The plot itself isn't groundbreaking but the execution sealed the deal for me. It's more about the journey of a girl going all in after she's given a second chance in life rather than a romance, something I really came to appreciate by the end of the show.
On the music side, one pet peeve I have is that Chinese dramas tend to have cringy and exaggerated music for sad scenes which is extremely off-putting, so I'm glad to see this drama forego that for some amazing OST that actually made me tear up. But I cry a lot during dramas so maybe it's not that amazing lol
Most of the actors were rookies when they made this show and they were pretty solid. I have no complaints because I was immersed the whole time. Well, maybe one complaint — the show wasn't long enough for them to really show off their skills. Season 2, please!

Story- The story is all about a girl named Yun Xiaoxi (Lin Ying Ying) who always bullied by their classmate's and got depressed by their mom's death and wanted to change the past if she got a chance. One day she receives a 'regret medicine' from an unknown person and went to the past to change it.
Things I liked- The first thing I liked in this drama that it only gets to the point and no extra time has been taken for romance or the chasing part. And the doubts that you may have in the starting it all got cleared in the end. So be calm while watching this.
Things I don't like- Because of its shortness audience were not able to attach with the emotions or not able to know more about the characters. And in the end they had not mentioned or show that the last scene was of the past or future.
Hence, as a short Drama with the good plot I recommend you this drama and because it only have five episodes that means it cannot waste your time at all. No need for second season.

A short drama, but well-structured and cute.
Reset Life is a drama released in 2019 that tells the story of Yun Xiao Xi, a young woman with a promising future in the fashion world. While still a university student, she was unfairly accused of plagiarism during a fashion competition, an act committed by Xia Duo. To make matters worse, on the same day of the accusation, she loses her mother in a hit-and-run accident, which deeply devastates her. This series of events marks the beginning of a life filled with hardships, where Yun Xiao Xi becomes undervalued both professionally and personally. After five years, she is once again ridiculed by Xia Duo and some former classmates. Feeling increasingly hopeless, Yun Xiao Xi begins to question her life and the paths she has taken. In a moment of deep sadness and regret, she receives a mysterious "pill of regret," which gives her the chance to travel back in time. With this new opportunity, she decides to change her attitude, face her fears, and alter the course of her life and career.POSITIVES POINTS:
1. Plot: Considering that this drama only has five episodes, the plot is well-structured, cohesive, and objective. The narrative is straightforward, without unnecessary subplots, focusing on what really matters: the protagonist Yun Xiao Xi’s journey toward her fresh start. Thus, the initial premise of the drama is fulfilled, maintaining fluidity between the episodes and a good pace.
2. Time Travel Theme: Although the time travel theme is not something new, as there are many dramas with similar plots, it is something I personally enjoy because it brings a sense of possibility and hope. Additionally, it provides an excellent opportunity to explore how our actions and decisions can shape our future. Each drama that adopts this theme finds a unique way to present time travel and the reason behind it. In this case, time travel occurs through a "pill of regret," created by a man in gratitude for the kindness shown to him by the protagonist's mother. Thus, Xiao Xi has the chance to change not only her own fate but also the fate of others around her. Although I find the man who created the pill somewhat caricatured, I appreciated that, even briefly, the drama explains his motivation for creating the pill and how it came to be.
3. Acting: Notably, the performances play a significant role in immersing the audience in the story. Actress Li Ying Ying's (Yun Xiao Xi) conveyed the sweetness and sorrow that her character felt due to the accusations and the loss of her mother. What stood out most in her performance was how her eyes always expressed the love she had for her mother and the fear of losing her again. Actress Jiang Zi Chen (Xiao Duo) also did a wonderful job portraying her character, who is spoiled, selfish, and jealous. She skillfully explored the layers of arrogance, insecurity, and competitiveness, making it convincing. Ding Yu Xi (Cai Tian Mu) is another highlight, especially due to his incredible ability to express emotions through his eyes. His performance is deeply immersive, striking a balance between the gentleness and delicacy of his character. What impressed me the most was how he brought such an enchanting and endearing personality to Cai Tian Mu, making him absolutely lovable.
4. Development of the Female Protagonist: I appreciated the development of Yun Xiao Xi throughout the drama. She undergoes notable personal growth, transforming from an wronged, defeated, shy, and sad young woman into a strong, confident person capable of facing not only those who hurt her but also her internal fears.
POINTS I WOULD ADJUST:
Although the drama has an interesting premise, I would have liked the character of the creator of the pill to be more developed. Specifically, I would adjust the creation of the pill to make it more intriguing, making him less of a caricature. Another point is that, while the drama does not focus on exploring the dimension of time travel, such as the consequences and side effects, since the pill is the main resource for time travel, I would have liked the drama to explore more of its ramifications. Additionally, the romance between Xiao Xi and Tian Mu is so charming that I would have liked to see more romantic interactions between them.
OVERALL VIEW:
Reset Life is a drama I had never heard anyone mention, perhaps because it is an older drama or has only a few episodes. Even though it is predictable, it was a wonderful surprise to follow this story. The development of the characters, the protagonist's love for her mother, Cai Tian Mu's protection and kindness, and the exploration of how our actions can shape the future were all captivating. My rating is 9/10.
"Life has no pill of regret. The time that has passed cannot come back. Valuing the present is the true path to happiness." – Reset Life.

