this series is the ache in my heart.

i watched every single moment with my heart aching. they made me feel every single emotion they felt in every single minute. i felt the hardship of everything they went through until the very end. yuan's words, "you shouldn't be afraid of cracks, because light can enter through them." were actually the summary of the entire series. it was the story of people who never gave up and eventually found happiness. though how can one call happiness the happiness that they struggled so hard to achieve and brought all their traumas with them? sometimes i cried but I felt both sadness and happiness until the very end. it was wonderful.

Goodbye My Love (2099): Virtual Embrace

🔹 Would I rewatch? No

✨ What happens when a lazy emperor inside a computer world meets an AI consort designed to change him?

📖 Overview 🎬
🔹 18 episodes, sci-fi romance
🔹 At the time of this review, 6 episodes have aired
🔹 Adapted from the web novel Chen Xiao Hua Xing Feng Zuo Lang De Yi Tian: Ai Fei, Ji Qi Ren by Tun Cha Jiao Hua
🔹 Sun Zeyuan as Chen Xiao Hua: a ruler who avoids responsibility until forced to act
🔹 Li Xirui (Sierra Li) as Lady Xiao 2099: an AI bride with unique training methods
🔹 The story begins when Lady Xiao is selected to inspire him within a virtual palace
🔹 Perfect for fans who enjoy romance stories with a modern digital twist

✨ How It Felt Watching 💙
🔹 The story combines light comedy and royal romance with the idea of a virtual world.
🔹 Watching it was fun at first, but some emotional beats didn’t land as strongly as they could.
🔹 Themes of love, responsibility, and choice appear early, though not deeply explored yet.
🔹 The concept feels entertaining, but the character arcs and pacing need more development.

🎭 Cast & Performances
🔹 Sun Zeyuan plays Chen Xiao Hua as laid-back and funny, which makes his growth easy to relate to and charming.
🔹 Li Xirui (Sierra Li) adds warmth and liveliness to her AI role as Lady Xiao 2099.
🔹 The supporting cast brings humor and small bursts of tension to the palace world.

🎵 OST 🎧
🔹 偏要 (Pian Yao) by Li Xirui (李溪芮)

🎨 Visuals & Production
🔹 Setting and mood: colorful, polished, and a little whimsical
🔹 Costumes and sets: classic court outfits mixed with futuristic touches
🔹 Camera and pacing: quick-moving, but often skips emotional pauses

🏆 Final Thoughts
🔹 What worked: a quirky AI consort idea, fun chemistry between the leads, and light digital palace comedy
🔹 What didn’t: familiar tropes and shallow arcs make it feel less unique
🔹 Would I rewatch? No

☕ SpillTheDramaTea’s Rating: 6/10
🌿 Tea-Scale: a cup with surprises, uneven at times, but rewarding

✏️ As SpillTheDramaTea, I found it amusing, but I wasn’t deeply pulled in.

✨ Can an AI bride truly stir your emotions, or does her charm fade once the novelty wears off?

The best drama cast ive ever seen!

The story is new , I've watched dramas about time-traveling . But this story was something new , fresh and intriguing.
Some like you don't know what is gonna happen , you cant predict so it makes you keep watching.
The characters are impressive, ths line of the story and their actions genuinely was great.
After a long time i watched a drama that was holding me on my seat , not letting me resume watching. Not letting you feel bored or etc.
The cast, all actors were new to me ,which i haven't seen their act before .
They are all professional actors.
I really enjoyed watching their acts .
As a person who leaves the dramas even after watching 20 episodes (i don't care how much time I spend on a drama, whenever i feel it doesn't worth more time i leave it ) , i suggest this drama .

When Destiny Hands You a Demon Boyfriend

Xianxia + Transmigration

After a car accident, the FL, Liao Tingyan (played by Wang Yinglu) wakes up in a different world. Her greatest ambition? To be a “salted fish” — i.e., to be lazy and do absolutely nothing. After the initial expected shock of waking up in a different fantasy world, Liao Tingyan realizes this great miraculous opportunity — a chance at the vacation she never had time to take in her real life. Too bad fate has other plans.

Initially at the selection cermony to “make up the numbers”, she’s chosen as one of a hundred women sent to serve the Lord of “Mercy”. Despite trying her hardest to stay invisible to keep her life (and enjoy her “vacation”), her actions catches the eye of this Immortal Ancestor (played by Chen Feiyu) and gets swept into his plans for revenge against those who imprisoned him for over 500 years. What follows is a journey that forces them to trust one another, fall in love, and sacrifice deeply.

The drama is an uncomplicated romance, and its greatest strength lies in that very simplicity, as well as in the charm of its characters. Liao Tingyan’s overworked modern-girl personality — and her ability to shrug and say “meh” while rolling with the tide — is charming. I especially loved how she often took the lead in their relationship, leaving the supposedly fearsome ancestor blushing (at least in the beginning, lol). Wang Yinglu with the perfect awkward acting nailed this character.

