A Second Chance At Life
Someday or One Day is such a complex series. It feels hard to even write a review or wrap my head around all the feelings left over after watching. The story starts out with a woman who has lost the love of her life to a plane crash. She finds out through an app that there is someone who looks just like her, and thus follows a twisting and turning series of events. There is body-swapping of sorts, time travel, and a time-crossed love story to capture your attention. The central storyline focuses on the aforementioned woman, and a young girl in high-school who hates her life.
SOD is really about loving yourself, the journey, and treasuring what you have. It is a roller-coaster of so many emotions, and a truly beautiful, albeit bittersweet, story. The acting is perfectly on par and the music is quite lovely. I do have to say, I was a little tired of the main song they used as a method for time travel, but that's to be expected when it's played so often. I am left a little unsatisfied with the bittersweet ending, but thoroughly enjoyed the journey along the way. A little word of warning, the time travel plot-lines can leave your brain feeling like a pretzel mid-way through, so just go with the flow and everything will be explained later on.
All in all, I would recommend if you're looking for a time travel plotline done right with romance and an emotional impact. Someday or One Day was wonderfully executed and will definitely leave its mark.

The worst ever made
This is the worst and the most overrated drama i've ever seen , they thought they combined your name and dark to make something good , but they made the worst drama of all time , watching this was a punishment and nightmare for me , the main character was the worst and the most annoying character i've ever seen both from 2019 and 1998 .and the writer just added a beautiful and innocent man just to be a victim between his best friend and the one he loved first , so he suffered the most , playing an annoying song about ten times in each epsiode made my cut my ears ,the cinematography was so bad .
and the gay kiss scene on episode was just a fan service since most of the taiwaneese drama watchers only watch bl .

Over complex a simple story
A simple story, travel back in time to correct the future, but due to the constant time flipping it is so annoying and unnecessary. I lost interest in this. I only watch this as KD is doing a remake of this. I hope the KD does not make a mess like this. Also she is not beautiful and for a Taiwanese girl so guys chasing her and dying for her lol makes me laugh.
If you are bored and happy to sit in front of this drama, non stop, and do nothing, you might understand and follow the story, but in 2023 who has time. Maybe ppl was lockdown in 2020 so they had time to sit and watch as they was nothing to watch.

I Bomba'd on the Milky Way
Sunday or JuandayThis is a rare show where I actually remember the characters names. And theres like double characters that look the same in this show. Insane how they found 3 pairs of actors that look the same and sound the same but have such distinct acting styles. The casting director should get a raise. Bro is cooking
Story wise, theres really nothing to complain about. It was complicated but told in a way that was easy to understand. The foreshadowing was crazy with it. The only complaint I could have is that the acting and the way some scenes are directed dont have as much emotional impact as it could have. Like when it was revealed that Mo Jun Jie was the murderer it was pretty much glossed over and didnt really have much emotional impact. If they either focused on that scene more, or removed it to have more impact in the final scene, that would have been crazy (though this is keeping in mind that i thought that he kills her in the end which he doesnt. Would be a crazy twist though). Overall the story was really nice and delved into all the important characters. Even side characters that are overlooked. They become pivotal parts of the story and thats amazing to see. Its genuinely good writing. At the start we get used to these characters not really worrying or caring too much about one of the characters and it kinda conditions you to not care either. Only later on do you kinda realise. Ayo this kinda fucked up especially because characters care about the girl more when shes lively and cheerful. And when shes gloomy they actively tell her they like her when shes happy and shit. Like damn just let a girl be emo without judging wtf. I would also just like to point out that LI Zhi Wei had been living by himself trying to save people and solve stuff and then like 2 days after he was finally able to reunite, Huang Train Sheng got his ass killed.
The acting was interesting at times. It was abit hard to fully be immersed just because the main character did not act like a 27 year old trapped in a 15 year olds body. There were some questionable behaviours and random goofy things from random side characters and what not. Its not that its like bad or anything but it just distracts from the serious tone of the show since in away it is able dealing with loss and not living in the past. Overall the emotional impacts are done nicely and its good.
The music was pretty peak and used very effecively throughout emotional scenes. Very memorable songs which very distinct scenes attached to them. Very good shit. Will be putting alot of these in the drama ost playlist.
There was alot of foreshadowing and scenes that went over my head. And because of the mysterious plot, it will be a pleasure to rewatch. Shit was produced well. And like a well written book, you could probably pop in to any sort of scene and just be able to sit there and enjoy rewatching the show.
I was watching a scene in a later episode where a character was saying "The furthest thing in the universe..."
And theres this cinematic pause where she contemplates her life.
I said "is you"
And then the show said "is you".
At that moment, I had felt such a sensation that it was akin to when I figured out how to pirate movies for the first time. That shit felt like I was Joseph Joestar and that I had observation haki. And this wasnt the only moment. There were so many scenes where it would play out in a peak manner and build amazing moments in the show. (They were not cliches. It was just written well, aka the exact way I would have wanted it written. fuck you).
Someday or One Day is peaks hard.
Good shit
Like a Taiwanese Your Name with more mystery, violence, sadness and romance.
And also has more Taiwanese people in it.

