Silly But Fun

This drama was my first time seeing Yoo Seung Ho and Chae Soo Bin in any drama so I had nothing to gauge their performances against, but I really loved both of them.

The premise is wild but it's unique and fun, albeit a little creepy. lol Getting to see her go from very robotic "robot" to realistic "robot" was really fun. The situations she got herself into were very sitcom-like but they pulled them off well.

I also really liked seeing the progression of Kim Min Kyu (Yoo Seung Ho) from anal, uptight, weirdo introvert to a more relaxed version of himself that can entertain guests without absolutely losing it.

The romance is cute too. It's sort of a unique twist on the enemies to lovers trope that we see so often, but it really works well.

Took me a while to actually start watching this drama, but it had a nice setting and Seungho and Soobin were cute so I might as well. At first, I had to admit that the initial plot of having Minkyu have an allergy to human contact was a bit farfetched. But then I ended up looking up the internet for the possibility of allergies to have connection with mental illness, and surprisingly, there were some studies that imply the likelihood for something like that to happen!

Because of that, I had a renewed interest in this drama. Since it is an interesting scenario where someone could have developed such illness due to some extreme conditions and how one could try to heal someone from it. In that sense, it was actually logical to think that having an android that looked like a real person could help someone who could easily die from a simple touch. It's also an interesting scenario on how AI and robotics could be use to help people in need of help.

I really love Yoo Seungho in this drama. It really felt like he's a perfect fit to play Minkyu and it's hard to imagine someone else who could do this better. And Seungho was really good at playing socially awkward characters to the point of fondness. You just can't help being drawn to his character and sympathising at the kind of lonely life he had endured. And I like how his progress in getting better was written in a way that it was believable and wasn't sudden. I also love how it was depicted like a modern fairy tale on how love helps in healing an illness that was influenced by the mind.

Chae Soobin was really great in this drama, playing the human Ji-A, alongside the android Aji-3. Like you can really tell the difference when she was playing a person and when she's playing a robot. Uhm Kijoon was great as the scientist who created Aji-3, Dr Hong. Since he tend to end up playing villain roles a lot more times than he plays good characters, I really appreciate him not being a villain in this drama lol.

Have to say that as much as the corporate plot was secondary compared to the main romance plot, the former didn't feel like pasted on as some irrelevant background setting. Both of the story plot was pretty balanced and enjoyable.

For those who love the science fiction theme on how robots and AI would want to learn more about humans, this drama was a fascinating watch. As much as the android Aji-3 didn't really do much in the drama, the android was still shown to still be able to learn through the input given by Ji-a, who pretended to be Aji-3. It was interesting to see how all of the accumulated data that Aji-3 then leads to it deciding by herself to choose to return to its rightful home instead of allowing itself to be taken by bad businessman who seek to use her technology for military purposes.

Loved

First review here. The love story here is extraordinary. People keep referring to it as fluffy and cute. I think it is more very sweet at the beginning. I liked the ending too. Tied everything up nicely. The middle, I suppose, is fluffy -- if your definition of fluffy means tear your heart out of your chest, slam it against the wall, put it through a meat grinder and throw the pieces on the street for the wild dogs to eat. I had to fast forward to the ending to reassure myself that it would get less painful as I sobbed into my pillow. But man, it strung me along for a while.

The ML's conveying of a huge range of emotions is extraordinary. The actor is brilliant in this role. The FL plays a robot throughout a lot of the show, so has to remain emotionless. Her human versus robot emotions are beautifully done.

The rest of the cast did a great job. I'm not usually a fan of the silly comic relief characters, but they were cute and funny and I didn't want to fast forward through them like i do in other dramas.

Highly recommend it. Haven't seen any of the ML and FL's other works, but hope they both got roles worthy of their acting after this.

Hilariously Heartwarming

As a die-hard fan, I've rewatched this gem countless times! With a 9.5/10 rating, it's my ultimate go-to for a dose of laughter and romance. Yoo Seung-ho's charismatic charm and Chae Soo-bin's adorable quirkiness create an electric on-screen chemistry that's pure magic. The roller-coaster of emotions, from mistaken identities to heart-melting moments, keeps me hooked. The quirky premise of a "robot" girlfriend is a riot, and the show's knack for balancing feels with funny is genius. It's not just a drama; it's my feel-good therapy!

unique and different concept..