Although I’ve only watched one other drama from each lead (and I use the term watched here loosely), I have to say: Chen Feiyu left a serious impression here. He embodied every stage of Sima Jiao’s development flawlessly — from the deliciously vengeful ancestor, to the shy and bewildered “why is this girl messing with my heart” version, to the reluctant boyfriend rediscovering humanity, to the tender lover, the grieving partner, and even the innocent 19-year-old emperor.

The chemistry is not to be overlooked either. This drama might just have one of the most intimately charged CPs of the year. Their connection wasn’t just about the many (and I mean many) kisses, but also in the soft gazes, the gentle caresses, the nose rubs. Half the time I wanted to replay those moments, and the other half I felt like a guilty voyeur intruding on a private scene.

That said, the drama isn’t without flaws. It doesn’t boast a strong antagonist — most of them exist purely to move the couple along their love story. Not a disaster for a romance-focused drama, but it does feel a bit lazy at times. The demon realm arc was underwhelming, but the mortal realm arc? A mess. It gave off the same vibe as writing an exam essay: you start off detailed and confident, but halfway through you realize you’re out of both time and paper, so you rush to cram everything in. Suddenly, instead of showing the plot, the drama resorts to endless inner monologues, basically saying, “I’ll just tell you what’s happening — sit tight and listen.”

The second leads didn’t add much either. Whatever charm they had ended during the first arc. And this is not saying anything about the so called love rival for the main couple. Possibly the most generic and unimaginative character they could have thrown in. Both the character and writing was so grating it made me want to swat him away like a buzzing mosquito.

Although I have praised the main leads acting earlier, I have to mention one complaint, which is that their emotional portrayals during the “death” scenes felt underwhelming. I wanted more — disbelief, shock, messy crying, even outright guttural screaming or outrage. Sima Jiao’s reaction during the transition into the demon arc was great, but sadly, that intensity didn’t carry over into another key moment (staying vague here to avoid spoilers 😭). I’m honestly not sure if this was on the actors or a directing choice, but it left me wanting more.

Overall: A great pick if you’re looking for an easy romance with likable leads, tons of chemistry, and just enough angst sprinkled in.

Spark missing & FL acting cringe and exagerate

I just watched the first 2 episode. Was so boring, nothing intresting, nothing new or inspiring.

Why is it successful? Because it's cheap commercial comedy, for people who don't need much, or to use their head, creativity, curiosity for more. Is a simple stupid kdrama. In the last 2 years they've lost their spark on doing great or good dramas. Once again it is demonstrated that what is successful does not mean it is also good or profound or inspirational. There are many underrated kdrama, but few people with artistic preference and knowledge, or out of the box, beyond imature behaviour.

Yoon A is cute as a woman, but as a actor is mediocre. You dont see any emotion on her face, does not express any feelings in her acting, is flat. She is the same in every drama. Here you will not find any difference in acting she is like in King the land

In the first episode the FL was cute, but acting like stupid, and also unrealistic even for a fantasy drama. The FL character is annoying, the comedy is so cringe.

However I like the ML acting...

Sorry... I don't know if I will continue. If you will want to give it a try I recommend you to order korean food, a lot of food.

And I would have loved to see Park Sung Hoon in the new drama " The Tyrant's Chef " . He would have been super attractive, seductive, present. He would have been epic as a man and as a power and acting talent. Or maybe it's better, that ML is not that talented and deep as an actress. We will never know.

Korean society is very bad at the chancellery. They are obsessed with control, image, the eyes of the world because they are not connected to them, there is a lot of lack of deep connection and emotional and mental maturity in this society...at least from what I observe in the world of kdrama Kpop.

Ending

I really liked the first 20 episodes. Would've given it a solid 8.5 if it wasn't for the ending.

Now, the ending: they should’ve stopped at the proposal scene. The last few minutes were completely unnecessary, and the whole subplot with Tian Yu (2nd ML) toward the end wasn’t needed. The ending felt like ragebait at this point.

A Drama of Mystery, Melodrama, and Lingering Feels

Sometimes a drama starts like a thriller, takes a sharp turn into melodrama, and somehow still leaves you laughing, crying, and thinking long after the credits. Twelve Letters does exactly that.

The drama opens with two timelines: the nineties, where young protagonists navigate violent gang rivalries and domestic turmoil, and modern days, where two strangers are desperately searching for a missing parent, guided by a mysterious mailbox and cryptic letters. Initially, the tension between these timelines is delicious—intertwining in suspenseful ways that keep you guessing.

