the little drama that could but wouldn’t
i loved the storyline. that is what pulled mein. after episode 1$2 I almost dropped it because it wasn’t what i expected. but the fl was so good that i stayed. ml lead was ok for me but to me they had 0 romance chemistry. big sister chemistry? yep. but that was about it. the entire line of him suddenly out of the blue falling in love with her when just minutes before he cried for his first love, wasn’t adding up. it was so forced and rehearsed. i just couldn’t take him serious!
there was no magic moment or anything like it. just here we go we are in love now. you could tell with the fl when it changed but not him. his explanation was “I don’t know when it changed”. this entire story felt forced after a while. the sfl is a great actress and so beautiful but seriously… in this drama they just let her have one meltdown after another because she wasn’t famous?! playing one against the other with her crying and needyness. her facial expression barely ever changed. i wanted to see so much more of her and they completely missed that opportunity!
sml was great and I was on his side until that moment! until he raised his hand. i was done after that. idc what happened but You do not hit someone. idc if male or female. you just don’t, period!
that long drawn out “wait for me” ….seriously?! this wasn’t an illness or threat or anything like that. you lied. you got caught. you are facing consequences! the end. same with sfl and her running in the street. you caused the problems. take responsibility!
that marriage proposal was so rushed lol. i expected more romance.
i was a bit disappointed to be honest.
it could have been so much more.

So I Married an Anti-Fan: 7/9/2025 ~ 7/11/2025
I had really high hoped for this show considering that I really like the movie version of it. It was good at the beginning and I was really into but after a while it felt like it was dragging and not getting anywhere. There also the instance of the ML first love who I felt he never really got over after he was constantly defending her even when the FL was right there. It made it seem like he kinda settled for the FL and was into but not head over heels for her. There also the instance of the villain who was not only the first love but his ex best friend who boy got forgiven in the end because they got hurt, which while I guess made sense it made all the drama that took place pointless. The only reason I rated it so high was because I like the banter between the ML and FL when none of the drama was taking place. Was this review helpful to you?

I am sure that “Girls Generation” Choi Soo Young brought many of her fans to this drama with expectations to see something that would make the heart flutter. The first 7 episodes were typical K-drama fare---nothing out of the ordinary on the menu, but what you did like was the gradual change of heart that Hoo Joon (played by Choi Tae Joon) was having toward Lee Guenyoung (played by Choi Soo Young). It was not until episode 8 when Hoo Joon finally confessed his feelings to Guenyoung and actor Choi Tae Joon showed us all (and boy did he 😊) that he really knows how to kiss a woman. From the moment of that kiss at the end of episode 7, it was like the drama went into overdrive and someone had slapped a jet propulsion pack on the backs of the audience. The love story shifted into high gear, and it was an incredibly fun and enjoyable ride to the very end.
The three things that I loved most about this drama were: 1) The fierce approach that Hoo Joon had in his displays of affection for Guenyoung. Every time he kissed her you got the feeling that he was thinking to himself “I am going to KISS you (Guenyoung) REEEAL GOOD!!!! You will know that you've been kissed and it will never be confused as an accident”. I just loved it !!!! I also loved Guenyoung’s girly responses to many of their sweet moments together. 2) Hoo Joon was not just a boyfriend to Guenyoung but he became an honorable man. Who couldn’t be in love with this man and/or respect him highly when he sincerely put his career on the line to protect his friends and Guenyoung. I was so proud of the transformation of Hoo Joon and the reveal of his strong character and unswerving love for Guenyoung. 3) The extremely happy ending. It was an ending that encompassed reflection, forgiveness, reconciliation, repair and finding new directions and new places. And then there was the absolute SWEET proposal for marriage that Hoo Joon made to Guenyoung followed by that signature kiss of Hoo Joon's to the woman that he so loved. I can hear the girls squealing in the crowd and the guys with wide smiles on their faces thinking---“Now that’s how you do it!!!”
The official soundtrack was also deep and varied in the amount and type of songs played but it was splashy and fun, with great lyrics and great beats, and they all brought a lightness and happiness to the whole drama.
A note of caution to those who have not seen this drama yet: The periphery stories of Jae Joon and In Hyung felt like bad side dishes through most of the drama and most of you will really hate the character of Jae Joon, but it all worked out lovely in the end---you’ll see.
This was one of the rare K-Dramas that I wish they would make a Season 2. I know Choi Tae Joon and Choi Soo Young both have significant others in their real lives but these two really had some amazing chemistry with each other on-screen. I really believe that if they did not have other people in their real lives that what we saw on screen would have been even hotter 🔥🔥🔥. This started out as a 7.5 and rocketed all the way past 10 into the stratosphere 💙💚💛💜