This is one of the 'feel good' type Kdrama..It's got a great storyline, timely comic reliefs.. it's about sci-fi, being human, time, memories, courage and trust. The seriousness and dark mode never lasted too long and it faded away with the best climax I have watched.

The main characters are just hilarious😁😁😁.... Yoo Seung-ho is indeed a great actor. His acting is flawless...
Each and every actor and their characters are awesome as they are done justice on till the end.

The ending of the story is beautifully and leisurely written which just warms your heart. If you are feeling sad after watching a sad story you should watch this for heal yourself. I love this wonderful drama with a happy ending...

This drama was soooo cute!!! I have barely see sunlight for the past weeks because of being stuck at home due to quarantine but everytime I watched this series, my room just felt like sunlight filled it!

This was a very lighthearted drama, and it reminded me so much of Coffee Prince (which I rewatched and loved recently!) because of the aspect of girl pretending to be something else for rich guy. The twists were just right here, and I love how the characters grew throughout the series, especially Mingyu! I really like the trust he built not only with the people around him but with himself and how far that got him, with Ji Ah being a factor to that motivation but not completely dependent to her. I also like how he (unlike other rich, arrogant guy characters) respected her space and did not act overly protective over Ji Ah and did not act overly irresponsible both over his work and personal life.

I really have nothing bad to say about this, it was so fluffy all-throughout and the dramatic parts were resolved well really there is only one part which I feel unsatisfied about but, its not a super big part but a curiosity. There were some points in the drama that became a little cliche but what is K-Dramas without them right? And fortunately, it fit quite okay.

Anyhow, I'm so glad I picked this up, watched it with my sister too, and its so nice to see my favorite actors with each other. I've loved Yoo Seung Ho since I first saw him in Missing You, and today I just reestablished my love for him really. I cannot get over how cute he and Soo Bin were here, and I'm also gonna give the rest of the Santa Maria team that, especially Uhm Ki Joon.

If you're looking for something light, fun and unproblematic, then this is for you!

P.S: I just want to point out again how I am so in LOVE with Yoo Seung Ho, he is baby.

A masterpiece

I don’t give out 10/10’s lightly…this one will forever live in my heart. Every part of it was wonderful. It was a unique story and the writers did such a good a job. The actors were phenomenal and had me crying in many scenes. This is one of those that I will replay over and over in my mind. Truly the perfect love story done right.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a wonderful show and I want to rate this higher, I really do. But the anticipation of wondering if the main male lead was going to figure out of the main female lead was actually a robot or not was killing me and making me anxious. The other part that was killing me is the fact that he was falling in love with her, thinking she’s a robot but she wasn’t which is the point of the show but I just wanted them to be in love and happy which again, was not a problem but I actually felt so crushed that she was falling for this dude and couldn’t tell him. So I’m kind of bummed it took me 20 episodes to feel any emotion except for anxiety because I was hooked and loved the show but also I was like WHEN WILL YOI KNOW THE TRUTH AND FALL IN LOVE!!! So that’s my honest opinion though, with the watch, I didn’t want to skip through but also had to for my own sanity. I literally needed spoilers in order to get through this or else I was going to have a panic attack or something. But it kept me out of my seat; so yes, watch it.

A good series, with great actors, if we accept the insane plot \_(^◇^)_/

I saw this series several years ago and I didn't remember it very well. So I decided to give it a 2nd chance (o・_・)

The plot is obviously insane, not credible at all:
The ML, a very rich CEO, is totally isolated because he suffers from a severe allergy to human contact. He tests a humanoid robot with AI, before investing in the laboratory that created it. The robot breaks down, and, in order not to lose the funding, the principal researcher asks his ex-girlfriend (the FL, who had served as a model for the robot) to take the robot's place.
The ML will gradually come out of his shell, cure his allergy, fall in love with the FL, fight against the villains within his social circle, etc.

The beginning is quite slow. Some characters are annoying.
But little by little, the viewers let themselves be hooked by the story, thanks to the talent of the actors.

PROS:
+ The CL is very very cute and shows great chemistry.
The 2 leads played difficult roles very well: a sick man and almost hermit during 15 years for the ML, and a humanoid robot & a young inventor for the FL.
+ Team Santa Maria is endearing.
+ the 2dary characters are well developed.
+ Good balance of emotion, romance, humor.