Underrated Gem
I don't know what this drama made to me but I've been rewatching this series yearly since 2020 when I started this series up to now. It's really beautiful but I wanted it to stick a better landing
Before I whine about the few things that bothered me, I would like to say that I am deeply in love with this drama. This is my first non-BL Taiwanese drama, and woah is it a whirlwind of emotions. I haven't felt this many emotions since Goblin, expect this time it didn't feel like it was purposely torturing me, but still brace yourself for FEELINGS. I appreciated that it told the experiences of a variety of ages and that Alice Ke is phenomenal. I haven't been this compelled by a plot in a long time and I acted like a detective throughout the entire series (as I always do) and I have watched a lot of television and am pretty good at predicting relatively what will happen next, but I was unsuccessful at solving the mystery of this plot before it happened from beginning to end. It is so intricate it is difficult to explain but everyone is so perfect, the music is perfect, the minor plot holes did not bother me at all (like where is Huang Yu Xuan's family?) but what I can say is that not a single person will regret watching this drama. I legit will listen to the OST of this drama for maybe forever. So watch it, but if you have already watched it, then please proceed to the next section where I nitpick...So I was obsessed with this show from beginning until about halfway through ep 12. Everyone is perfect. All three leads are excellent and Xie Zhi Qi is a compelling villain, but I feel like it needed to delve into what was going on with the real Chen Run Yu long before it did, because by that point I didn't care enough about her to warrant her just appearing and taking over the final two episodes (also how does she even do that? = plothole). If they had showed her struggling throughout the show then I feel like I wouldn't have been so annoyed by her play-acting and wouldn't have just thought she was being selfish and petty (which granted is actually very realistic considering the emotions she is experiencing). I know when you are suicidal you are not capable of thinking of anyone besides yourself at that moment, but in front of her she knew that dying that way would lead to Mo Jun Jie's imprisonment and suicide and so I kept yelling things like "just don't do it while he's around!" but I know logic doesn't exist in moments like that. Poor Mo Jun Jie, he deserves the world. Also Xie Zhi Qi is a super compelling villain but like ends up not even mattering in the end of the story? Also how creepy is it that he taught himself to be a murderer? It's a whole chicken and the egg situation going on there. Also, last thing there's a song in the OST that sounds like Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka and I both liked it and simultaneously thought, "copyright issues here?".
Finally, assuming Mo Jun Jie successfully wins over Chen Yun Ru, and Li Zi Wei ends up with Huang Yu Xuan, are those besties dating doppelgängers? I would like a spin-off comedy series along those lines. Okay, go watch it!

Interesting, engaging, just beautiful
Taiwanese drama has gained international popularity over the years for its unique storytelling, diverse genres, and talented actors. They are so appealing to a wide range of audiences.I like Taiwanese dramas for their novelty and dramatism, even thought i am more into fluffy romance, sometimes i end up watching this types of series.
Also i don't really like time travel, but i've got hooked with this from the 1st couple of minutes. The story is very interesting and engaging, i couldn't forward at all, not even one sec. I enjoyed the love, the drama, the crying, the laugh, the characters. What i love the most in taiwanese film industry, how the actors are getting into the character so well, that you believe the story as true fact. I believed so much in the emotions, tears, looks, feelings.
Greg Hsu - his wide smile got me completely and made me to look forward for his new works.
I will not get into the depth of the story as it was written a lot, but is a definite must watch.

Beautiful Story
This was a beautiful watch and one I’d highly recommend. The plot was a creative time travel drama and loved how they connected all the dots without leaving holes in the plot. The acting was done very well from each of the major players of the story. I was very drawn in and invested in the highs and lows of this drama as it’s very relatable since everyone wants to be accepted, loved and to find their happy ending. The OST was beautiful and paired well with the drama. The production and visuals were pretty standard but doesn’t take away from the show.I know there is also a remake Korean version that I’ve also seen bits of and there are some minor differences but overall either story is a recommended watch.

It's not for the weak-hearted
This drama had my heart from the get-go. It's definitely a master-piece, there's no doubt there. The cast portrayed each and every character with such beauty - I was crying almost every episode. I honestly had no idea what to expect given there were so many questions, a great deal of suspense and many plot twists. It's such a complicated plot but it was executed and directed gracefully. I also think with each and every story there are things we like and appreciate as well as things we dislike, however if you're able to give a story a good ending to bring it all together then it's a wonderful piece. This is a wonderful piece. Was this review helpful to you?