Main leads were fine, really disliked In Hyeong.
The toxic character In Hyeong needed major psychiatric care. This needed to be addressed because she caused a great deal of pain to those around her. I never for a second felt any sympathy for her. The last place she needed to be was trying to be an idol star. Any kind of job would be hard for someone like her that wasn’t being treated for her mental illness. JJ never handled it properly, she needed counseling and medication therapy. She had two suicide attempts and she was never put into a lockdown unit.Neither JJ or Hoo Joon had a loving family to turn to for support when they needed it. That was something that Geun Yeong had. Not only did she have family but also close trusting friends.

Good idea, poor directing and script
Things I liked:1 The plot. It was original and it could be great if the execution was good.
2 The manager. Great character, good acting, I just loved him, and his relationship with the male lead.
3 The male lead. Although he didn't do a great job, he still was good at showing some emotions and other than the manager he was my favorite of the cast.
Things I disliked:
1 The plot didn't live up to my expectations. It could be funny, romantic if the director was good, but in my opinion he was truly bad.
2 The female lead isn't a great actress. For such a funny premise I was expecting more from her. It was like she didn't care about her lines. Something felt off.
3 The way the male lead acted. I love this actor normally. Here he was too distanced from his role and he never truly embraced it.
4 Lack of chemistry between the leads.
5 The producer and the director. I didn't find the endearing, just irritating.
6 The script. The idea was great, the script just bearable. Some things didn't make any sense and the whole concept felt stupid when they could have chosen to develop it in some other way that could make it shine.
Things I hated:
1 The second female lead. Such a stupid character. I didn't like her even for a second. I didn't care what would happen to her at all.
2 The second male lead. Worst actor ever. Worst character ever. Not only his character was beyond redemption and his acts those of a psychopath, but the actor rubbed me the wrong way as well. I don't think he managed to show any kind of real emotion. I just wanted both him and the second female lead to disappear. They ruined the series for me.

So I Forced Myself to Finish Watching
This series isn't without its funny moments and I managed to watch in utter boredom until the end because the characters do grow on you. I found our FL's character to be flat, and restricted. I think partially due to casting as she seemed to hold back just a little too much. I found the the ML's character had the arc whereas the FL did not have one. The ML actor held up most of the show for me and even then it was like I could tell he was tired. The overall show drags way too much and is really dull for the amount of time invested. They could have developed the supporting characters more, had more fun moments, especially flirting between the leads. I feel like there was nothing. The pushover character is just mirroring how you will feel as a viewer after watching LOL maybe best to just move along and find something else. Was this review helpful to you?
No structure, no buildup, no personalities
It sounds like a good premise, and from the parts I have seen the acting was decent and there was the occasional nice scene. BUT:- the pacing and development was all over the place. There seemed to be absolutely no coherency between episodes as to what happened when. The leads just randomly go back and forth between scene swere they like each other/develop feelings slowly, and scenes where they are either indifferent to each other or outright vile and spitefull.
- the romance didn't work for me. Basically before they got together we had three kinds of interactions. The ones where they were nice to each other/interested in each other, the ones were they were neutral or oftentime ssomewhat bad but without bad intentions, and the ones were they treated the other actively bad, oftentimes intentional and without any apparent reason for that.
One of the main Problems of the show was that the neutral scenes tended towards negativity/them treating each other kinda bad. Which ciuld have still worked, except we got about as many sweet/interested scenes as scenes were they activaly attacked/sabotaged/mistreated each other. Just not believable that any real relationship would srping forth frkm that.
- the show wasted hughe amounts of time on flashbacks and the secondary couple. They were not well executed or writen, and they, together with most of the ML's backstory could have just been cut and replaced by generics, and the show would be better for it.
- the lead characters really lacked buildup and personalities. They basically had no live outside working, getting drunk and having issues with their past. No hobbies and barely any friends/relations, and those that existed were badly writen and had very little screentime.
- The FL's beeing the "number 1 anti fan" was simply not there. Yes, she disliked him. But the only way in which the show shows her as Nr.1 anti fan before the reality show parts starts is that she ONLY antifan we see. Period. Like they didn't even have her on Message boards/chatrooms or anything with other anti fans. Everyone except her and the SML seems to love the ML, no opossition whatsoever.
Overall the show was just plain bad, and I recommend strongly not to waste time on it