CONS:
- Implausible and very “dramaland” storyline

=> A good series, only for entertainment, for the performance of two great actors.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
J'avais vu cette série il y a plusieurs années et je n'en gardais pas un souvenir extraordinaire. J'ai donc décidé de lui donner une 2nde chance (o・_・)

+ Team Santa Maria attachante.
+ les personnages 2daires sont bien développés.
+ Bon équilibre d'émotion, de romance, d'humour.

CONS:
- Storyline invraisemblable et très "dramaland"

=> Une bonne série, avec de great actors, si on accepte le plot insensé \_(^◇^)_/

I would definitely recommend it to those who doubt about the crazy plot. The plot may sound weird to some, but when you watch it, you will feel butterflies on your stomach and you can’t contain the excitement, also, you will feel mixed emotions. (Unless if light, fluffy, romantic drama is not your cup of tea)

When you look at the title, you seem to know already the main plot of the drama where you pretend to be a robot and then one day, it will be discovered soon and then there will be trust issues, yada yada yada. Since I watched these kinds of dramas, I already know that, but I loved the execution of the story line and the acting. I like how the plot is simple yet interesting. Started simple, ended simple. Some people think that simple is boring, but in this drama, I don’t think so. I smiled, cried, and laughed while watching this. Though the drama still had unexplained things, it ended well, the pacing is good, and I like it.

The cast. Oh my gosh. I love the cast and their characters. Jo Ji A and Kim Min Kyu are great characters and their relationship is so beautiful. The characters and the romance make the drama more interesting to watch. Everyone did an amazing job.

Music is great, of course. I'm replaying the OST LOL! I’m not basically a re-watcher unless if the drama is really, really memorable but I would re-watch the comedy and romantic scenes.
Overall, decent drama. Not memorable for me but I would, again, really recommend it to those who haven’t watched yet.

Before you read my review I would like you to know that I actually took a while to complete this drama. But the reason is mainly that I am way too busy and NOT because the drama is boring or I wanted to drop it. Due to my busy schedule, 30 minutes per episode was SUCH a big help compared to 1 hour per episode as I still am able to watch 1 episode here and there in between when I have my free time.

Ok, now back to the drama review!
Just a few words to describe the entire drama:
- Cute
- Easy
- Soft
- Light-hearted
If any of those words match the kind of drama you are looking for then you can give this drama a green light and give it a try.

What made me so attached to this drama is the loyalty of the characters. Even after going thru bad times their friendship is still there and it even made their friendship stronger. When there is a good time, they celebrate it together. Even though there are corporations scenes but nothing heavy or boring as it's still watchable and bearable.

TBH, I think some part of the drama, the storyline kinda run out of track but not too far away. Overall the drama is still worth a watch since it's a happy ending and everyone found their other half.

Its very soft and chilling

This is the best written show I have watched with focus on every single character. The writers have done exceptional job in writing the story and at times goosebumps inducing scenarios which relate to one another in complete unexpected way.
One more best part in the story was that the seriousness and dark mode never lasted long and when it did, it faded away with the best climax I have watched. The ending of the story is beautifully and leisurely written which just warms your heart.
Each and every actor and their characters are awesome as they are done justice on till the end.
And how could I not appreciate the lead female, AJI 3(robot), or Jo Ji A, is beautiful both as human and as the Robot from the start.
It's a heart warming series from start till the end which will make you laugh and cry.

Authors are genius to have written such an amazing series. No! It's not the plot that is fascinating.
It's the little details. Every show I watch, I wish I could see a character's reaction for a certain moment. And this one Korean series fulfilled my wishes.

This series has goosebumps inducing authors, amazing directors and the most beautiful actors.

Minor spoiler - The Climax with meteor shower would be the most beautiful part, which I loved as an author and as an audience. It's genius and beautiful.
End of spoiler.

Thank you for this show, and especially, I would like to thank and suggest every director to direct such shows with such ending where we are left with one or two episodes with heart warming smiles and laughter.

And to the people who wrote positive reviews here, thank you. And to those who are reading, just please do watch this show and have a beautiful life.

Do not miss an opportunity to love, and I hope you all find people who would heal your heart.