Short and sweet!
Oh thank goodness, finally a well written drama that is short and sweet. Love the characters. There's a simplicity to this drama that is refreshing after watching longer drawn out dramas. The characters are well developed despite the short run time. You see growth and progression in the main and supporting characters, and yet it doesn't feel rushed. The pacing is just right. If all dramas could be this clear, succinct, yet well fleshed out, I'd watch more dramas.
Definitely recommend.

It has everything in just 5 episodes
Story went well, characters are well portrayed.Let me share why I love this series so much.
First of all there are No unnecessary scenes. In these 5 episodes you'll laugh, cry, feel irritated of Xia Duo, and be touched by the impressive exchange of heartfelt lines from casts.
You'll know what love is and you'll learn a moral lesson. Everything is inside those 5 precious episodes.
Everything is great! Cheers to casts, staff and crews this is the best mini series that I've ever watched!
and btw, our female lead deserves more main roles!!

Watchable because... Ryan Ding
I decided to watch this because of Ryan Ding and well, no regrets.Story is fast-paced as there are only 5 episodes. The cast is actually quite a ‘big’ cast as it features Jerry Yan and Wang Da Lu too.
What I liked:
-Ryan Ding is a charmer and a good guy in the show
-Female antagonist aka bitch gets her just deserts and gets it fast
-Story moved so fast
-Only 5 episodes so it’s perfect for those who want something light and easy to watch
The MEH:
-Don’t know who this female lead is - she’s very ordinary
-Female antagonist aka bitch is ugly
-Songs disappeared/ were cut from the streamed video
-Things moved a little too fast and so there is little plot or character development
Can watch. Don’t expect too much.

Nice show to spend an evening, even more if you are a Ryan Ding's fan !
Nice short series "2nd chance by time travel" with Ding Yu Xi.Plot: A girl (played by Silvery Li) who was bullied and who failed at everything, ready to commit suicide, is offered a regret pill which takes her back 5 years.
+ excellent actors (including Ryan Ding as ML, adorable, the perfect boyfriend :)
+ story without shortcuts despite the 5 x 40 minute format
+ dynamic production, without length
BUT
- Even in a such short series, they manage to do some great product placement (too much, too obvious :(
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

An Annoyingly Predictable but Otherwise Inoffensive MiniDrama
This drama is (unfortunately) completely ruined for me by its predictability. Nothing shocking or unexpected happens, and I can basically guess everything that's going to happen over the entire length. The only reason I managed to complete it was because it was short, and even then I struggled. I suppose it's a testament to other writers skill that they can avoid this one flaw that manages to destroy the entire show. Now, I'm not going to discredit the show entirely. I came here for a revenge plot, and I got one. And maybe it's my own overconsumption of this trope that's at fault, so let's take a look at the positives. The premise is solid, and there's little fluff or filler in the series. The story gets down to business quickly and manages to introduce the characters pretty well and efficiently. The protagonist also manages to succeed in situations due to her own skill, which is nice. The music is actually really good in my opinion, and acting is good enough to surpass suspension of disbelief. Unfortunately, the positives end here.
Obviously, the predictability of the show is the biggest problem by far. Every new idea and premise and character that's introduced has a clear and predictable conflict and ending which is followed to a tee. Tropes and clichés are basically all that exists in the drama, with not an ounce of subversion to be found. Also, some of the actions of main character are a tad questionable, and sometimes she doesn't seem to learn from her mistakes. The premise is that she is returned to the past so she can redo life with more experience, but oftentimes her success still relies on luck and those around her. The romance felt pretty rushed as well, and it was sometimes difficult to discern the protagonist's own feelings on either of the leads. She often felt like more of a passive character than a proactive one.
And really, there's not much more than that, but the massive, gaping flaw at the heart of the story is what really ruined it for me. Perhaps if you're not all that familiar with common tropes or you're willing to look past an abundance of them you might enjoy this drama, but otherwise I will firmly recommend against watching this.

Random enjoyable click
Quite surprise see Ding Yu Xi played short drama, but then I realized this prior to his fame. Lets enjoy this....How fun to have a chance to renew ur life with all the memory of future life, so you get to choose the right choice this time.... That's this drama all about.
This drama tell story about a girl, yun xiao xi (XX), that get the second chance to change her life. In the 2nd life, she get to know what she actually missed & grab all the opportunities that she didn't have courage to pursue in her 1st life. And how in the end all that decision make a sweet ending story for her.
What's I really like from XX herself. Is that she's not really take a full revenue on her enemy, Xia Duo (XD), no matter how XX know how rotten XD is. Like when XX know that XD will stole her design for the competition, XX still only give her warning not expose her to all the people.
Overall this one short but very enjoyable ride...

short story about "what could've been"
I chose to watch this drama for the FL after finishing "Lovely Us", so I went in without any expectations. The cast is refreshing and really solid, however this is your pretty typical "time travel" drama, but it is executed well. It leaves a bittersweet feeling, knowing how small changes in the past could have transformed a miserable, unfortunate life of the FL.Overall, this is just a solid drama that gets straight to the point. It is only 5 episodes long, so definitely give this one a try.