The nineties timeline is portrayed with authentic grit and rawness. The struggles, friendships, and loyalty feel lived-in and real. Modern timeline characters, however, sometimes stumble. Having grown up in safe environments, they are depicted with surprisingly low emotional intelligence, prone to shouting, mistrust, and childlike reactions—especially the female lead, who occasionally feels more like a teenager than a fully formed adult.

Midway through, the drama shifts gears. The mystery takes a backseat to melodrama, focusing almost exclusively on the nineties storyline, which spans 25 years. The male protagonist carries a lifetime of guilt and shame from being abandoned as a child, which is heart-wrenching in its own right. But for fans of suspense, you might find yourself muttering: “What about the letters? The mailbox? Hello?”

The latter part of the drama does circle back to the mystery, injecting suspense just when you thought it was gone. With the clock ticking and outcomes uncertain, the final stretch delivers both action and sentimentality without ever tipping into cringe territory. Themes of grief, life choices, friendship, loyalty, sacrifice, and deep emotional connection are explored with care—and some scenes linger long after the credits roll.

Despite the tonal shift into melodrama, the execution is compelling. Acting is excellent across the board, cinematography is strong, and the supporting characters inject moments of levity, humor, and emotional punch—some scenes genuinely made me laugh out loud. The soundtrack is interesting, alternating between lullabies in a southern dialect and darker themes that underscore the drama’s emotional highs and lows.

Verdict:
Twelve Letters starts as a mystery, detours into melodrama, but ultimately delivers a smart, emotional journey peppered with suspense and laughs. If you enjoy smart protagonists navigating messy, emotional lives—and can forgive a few timeline hiccups—this drama is worth your time. And yes, the mailbox mystery eventually pays off.

I don't know why there are so many bad reviews, this movie is beautiful.

It was a very beautiful movie, in my opinion. The love shown isn't childish as it often seems in other dramas. It seems beautiful and pure, and it shows what real love should be like. I almost cried because it was so beautiful and how much I wish for a love like that.

I highly recommend it to people who like this type of drama. If you don't like romance, it might not be your thing, but the movie is truly beautiful.

a fun watch if you can suspend disbelief

It definitely has some plot holes and a fair amount of convenient main character plot armour, but the vibe, tension and pacing of the show is good, so I didn't feel like the flaws seriously detracted from my overall enjoyment

The ending of the mystery of the Gui Seal is kind of questionable in my opinion, and I wasn't really sold on the justification for why the third enemy did Evil Things, but again it wasn't enough to seriously hinder my enjoyment.

also the music ate, especially the ending

Its good

I don't know why alot of people are bashing this lol. Plus there was eye candy in this 😍😂 Especially Asusa and Yamato.
If she didn't get with Asusa, I'd prefer Yamato. I thought they'd be cute. Their interactions was always funny.
Subaru was too obsessive like. I get yall liked each other when yall were KIDS but feelings definitely change.
Now what was a tad bit annoying was that she didnt know who she wanted to be with. BUT if I was in her shoes, I wouldn't know either. 😂😂 Like you have 3 people who like you. And they also kept flirting and all which doesn't help at choosing. I feel like Subaru was just thinking of their childhood memories all the time which was ugh.
Also the description is wrong. They aren't triplets. They are 18,17 and 16.
Overall though, I thought it was good. I'd rewatch it. And I RARELY rewatch straight Asian series 😭 (More of a BL fan)

Such a sweet drama!!!❤️

I loved watching this drama so so much!! I especially love watching dramas where it’s not a big deal to be queer or gay, and the characters can just live their own lives free of embarrassment and or fear of criticism. I also loved how patient and honest Yoon Soo was with Do Hoon, and that takes a lot of maturity. Also, it’s also beautiful to remember that for chefs, cooking is an art form, so you should never be careless with your feedback when you try their food, and I thought that was a great lesson that was added to this series. 💜I wish there was a Season 2, because I became so invested in their story💜

A powerful, educational, and socially impactful

A powerful, educational, and socially impactful series about the “trafficking of women and children,” a topic that is considered taboo in many societies—especially in a communist country that would normally aim to portray the government in a positive light. Interestingly, this is the first series on this subject in China in over twenty years.

WORTH IT

I genuinely loved and enjoyed this drama. I was happy that it featured romance less but to me romance was not required here. Thoroughly enjoyed the ups and downs of a complete different genre of a drama. For the first time I saw a kdrama featuring rugby. The actor who played Ju Ga Ram was phenomenal in his acting. The whole plot that how empathetic a coach can be really made me awe. The fact that he understood everything from a student's point of view but still pointed out the right and wrong things is what really a coach is. Would have appreciate it more if the other boys than Yohan got more screentiming becuase their acting was what made me watch all the episodes. A phenomenal drama regarding sports and how a good coach can mentor potential athletes to plsy better.