Not exactly flawless, but the drama transcends the term "masterpiece" in mutiple ways.
I just finished watching this & I'm still in shock. I kinda sorta hate how the plot got wrapped up, but the last episode was not only objectively perfect & extremely touching, but I even lost the war against the onion ninja nation, I never had a chance. If I really wanted to, it wouldn't be very hard to pick the story apart. (Chicken and Egg Paradox & other potentially not so minor plotholes come to mind) However ultimately this show is beyond cleverly written. In fact I'm yet to see an Asian drama with writing this good. There are some dramas that I consider as good as Someday or One Day, but in terms of writing none of them can compare. What I find especially shocking how the drama barely features any repetition. Whenever you expect something to happen, such as travel back in time to attempt to change something, to relive a scene, the end result is completely different than our expectations, with unique unexpected perspectives & no repetition. I cannot emphasize enough how brilliant the storytelling is. Mind blown!
Also it's worth mentioning that despite the relative complexity of the plot, it's still easy to understand what's going on & yet the "explanations" never feel forced, masterful..
(I barely remember the plot of Steins;Gate, but I think this one is easily superior)
So okay, we have established that the story is brilliant, but what about the romance? Well, it's one of the best, most touching romantic stories I have ever encountered and the OTP romance could not have resonated with me any more. (and naturally the romantic plots are also super cleverly written, paced & sequenced) There is some fluff, but this is hard romance for the sentimental soul.
As for love triangles? I'm not going to spoil that, but triangle haters can safely watch this.
The three lead actors did a phenomenal job. They had good chemistry with each other & they were pretty much perfectly cast for their roles.
The cinematography is low key perfection. It's not as exaggeratedly beautiful as modern kdramas, cdramas usually are, however it's the perfect fit for this show.
And finally we arrived at the OST. Objectively speaking the OST is just as repetitive as in Something in the Rain, but I guess Wu Bai's Last Dance is ehm a WEE BIT better than "Stand by Your Man". I think I've heard it like 40-50 times before the end credits rolled, but I still felt goosebumps even in the final episode. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AqfOhesl5U piano cover on Youtube, if someone is interested, though it's not as good when FL plays it on the Piano in the show) Devoted by X-Ray Dog is also a very impressive piece, though I think I've heard it before, still it worked great in this drama.
Of course the other songs are supremely good as well, though Goblin is certainly a bit better overall in this regard. (Goblin has like 10 top tier songs and the OST Album is a very coherent listening experience, versus the 3 in Some day or One Day)
Taiwanese dramas are typically horrible. I tried to watch quite a few actually, but I just couldn't get past the first 2-3 episodes trying to pick the ones recommended by community here on MDL. Some Day or One Day is the second one I managed to finish. (the other one is Last Romance & I'll probably try Rainless Love in a Godless Land soon) I'm strongly suspecting that this drama is by far the best one the Taiwanese entertainment industry has ever produced. Comparing it to Goblin, which I think is the best kdrama ever made, it holds up extremely well. It's incredible how the people that typically make 2005 kdrama era garbage could make something like this. It's like going from using aqueducts to colonizing Mars.
Just to say some negatives too. Some of the supporting actors are a hit or miss, Xie Zhi Qi?! Also there is only one thing in the drama that could've used some CG, namely the dream prison. It felt a bit immersion breaking to see the big pixels projected onto FL's face and the whole construction reminded me of a cheap hobo shack. It would have taken very little effort to fix this & admittedly in the final episodes they've improved on this a little. (by little effort, I mean that I could have personally fixed this at the cost of $2 while being physically present on set, or alternatively I could have edited the footage myself in an afternoon, applying some selective blur here and there)
15/10. Will I just keep rewatching this until the end of my days? How do I move on from this?
Watch https://kisskh.at/61297-someday-or-one-day-extra-scene for that little extra closure. I wanted way more than this, but it's still more than nothing.
edit:
The rewatch value is FAR lower than expected.

The most incredible plot I ever watch
When I watched the Korean version of A Time Called You, I thought it was really good, but I didn’t fully understand it. At first, I even assumed it was an original story—until I discovered that Someday or One Day (the Taiwanese version) was the actual original. The series has a bit of everything: mystery, romance, sci-fi, and a mind-bending twist that leaves you thinking about it for months. The Taiwanese version, along with its movie sequel, offers a decent explanation, though it still messes with your head. I loved the Taiwanese version (except for the ending, which the movie later complements). I’d love to watch more shows like this! In my opinion, the Taiwanese cast outshone the Korean one.Was this review helpful to you?

Acting is on point. I don't know why I didn't watch it earlier!!
