also drawn out? This is definitely not your typical story line. I was rooting all the way for my happy ending. So let's just say I'm still waiting to see what the moral of the story is. The acting is up to par. Actors did the best they could with the script given. I give this a high score because quite frankly, you will watch it til the end. And if that was the agenda, mission accomplished. There was a glimmer of hope with humming of the song, row row row your boat at the end. Maybe that sums it up. Maybe the title should have been, My Stranger Hero 😌

Hidden in Plain Sight...Another gem ?

I haven’t written a review in a long time. But every once in a while, a drama comes along that pushes you to open that review box again… and this one did exactly that.

I’m genuinely proud to be part of that small slice of watchers on MDL who stumble upon the kind of dramas most people scroll past, the quiet ones. The ones with no loud hype online, no endless edits flooding social media, yet somehow they dominate at home and shine through their writing and production.

They don’t come with the usual crowd-pleasing faces. They’re not backed by giant production houses or aggressively promoted everywhere you look. There’s no manufactured buzz around them, just solid storytelling doing its job. But if you give these dramas a real chance, they leave a mark that lingers long after the final episode.

And this drama is exactly that kind of gem.
I adore both leads, Chen Jingke and Gao Ye. They’re one of my personal favorites, the kind of actors you quietly root for because they consistently deliver. True hidden gems. And selfishly? A small part of me hopes they stay that way… untouched by over-commercialization and still beautifully underrated.

I’ve watched a number of their dramas before, but in Persona they shine in a completely different way. One word comes to mind: gripping. Or better yet, "this is what I’m talking about. This is how a story should be written, presented, shot, and brought to life"

Everything wraps up beautifully in just 12 episodes, each around 43 minutes, and not a single moment feels wasted. Every loose end is tied, every detail carefully placed. What impressed me the most was the storytelling structure. The interrogation scenes become the narration, weaving past events into the present in such a smooth way. There are no messy time jumps, no confusing disconnections, just clean, intelligent storytelling with precise editing and carefully calculated timelines.

And the genre blend? Somehow this drama balances thriller, detective, romance, legal drama, and tragedy all in one story without any of them stepping on each other’s toes. Something that is often hard to pull off.

Persona(2025) is not your typical perfectly wrapped, fairy-tale ending, you might feel a small ache when the credits roll. But if you let the story be what it was meant to be, you’ll realize the ending is actually the most honest part of it. It doesn’t chase dramatic fan service or easy emotional wins. Instead, it stays loyal to its characters and the world it built. And somehow, that quiet honesty makes the story linger even longer after it ends ( I can already feel this drama will live rent free in my head for awhile)

Honestly, this is an easy 9.2/10 for me.
And the only reason it didn’t reach a 9.5 is because my romantic heart didn’t quite get the ending it secretly hoped for.

Park Su Bong - the Queen of the show

Sorry but while the premise was good, the story just didn't pull it off.
The plot had major holes, the romance was too rushed, then petered out. No chemistry - dare I say BORING?! The Dad was horrible. The FL was a limp noodle. ML was eye candy, but even that wasn't enough to save this show. The only thing worth watching was Park Su Bong! Loved how he tried to hold men's hands, and threw screaming fits! At least HE was entertaining.

Sifeng's Never Ending Suffering.

The show is pretty solid for a xianxia, by which I mean I expected misunderstandings and got MISUNDERSTANDINGS X 100 because the first arc was just that, they got together pretty quickly, Sifeng fell hard and fast and never fell out. Boy was a lovestruck fool for 10 lifetimes. His love was selfless and it annoyed the fuck out of me because it showcased how Xuanji's love is very much the opposite. Sure they write it off as her having no senses, but even when she acquires those senses she trusts him even less. The more feelings she got the quicker she was to judging him I think. Anyways, I loved some parts, hated others. I hated THAT ASSHOLE HAO CHEN and will forever be grateful this wasn't my introduction to Liu Xueyi.
I was surprised all of this happened in one lifetime, when I first started I was really expecting a death that will lead to life 2.0 in the heavenly realm, in fact at some point I thought the show should've just gone with that to spare me the dislike I developed for Xuanji.

Yu Sifeng is best boy, he deserves all the love.

The drama makes me crave a drama with a protective female lead. (How I miss you FU YIXIAO)

Great short run drama

At only 11 minutes per episode, this short run drama does a great job tying up all the intrigue that was planted. We had character growth, some brief tropes, but it all wrapped nicely with a bow! And it even manage to have some nice plot twists! Is it a heavy plot? No. But that's what I enjoy about well done short run dramas like this. Don't let the terrible edit in the beginning thrown you off. Enjoy!

2 puppies in love!

This is the perfect drama if you are looking for "feel good" series. It is overloaded with sweetness and pure moments between 2 very "nice" people.

Plot: a naive girl falls in love with her brother's best friend. Being 5 years younger than him, they find themselves in different stages of life, but when she becomes an adult they finally get the chance to be together.

This is a very sweet story but and it's fame is well deserved but of course nothing is perfect.

First point: I feel that adding the scenes of a middle school FL added nothing to the story, but made it a bit weirder. Why? Just why? If they met when she was already in highschool would have been better.

Second point: this is my first drama with Zhao lusi and I can confidently say her fame is well deserved. She is amazing and very believable. The main "beef" I have is with her character.
She is frankly one dimensional. Except for being in love with this guy there isn't much else. I am not even quite sure what she studies at university. School days are basically non existing.

Third point: why did they have to make the ml such a miserable guy. The amount of trauma this guy went through... I know the drama wants to make two opposite face each other (they guy who had a hard life and the sheltered princess) but this doesn't really work. Even though he went through so much he is heavenly sweet just like the FL who didn't face a single struggle in her life.

Fourth point : this is not really a point but just a preference. At the very beginning I thought the FL was playing a more childish voice to create a contrast between her character as a teenager and her character as an adult... I quickly realized that is just the way she speaks😅. I know that China probably has some sort of sweet spot for aegyo like in Korea.. but man.. sometimes it is hard to listen to a 20 something years old girl like a child. That's nobody a fault. It's just the actress way of speaking. No big deal.

Talking about positives: the actors have such good chemistry. They really feel like a real couple.

Going back to negatives : I am currently at episode 20... Ok I love their story, but this entire series is only based on their love story. Nothing else is happening. It's starting to be a bit boring...

Finally over.

Definitely a good drama, worth watching but only if you really like romance cause there isn't anything else in here.😅