So I sat down earlier this week to start ep 15 and realized...I don't want to finish this drama, lol. I went into Anti-Fan with the mindset that I didn't really care if it was going to be tropey or poorly written. I was going to let the drama take me where it wanted to go and enjoy the journey. And up until ep 14, that was enough.
Going into ep 15, however, I found myself dreading having to watch anymore. I had zero interest in the story or the characters at that point, and sitting through an hour of them no longer appealed to me. I think this was due to a few things. 1) I'd gotten all of the enjoyment out of the drama that I was going to, and I was ready to move on to something else. 2) Ep 14 and the problems it created for the story had finally set in and I was suddenly feeling a lot more aware of the dramas flaws. 3) My currently watching-list has gotten a lot longer than I really like it to be, so I think my brain was screaming 'PLEASE DROP SOMETHING FOR THE SAKE OF MY SANITY!', and this drama isn't exactly at the top of my list of favorites, so it's the one my brain decided had to go.
Looking at this drama critically, it's not something you would watch because of great storytelling or compelling characters or stunning visuals. This is the sort of drama you watch when you want to turn off the critical side of your brain. The thing is, in order to enjoy a 'bad' drama (or book or movie or western television show or anything really), it has to do a sufficient job of distracting you from it's flaws. And while this drama did a decent job of doing so through ep 13, ep 14 brought said flaws into stark relief. Once that happened, there was really no going back to the enjoyment and forward motion I had been experiencing before.
A couple of other users suggested in the comments that this drama should be viewed in two parts, ep 1-13 and ep 14-16, and I have to agree. Maybe if you do, you'll be able to watch the final two episodes.
Personally, I just couldn't be bothered.

So Embarrassing
I couldn't watch it after 8th episode.Starting episodes were kinda funny and interesting & I was hoping that I'll get to see some cute romcom...BUT Damn!!! I was totally wrong.
The way they pulled pranks on FL and she did nothing! She didn't even have self respect? I guess the writer forgot to add confidence in Female Leads. Both of them seems STUPID! one is destroyed her own career by throwing her Heels on a Superstar & other one wants to meet her ex-bf again and again! I mean why??
Both Male leads were fighting over one women who looked timid most of the time.
I've seen Soo Young in RunOn, she was pretty good in that drama but in this one... Omg! She gets humiliated in every single episodes and continue to shoot that show. Why ? Just for a little time fame ? When ML's fans was cursing her, whenever they get chance they beats her up, she's still willing to shoot just because of money or what? ( Her mother even called her if she needs money) I couldn't understand her reason at all. Why the hell she wanted to be hated from the whole nation!
Choi tae joon... I don't have much to say about him, his character was jerk most of the time.
Overall it was so embarrassing and frustrating to see a FL without any self-esteem & confidence. I expected a lot. My bad!
Why there's *Strong FL* in tags. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Toxic tsundere - pass
I gave this five episodes because of the bright, funny start. I genuinely laughed often in the first couple of episodes, and the concept displayed real promise. But it quickly settled into a misogynist pattern of abusing and mocking the FL while excusing the ML for being a thoroughly nasty piece of work. The "pranking" session coming after the FL was egged and floured was actually quite brutal, but it did not signal any change for the better in the treatment of the FL. With no improvement by the end of 5, it became another "life is too short" moment, and I was glad to dump it.Was this review helpful to you?
Just a toxic drama with weak leads
This is my first time to rate a series this very low. I hate how the storyline goes, but here are my comments:- Both character of the leads were weak. The FL is a pushover, pitiful and just frown on the side. Like come on, why would you push yourself to live in the guy's home at the very least. She's so troublesome and her acting was really off.
- There's no chemistry for both leads. I don't feel the care from ML towards the FL and vice versa.
- Nothing but a toxic storyline, focused on the love of the ML to his past lover.
I really tried to bear watching this series but I came to understand why other stations did not accept this to air way back 2018.

I really love this
Even though the plot is a bit cliche the storyline really makes me wanna keep watching (I’m a sucker for enemies to lovers so this might be a little biased). It is supposed to be a lighter drama so the acting gets a little awkward sometimes but it’s really not that bad and makes it a lot funnier.
I think the only complaint I have is about the soundtrack. Like, really they did the worst possible job, some of the songs/sound effects REALLY break the mood.
Overall, I would recommend this kdrama for someone who’s already used and likes this style, but not as someone’s first.
I’ll definitely keep watching!
