regretted watching this so late

this is like the best taiwanese dramas i've watched so far (although i haven't tried that many). I was addicted to the OST and finally had the chance to try this drama a few days ago. I finished this series in 3 days. The complications got me thrilled and the romance between huang yuxuan and li ziwei got me screaming! it was kinda sad to see mo junjie disappointed in the middle, but he finally got to be with chen ruyun. they deserved each other! plus li ziwei and huang yuxuan find their way to each other even without the tapes. I guess the wait to meet each other again is worth it. I will definitely rewatch this someday or one day :)

This fantasy drama deals with traveling through space and time in order to restore people's destiny that had been unwilling changed. How a refreshing love story this is from episode 1 to 9 ! Characters are quite interesting and their intereractions are so much well filmed. No clichés, in here, it all sounds very true even what is unlike to be ! That is precisely what makes this drama an outstanding one !
You may get confused at the beginning of the drama : two stories are crossed and don't follow any chronological time. The two stories main characters are also played on purpose by the same actors. You do need clues in order to follow the plot. As soon as you think you understand the 2 stories connections, next episode events may change it all and you really have to put all the different pieces you've been given at the right place to get the puzzle completed ! You willl finally really understand this extraordinary love story only on last episode.
Mistery and suspense give a big value to this drama and the storyline is rather very well handled. The director does a real great job making us hanging to the plot and getting involved with the characters and thrilling events. Traveling through time has to do with both an evil music tape player and Wu Bai's song "Last dance".
To me, the story key point is Chen Yun Ru, a 17 years old student whose life is not what she is expecting to be. She is lonely and depressed because nobody seems to care about her, nor even her family. She thinks that her existence is unnoticed. She has no friends and hates the whole world but hide her real feelings. Only Wu Bai's song Last dance makes her feel less uneasy in her life and can comfort her. She doesn't take any chance in getting to know her classroom mates and wears earphones whenever she can. Actually, a senior student, Mo Jun Jie, has noticed her and is interested in her. Mo Jun Jie is shy and his friend Li Zi Wei helps him to meet the girl. Those 3 become friends. One day, Chen Yun Ru wakes up in hospital because of a car accident. From that moment, things will definitely change for her and her two friends. She pretends now to her friends to be Huang Yu Xuan a 27 years old, mature, self-confident and communicative girl. The important point is that Huang Yu Xuan does exist and lives in 2019 while Chen Yun Ru lives in 1998. Here begins traveling through times loops that will eventually end when things turn back to what they were originally supposed to be.
If you don't like watching love stories this drama is not for you. If you like mystery, solving enigma through space and time you may find this drama quite thrilling and addictive. Actors are cute and good performers, a very good drama indeed.

Mixed feelings

I decided to give a chance to this drama at 2 AM because of a well-written comment on tik tok and thank god I did that.
The story was so interesting, unique, captivating and above all passionate. To be honest, if the cause was because I was tired or because of the fantastic work of the actors as well as the emotional plot line I don´t know but I do know that by the time I finished the first episode I was shedding tears as I did in other more eps.

Although, this emotional side of the drama can yes make you fall in love with their love story but can also make you feel frustrated because things aren´t going the way you want or sad because you feel like the characters deserve so much more or even confused since the time-lines sometimes are a little blurry and you can´t really tell what´s happening.

I can say that aside from the good things and the bad things that are part of a good drama, this one had some aspects that I have doubts about the execution that is more based on a personal opinion such as the ending. I have a lot of bad things to say about open endings, I dislike them with a passion because they have been used more especially in good movies which leads to me getting heartbroken, as usual.
I don´t want to imagine what happened I want to see, to testimony their ending, to their deserved happiness after so much trouble and chaos along the episodes. I can accept in some dramas or movies and even admit that it matches but in this one personally it was very well made but it hurt much more and maybe that was the point, could have predicted the drama was doomed to have this ending they never catch a break from tears, STILL one more reason to at least give us and shows us how after all of that both could have a good ending living together and jun jie happy too and all the others.

Moreover, don´t make this a reason to not watch Someday or One Day because it´s really worth your time, you won´t be bored nor regret watching it, because at the end of the day it´s such a beautiful story with a lot of learnings but also action, mystery and of course love.

Good confusion!

OVERALL
This drama is probably one of the best mystery dramas, in my opinion. Watch it if 1) you're looking for a well-written plot, with little to no loopholes, 2) you like fantasy/time-travel dramas, 3) you want a emotional and touching love story. Think twice if 1) you don't like getting confused by a drama plot, 2) age gaps between the OTP bother you, 3) you want to see lots of smexy scenes. But then still give it a shot. This drama is really something!

THE STORY
There's mystery like the whodunits, in which you're still kind of in control of what you're seeing. The puzzle is basically over and you're just missing a piece or two to have the full picture. And then there's Some Day or One Day, where you basically only have one or two pieces and you have no clue what the full picture is going to look like. I was lost and confused for most of this drama, and I LOVED every second of it!

The Good: The best thing about Some Day or One Day is obviously the writing. Time travel plots are easy to mess up, but the writing was tight. Every detail went full circle and made complete sense down the line. I also loved the female characters of this drama. Male lead and second male lead were fine, but common. Female lead was a no-nonsense, straightforward kind of girl and I loved her attitude. And second female lead was so real, making every scene about her feel extremely significant, even though we aren't meant to care about her until quite late in the series. Oh, and the interactions between all characters, and especially the OTP, are absolutely awesome. Male lead is an example that other dramas should follow, instead of constantly repeating the cold, mean, narcissistic lead. There's a lot to like about Some Day or One Day.

The Bad: There isn't a lot I didn't like about this drama. I wish there'd been more cute, sweet or smexy couple scenes, but I understand why there isn't. I can also mention the fact that one mystery in the series isn't that much of a mystery - it's pretty obvious from the start, or the fact that the ending of second female lead is unrealistic and not very coherent - I didn't feel super comfortable with what the drama implies about people like her. But overall, these are small weaknesses compared to all the strengths of this drama. NOTE: For the best experience of Some Day or One Day, make sure you watch the supplemental ending sequence they made and uploaded on Youtube, and don't end the drama with the last episode.

THE ACTING
Very good. I'd seen the actress before in at least two dramas and I think she's one of the best in Taiwanese television. Here her skills are more apparent since she plays two different people and you can tell, in her mannerisms, that they're entirely different. Male lead was also very good. There's one scene (opening sequence of episode 8) that particularly shocked me and made me realize he's not so far behind. He's pretty good too. I don't know what to say in terms of chemistry, but the OTP is still pleasant to watch and you totally root for them. It was all good!

THE MUSIC
Perf. This drama is one of those in which the music almost steals the show. So many of the songs ended up in my playlist, it's crazy!

REWATCH VALUE
Because the best part of this drama is the mystery and that feeling of being confused, I don't think it's a drama you can rewatch many times, regularly. But it's definitely a drama you can rewatch after some time, when you've forgotten the details of the drama and you can rediscover them and get surprised again. I did. This is my second time watching!

Time Dimensions Love

I watch it second time it completely change the preceptives of how i saw the story .. I reality was Wang Quan Sheng never loved Huang Yu Xuan . Wang was gay . HE try to kill himself so li zi wei took over his body when lizi was in coma use his body to change things . Wang inner soul already died so lizi was split into two they can't exist together so wang Quan took decision to destroy himself .
Huang loved liZi not Wang . LiZi loved Huang not Chen Yu . I love of Huang and LiZi made the changes in their dimensions and they went into deep loop . I loved the ending how different world is created now Mo Jun and Chen seem to be close start their own love story that way the loop of dimensions end there as Chen no longer need LiZi .
Now another dimensions start may be somwhere in future another loop will start but this time LiZi and Huang ANYONE else wouldn't get involved in future . I love everything about it . As i had second lead syndrome for Mo jun to be with chen it seem like it went kinda at last . This drama really mind blown me Kudos to actors , Directors and Writers . Everyone's acting was Top Noch

I think I can honestly agree with everyone else when they say that this was a creative masterpiece. Although I'm a rom-com watcher myself, sometimes I like a little twist in things and I'm sure a lot of people do as well. This show was just creative right off the bat and you purely did not want to stop watching it. You would think it's just about someone that's grieving or even more than that but it's a huge story of line of finding a past self, new self and someone you don't actually know at all. Not only that, but there's new things from the whole show throughout the way, it has friendship, to romance to a murder mystery yall. How crazy is that.

Alice and Greg were a wonderful pair to be a actor and actress in this aspect because they had great chemistry and the acting from everyone else was great as well. They played great parts in every way.

The music was okay lol but I wouldn't go out and search for it.

All in all, it's a quick and easy watch, I personally wouldn't rewatch it but it was nice and easy.

“Someday or One Day” is not just a romance — it’s an experience. It begins as a mysterious love story wrapped in nostalgia and slowly unfolds into a beautifully constructed tale about fate, loss, and the courage to remember. What starts as a simple longing to see someone again transforms into a profound meditation on love that defies time itself.

Alice Ko delivers an extraordinary performance as Huang Yu-xuan, portraying grief, confusion, and hope with raw honesty. Greg Hsu matches her perfectly as Li Zi-wei, the embodiment of warmth and quiet devotion. Their chemistry is undeniable — not in loud declarations, but in fleeting glances, unfinished sentences, and the aching silences between them. Every reunion, every realization feels like destiny and heartbreak colliding at once.

The writing is nothing short of brilliant. It takes a complex premise — time travel, parallel identities, and lost memories — and weaves it into something emotionally coherent and deeply human. Each episode rewards your attention, revealing small clues that later become devastatingly meaningful.

Visually, the show is poetic: muted tones, nostalgic filters, and the iconic use of “Last Dance” turning into a haunting motif of memory and longing. The direction is delicate, never over-explaining, trusting viewers to feel their way through the mystery.

What makes “Someday or One Day” so unforgettable is its emotional truth. It isn’t about changing the past — it’s about understanding it. It teaches us that even if love can’t rewrite time, it can echo through it.

Heart-wrenching, hopeful, and impossibly beautiful, “Someday or One Day” is a masterpiece that stays with you long after the final scene fades — like a memory you never want to wake from.

I think the only ting that I dont like in this series is the song they used for time travel -"Last Dance" by wu bai..I dont know..I just dont like it...For some reason, I feel irritated everytime I hear it..hahaha..sorry..but the rest of the songs are really good..specially the opening theme...I love the emotion on that song...Anyways, I love everything about this series(except from the song "Last Dance") - the story,pacing,editing,cinematography,OST,acting...everything...I cant belive that the lead actress is already 35 years old..she looks like 17 years old..I love the emotion they gave on this series... I love how editing was done..its unpredictable...love the ending....Im just wondering what happened to Wang Chuan-Sheng(the original one who commited suicide) after the future changed..did he still had the same fate?? But overall, this is a must-watch..it deserves an international recognition...the time travel was made decently..Love everything about it...I almost forgot that Taiwanese dramas are good as well...its been a long time i watched a series from Taiwan..totally loved this.

Dramatic & angsty romance with fantastical twist that got me hooked despite filmmaking limitation

This drama features an intricate romance intertwined with a well conceived time slip concept. I was properly captivated by the story of Huang Yu Xuan and Li Zi Wei : it was pretty dramatic, with a lot of angst and high stakes which made it an intoxicating and enchanting cocktail. The nostalgia factor was also a key aspect that got me hooked.

The series is not without flaws. First, I think that even if I found the ending in overall satisfying, I wish the landing would have been smoother and better paced. I also would have appreciated a longer epilogue so that the writers get to the bottom of the time slip gap between their main characters. Second, I truly wished that the budget limitation will have felt less strong. There were quite a few time when I could not help myself to think that a better budget and filmmaking would have elevated some of the scenes to give them an even more fairytale and nostalgic vibe.

Regarding the main cast, I found them pretty good overall. I was completely under the charm of Greg Hsu (not sure if it is character or actor related but for sure he had me swooning during the whole duration of the series). The main actress had what I felt was the most complex part and she did a good job handling the various layers of the role. I honestly wish sometimes that she would have upped her acting game even more for some of the most emotional scenes but it was certainly not a deterrent to the story. I also felt that having the female lead and male lead playing high schoolers was unrealistic but at the same time, I understand that this choice was necessary for the sake of clarity in very entangled storylines.

I would recommend this to people looking for a captivating and quite dramatic romance with a fantastical twist. There is some minor writing points that I would love to be improved and I also wish they had a bigger budget for some of the sequences. But despite these few nitpicking points, it is really worth your time and will take you on an emotional and mysterious journey. I will be curious to give a shot to the other remakes of the story at some point.

One of the best storylines I've watched in a long time

I'll start this review with the fact that yes, I think this drama was a very good watch, and definitely worth your time.

This is a story about time travel, between two (seemingly) star crossed lovers. Their love is so intense and cherished, that they do whatever means necessary to find each other and be together again. But in order to do so, there are obstacles they must get through, and questions they need to answer.

I'll start with the only cons I personally found:

1. This is my first TW drama in years. I'm mostly watching K-Drama now. So this may not be a con for others, but I felt like there was a lack of well done cinematography and special effects. I had a big chuckle when I saw the scenes of uninhabited souls staying in that tent like thing.

2. There were some scenes that I found to be a little cringe - ie: the way her body lay on the ground after her accident, Mo Jun Jie's almost possessive nature in some places, the weird AI program thing in the beginning, her asking the doctor about his brother (c'mon irl that'd be totally inappropriate).

That said, I think there are a LOT of pros:

1.. The storyline - if you only need one reason to watch this drama, this should be it. By far one of the best storylines I've seen about time travel. The timeline is consistent, but not obvious, so that you're always aware of what's going on, but also have no idea what's coming next. I had a hard time guessing what was going to happen, and though I guessed a couple things, I was wrong on a lot of them too. I also LOVED the way the drama was edited. Though there were a couple of replayed old memory scenes, most of them were fresh, and/or revealed more information that before. I also enjoyed the separation between the two times.

2. This drama is fast paced - they do not beat around the bush. At 13 eps, I was already excited that it wasn't any longer. They didn't dilly dally when it came to things that needed to be said or done.

3. The versatility of the genres - Although I would 100% call this drama a romance, comedy is a close second, along with a little mystery. I was able to enjoy the multiple facets of the drama - cried my eyes out, swooned, paused to try and figure out what was going to happen next, and just have a good time watching it.

4. The acting - Well done all around, especially for LZQ and HYS.

This was a great re-intro for me to TW drama's, and I'm really glad it was this one. Excellent watch.
